Anyone know how to build strength with your pinky finger?? I can play guitar quite well but my pinky finger is useless.  It seems to move on its own depending on what my ring finger does!

@smithy2306 the best advice I can give is practice pull offs or trills with your pinky, you will build the muscle memory and strength in it

@smithy2306 My little finger was weak too, and a friend who is a great guitar player said he had the same problem years ago, and a great guitarist friend of his said to get a tennis ball and, holding it in your right hand, push your little finger (and ringer finger too, at the same time, to build up strenght in both) about 20 times, three sets (20, then 20, then 20) a day. I started with 10 times, three sets a day for a few weeks, and worked my way up to 20 per set, three sets a day. Try it. :)

you have rhythm. i dont have that ability to create tempo like you do yet. i just started guitar. i guess i came in thinking of playing rock and metal and stuff but my teacher played some blues style and you also. so i want to learn the blues now. so i googled who some of the best blues and jazz players are and now almost all i listen to is les paul, bb king (i knew that one) and wes montgomery so maybe i will get some of their patterns in my head : D but you come up with improv so well
