agree, i remember the sri lankan players were being racially abused by the aussies that year , specially ranatunga because of his weight, and that six was the best way to answer to both warne & Healy, who ironically are more fatter than ranatunga back in 1996. im an indian but im happy for the srilankans. You are a very sporting country, and it was an honor to have you play in the finals against us than those arrogant aussies.

Well, I am from Pakistan. I will just say that it was a great match to watch. All the people of Lahore were excited, many of them were watching the game in stadium, rest of the people were in front of their TV sets. Both Sri Lanka and Australia played very well, but it was Sri Lanka, that took the victory in the end. CONGRATS to them. Long Live Cricket, Long Live Sri Lanka, Long Live Pakistan. Thanks to all.

I know what you mean. I was only six at the time, living as a foreigner in Sri Lanka. It was troubling times, but I cheered for my host nation and they played their hearts out. I'm proud to have spent some of my fondest moments in SL.
