I promoted them , I sent there first tape and Band picture to Atlantic Records when they were called "Swing" in 1988 and were from Huntington Beach. not San Diego ! Scott & the Band used to play local shows in Orange county clubs like the original Golden Bear etc they played Funk primarily I remember the first time the Band got paid we rode in a old red convertible on PCH to a Tie Die Tee shirt Factory for free T shirts ! I knew they would make it !
this sounds just like the blues travelers : but anyways and the spin doctors: pockets full of kryptonite :) i swear 1 1990s rock band was ripping off another one
Sounds kind of like Spin Doctors... ugh. Thank God they went a different way for their Core debut. If this had been the lead single instead of Sex Type Thing we'd all be saying, "Stone Temple who???"
Between the Lines Take a load off Huckleberry Crumble Hickory Dichotomy Dare if You Dare Cinnamon Hazy Daze Bagman Peacoat Fast as I can First Kiss on Mars Maver setlist for their new album!!!
its an awesome year 4 music, stp's got there new album comin out and soundgarden's back together, hopefully this decade was better than the last, cuz the 00's sucked ass
According to iTunes, if you pre-order the deluxe edition, it comes with Samba Nova and About a Fool, plus some live songs, between the lines music video, and a 30 minute interview.
@stpunderground No, the band confirmed that it's not the same song. Only thing it shares with this is the song title. If you just search "STP Fast As I Can", you'll find a short clip from "Baseball Tonight" which aired last night that used a short clip of the new song and it sounds much different from this.
@SalsaShark542 yeah i found that out like a couple days after i said that a couple months ago haha.... oh well either way STP can do no wrong musically
@stpunderground it might be but i down loaded the cd yesterday (it leaked) and this song dont sound the same... but it could be like piece of pie where when they put it on core it was almost not even the same song from the demos.
I tripped over a rabbit hole one day and blacked out and idk how long for but i woke up in a house and some dude came in and said he transported me from a different universe...i was like wtf?? then he said yeah he transported through a machine and into our dimention and appeard by me and seen me knocked out! He talked about stone temple pilots in there universe had different albums and i stole one of there albums in his universe it was called Black Star...This was one of the songs on the album!
It really does sound more like Jane's Addiction collaborating with Living Colour. I never knew STP toyed with funk in their early days, I thought they waited until the third album to start exploring it.
I like it. Awesome. Maybe they could do this one on the next album.

This is a sick track, downloaded the MJY demo and this is my favorite off there. This and Only Dying.

THIS REALLY ROCKS :) WHY DIDNT THE STONE TEMPLE PILOTS JUST RECORD THIS SONG FOR CORE ( 1992 ) OR PURPLE ( 1994 ) ?

This song by STONE TEMPLE JOE :) sounds like a cross between the Spin Doctors : Pockets Of Kryptonite + Blues Travelers: By The Way
with a real funky Red Hot Chili Peppers sound to it :)
jetsonic69 1 year ago
This almost sounds like Blues Travelers : The State Of The World mixed in with some Red Hot Chili Peppers sounds
Its MIGHTY JOE YOUNG before they became STP :)

Per STP - Fast As I Can on the new album is NOT a remake of the Mighty Joe Young demo, they just used the name again.
sgtmcgrail 2 years ago
have you heard it or something?
stpunderground 2 years ago
Well, they could pull what they did with the "Piece of Pie" demo and just use the title, scrapping the entire original song (besides using the solo).
