this is great footage all the fools below who leave stupid comments make me laugh, you need to feel what is happening before you know. These other comments are foolish.
@taijihitman I hope the student did not have to pay to learn to do his part. I always wonder if this is the reason why no one understands Push hands. Understand to me, Tai chi people disrespects the Development of internal power. How is knowledge acquired? Repeatable experiences, is the best was to acquire knowledge. Knowledge or practical wisdom gained from what one has observed, encountered, or undergone: a person of experience.
@HillardEarl this is a demonstration only, the student in the clip is also a teacher of high regard and he can be seen on youtube, type in
"a lesson in pain the taiji way" . I have had good fortune and had/have good teachers so I certanly understand pushhands and I can use Taiji martialy as it was intended.
@HillardEarl through a semi cooperative pushhands session your teacher can explain and you can FEEL what he is doing and then you can replicate it, if you struggle and resist too much you wont get it, a the oppurtunity for these applications is in a blink of an eye so one can drill these until they become second nature, though simple is best headbutts, kick in balls, poke the eyes and good o'l fashion left right to face, keep training, peace, n
I have trained with master Yan Long Jiang in the UK (now a 7th generation Wu style taiji master) and I can vouch for his genuine.
He did things to me similar to what master Zhan Bo did except he added some fa jing and other kinds of attack. My advice is sight is misleading, go and feel the real thing if you doubt it. He is in the UK, Birmingham in the Chinese shop beside the fresh market and medicine shop facing the Arcadian. Great teacher indeed.
Considering the calibre of the videos on your page, and the training partners obvious supplication, I'd keep my careless fingers from the key board; if I were you, before you shame yourself further...
I'm amazed to see this footage. Before a couple of weeks ago, I never thought I'd see Master Zhan Bo in action, let alone see his relationship with Sifu. Incredible.
One more thing, Sifu wrote that Zhan Bo asked him to go behind Wang Mao Zhai's tomb and see. There were 50 names were inscribed, they were names of the Wang's 'Inner School' students.
yes it avery nice story, what a rare sight to see.i myself never thought iwould see.. two very special people doing pushing hands together.awesome thanks for sharing.....i am speechless!!!!!
(2) Yes, the communications between the generations were symbolically delivered in this shared-understanding of what the ceremony represents, their thoughts, intentions were understood without the utterance of words. Is that what you mean by 'three generations of power in a state of communion'.
(1) Yes, when they were paying tribute to Wang Mao Zhai and Xiu Pei Xun respectively, they went through a ceremony - wine were pour on the ground in a circular manner, Sifu Yan Long Jiang was burning the incense. They lined up in front of tomb with incense in their hands, Sifu was asked by Zhan Bo to make a wish, then they Kowtow three times.
One of the purpose of this trip was to pay tribute to the Northern Wu style Taiji lineage bearers, Wang Mao Zhai (2nd generation), Xiu Pei Xun (3rd). Sifu and Zhan Bo went to their graves accompanied by Xiu's son. Sifu wrote about that day, which was beautifully written in Chinese and again I was choked with tears when I read it. I am still in the process of translating it into English.
Awesome, I'm choked, a rare moment. Just some additional information to this video - it was filmed during the time Sifu Yang Long Jiang was in China about 8 months ago.
It's always heartening to know that, however good your own teacher is, he also is still learning and growing. Grand Master Zhan Bo is very impressive.

You are right, this is a demonstration only.
But once you've tasted the truth, you won't ever want to go back .
