@mom0g1 Pushing them in when they don't fit can damage more then the cable, I know after now, three broken DV port camcorders, I have to transfer their files via analog conversion midway back to digital or transfer them to another digital camera!!
@JorgeLopoTuna hi, i have the same camera too, and i have trouble getting the files to my laptop. I have tried using 4pin-4pin firewire to my laptop but it's not working.... can u share which firewire cable did u use? and did u use windows movie maker to transfer the files to ur Comp???
LOL, I loved my Sony High 8; I let me lil sister use it for one summer then I dont know what happened to it it just stopped working; when she returned it to me. I had nice fxs built into it.
nice cam ...... digital 8 is the best for the films.....

You don't need Hi8 to use the D8 on the TRV140 at least, there's no Hi8 marking, which also indicates it does not play previous 8mm analog

@JorgeLopoTuna Yes! Problem solved. I bought a firewire cable, turned it to the camcorder and to my computer via a CardBus (FireWire)!
