I'm cool w/ Shante gettin her much deserved props, but all of this "she was the 1st..." talk needs 2 stop (unless your claim is that she was the1st to respond to UTFO's "Roxanne, Roxanne"). Sha Rock was well B 4 Shante as was the group, The Sequence, consisting of Blondie, Cheryl " The Pearl", & Angie B (who we now know as Angie Stone). Shante was nice on the mic, especially N battles or diss records, but she was hardly the 1st to do this female MC thg. & that does not diminish her contribution.
