i am so sorry for your loss. my samson just recently had to be put to sleep on july 7, 2009. my heart breaks each and every day for him. he was the fawn colored english mastiff. i called him my lovee.

I hated saying goodbye... I've never had something hit me so hard like this. I guess the idea of him had been built up so long and manifested in the form of a beautiful English Mastiff that I named Lars. I'm not mad at my wife or at my current dog but something about Lars hooked my heart and after seeing your tribute video here...I realized what it was. They are fantastic dogs and I hope Lars winds up in a good home. Perhaps I will have another chance some day. Thanks for listening. RIP Goliath.

I'm bawling my eyes out. I've wanted a Mastiff for so long... always imagining him to be the companion or "buddy" that everyone seems to enjoy with these dogs. I finally talked the wife into it... picked him up on Friday and my current dog, Oliver (chocolate lab) didn't get along with him at all. Oliver is her dog... he's a great one too but for some reason... just didn't work. I was forced to return him and now I can't stop thinking about him. I know it was only a day but I truly loved him.

Someone dumped 7 puppies out in the parking lot of my Gym back at end of January in the bitter cold late one Friday night... i went in to work out that Sat. morning and saw them, a big brindle male caught my eye and I had to take him home... he was covered in fleas and anemic and the Vet said he may not make it, but he did... I had a DNA swab done on his cheek and turns out he's a Mastiff.. a few months later and he is massive and i couldnt imagine not having him around.. He's family now

Aw, man. I knew this was going to make me cry. I've had to say goodbye to many companion animals over the years, and while it never gets any easier, knowing that what made each one unique - the energy that animates and drives and creates specific personalities - cannot ever be destroyed, helps tremendously. When I cry, I cry for me. The loss of touch, of hugs and play and physical affection, and just plain missing them.

i had to go pet my mine for 20 minutes after watching this. i have 2 fawn's and a brindle.

i am very sorry for your loss, and i know he is looking after you. i know the hurt wont go away for along time. they are the most loveable, kind, loyal bestfriend a person can have.

This video just almost made me cry. I used to have an english mastiff and loved her to bits. We sadly had to give her to another home because my parents couldnt take care of her anymore. We knew she was going to another, good home where they could take care of her. And at least Goliath is at peace too :) It upset me to watch this vid, hes a very lovely cute doggie! R.I.P...tears almost went down my eyes. Such magnificient creatures the english mastiff's are. i have a mastiff and it just turned 1year nad a half and i am happy it is very healthy at 250llbs. Im starting to feel sad already when he passes away. i wish he could stay with me forever.

I had to fight back the tears on this one...My 225lb mastiff Dante....just turned 5...thank god...he is healthy as can be. What truly magnificent animals they are. The undisputed king of all canines. Once you own a regal english mastiff...all other dogs just don't compare. Incredible family dogs, loyal beyond imagination, protective, reliable....I don't know what I am going to do when my Dante finally passes....but I am dreading the day.

So sorry to hear about your loss. My mastiff, Madison will be 6 in October and was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma, bone cancer, which has spread to her lungs. The vet suggested we put her down as soon as possible. I don't know what I'm going to do without her. They truly are gentle giants and she stole my heart. THank you for sharing Goliath with us.

I know what your going threw, me and my husband lost our Mastiff Winston he was 12 yrs old which is good for a large dog. Mastiff are awesome with kids they don't have a mean bone in their bodies. Your not alone. God Bless you and your Family
