Recent events in Sumatra and Japan demonstrate, you don't need a "mega sunami" to wreek havoc upon civilization. A 15 or 20 foot Sunami would devastate the eastern Americas.

Hopefully if/when the volcano on El Hierro erupts it won't cause the tsunami predicted if the volcano on La Palma erupted!

The earthquakes happening in the Canary Islands is happening on Hierro not La Palma where they say the mega Tsunami can happen.

La Palma is the island with the landslide issue because it is not as stable as Hierro is(where the activity is at present). It is a different island. The tsunami theory needs that entire chunk of land on La Palma to fall off into the sea for anything to happen beyond the obvious local problem. I suppose if the area were to widen then that island could be affected but people are just hearing things and putting them together without really listening IMO.
