@bruceblitzconfession But the Cavs didn't really have a leader then, and they sucked. Plus Kobe didn't have the mentality of a leader then, he was just a regular rookie/player.
@bruceblitzconfession Lebron came in the league having to lead his team, Kobe didn't till his later seasons, so it's unfair in a way to compare...yeah, and your weak sarcasm, no, don't even do that, cuz it sure ain't cute.
KB24 Black Momba all day every day baby jordan good he change the nba but kobe taking it to another level before he retire probably in the next 5 years i bet he'll beat jordans all time points in a career hes close already. And I hope the lakers beat jordans record with the bulls with most wins in this season. 60 plus wins baby i have a feeling it might happen only if they dont lose to the clippers like the other night again!!!!!!!
The PER, and the fact that MJ did this in a MUCH TOUGHER defensive era, says it all. Kobe's playing in a era with handicapped def rules & STILL can't consistently produce better on-court results, so what's that tell ya?
@RealFan357 1st of all fuck your stats. Kobe has no fear so he takes a lot of tuff shots and 2nd kobe is 2 series away from his 5th ring. What are you going to say then. Also when they beat the suns that will be 7 finals appearances and 3 in a row. HMM by the way whos putting up 30 points a game in 5 straight playoff games with a broken finger, bad back and bad ankle??? Thats right get off my nuts bitch
Let's just say your juvenile comment is true for argument sake? Lets see what kobe did in this alleged "weak era"
His playoff record is 1-8. His overall playoff record in the 90's vs that SAME allegedly "weak" 2-guard comp is 1-12, and his combined scoring avg in the 90's is a WHOPPING 13ppg on 43% shooting LOL!!
I guess you forgot about those "weak" Jazz guards abusing his ass all over the court, avg'n 20+ppg vs him & holding him to 8ppg on 33% shooting huh?
"So u just erase those 3 years from kobe's career"
No, but I put 'em in their PROPER context, with a historical perspective in mind. You don't give a guy who wasn't even the best player on his own team, nor was he even 1st or 2nd Team All NBA, "majority" credit for titles..
He was robin to Shaq's Batman. He road his coatails to those 1st 3 rings..
Don't even try it! He's only led 1 team to a title (so far)..
its vacation ill have time to youtube dummy, wow you really have to get out of the topic, ok you agreed with me, jordan is much better than wilt thus kobe is much better than lebron, 4 rings to 0 rings, seriously??you have to if this and that??lebron cant even win the gold without kobe, he had all the all stars surrounding him and still cant win against greece, please lets talk of the facts, damn again and again you have to prove you dont have a single brain cell

dumbass do you even know whats all around efficiency and production?is it statistics?dummy its not,why lebron has more assists? he has the ball all the tim,why lebron has more rebounds? hes big and hes a forward for gods sake?
Yeah I think Kobe immulated and studied MJ, and I believe that MJ revolutionalized basketball like no other in the sport. However, I think the players of today are way way way better than when MJ played, mostly due to MJ's example. This is a hard to pick between the two because I don't think Kobe will have the same opportunities to be as superior as MJ because of the caliber and hunger of todays players. I can't pick one over the other at this point, which says a hell of alot for Kobe.
Kobe s got no character... one shaddy mothefucka, Lebron dominates Kobe with his personality no doubt regardless of bbal skillz... if i had a chance to spend 5 minutes with either Kobe or Lebron i d pick Lebron...
are you kidding me?if kobe to you got no character what more lebron?he cant even shake hands and accept losing and he cant accept that a kid dunks on him and so proud of his statistics when he knows its just stats and dont say a thing, you might say kobe has no character but he has more character than lebron
@bruceblitzconfession dumbass are either of them n toldays b-ball tho..i said as of todays NBA not of all time..who goin ham on the courts constantly?? #24
man that kobe shouldnt be in the same arena as mj... mj is the greatest bottom line..kobe is good but no were close to mj..i have a vid of this same subject yu should check it out
@TheCpb23 as of today in the NBA kobe is the closest thing 2 MJ..nobody n todays basketball can do wat kobe does.,,81 pts? insane..but MJ is the greatest..kobe by the end of his career will be able 2 stack up nxt 2 MJ..but rite now he aint shit 2 MJ..
Sorry Kobe will not be able to stack up next to Jordan. He is no where near him now. Kobe is like 31 or 32 years old. Believe it or not he is one the down side of his career. He got maybe 3 or 4 more dominating years left in him and thats still not enough to catch Jordan. He may win 1 more ring and that's a big maybe. You are right when you say that he is the best player in the league right now it's no doubting that.
Great one, great reference. I can certainly relate to that. Pac n Kobe are certainly on the right path but they are not still not at home with the GOAT of Armstrong n Jordan respectively. Maybe 10 yrs down the road when they had retired, u see a better picture of whether they sit in the same special lounge.
hahah...whats real weird, like you said in your videos, is how kobe wants to ACT, TALK, RIFF, MOVE, and PLAY like mike....mike changed the game around for the 2nd shooting guard position. MAN, mike is mike.....mike looks at kobe like his own son....kobe is no joke, but he has much more to do....kobe is no joke though
At the same time, it's good to know that we have all the information at the tips of our fingers, in our very own homes, called the internet.
So, it's a good idea to do as much research as we can before jumping to any conclusions. But in the end, everyone will always be entitled to their own opinion, as Blood stated. Peace.
Good vid.Alot of people stoped watching basketball when MJ left left the game.MJ made me want to play basketball.Kobe went pro out of highschool.Kobe wants to be like MJ.Look at how he walks, talks, and when he shoots the ball.Kobe got his style of playing from MJ.
A lot of these kids don't understand that MJ would take Lebron to school. Put Lebron in MJ's time era, and Lebron wouldn't get even half the points he gets today.
I consider Armstrong above Pac in the alltime rankings, but that being said just becuz you have more fights(like all the fighters back in the day did) doen's't mean ur "better". For example Bhop has 50 wins and so does pacquiao even though Pac has fought 8yrs more than Pac. Or Jus becuz PBF has 40 wins zero losses, he's better than Sugar Ray Leonard, who retired 36-3-1...NOT the case! Records and number of fights isn't everything!
EXACTLY! u took the words out of my mouth man. if records and wins meant everything then Rocky Marciano, Julio Ceasar Chavez jnr, Joe Calzaghe and Sven Okte are the best fighter ever pound for pound. LOL!
I was gonna say Jordan and Kobe are about the same, but when you win championships with Shaq as a teammate i cant give you that much credit. If Shaq was with the Bulls, Jordan would've had about 10 rings.
JORDAN greatest of ALL TIME. i think the best jordan was the mid 90's jordan when they surpassed 70 wins. a little less athletic than 80's and early 90's jordan but much smarter b-ball player with UNSTOPPABLE outside jumper and more clutch in the mid 90's. pac gets compared to armstrong bcuz both are known for jumping weight classes and winning titles. its IMPOSSIBLE for any boxer to fight 80+ times nowadays but... armstrong= feather, light, welter. pac= fly, bantam, feather, light, welter.
I have to say i agree totally with everything you said there will never be another Jordan, bruce lee, dale earnhardt or any other great sports legend of our time all we can do is continue watch and enjoy these young catz do they thang and try their best to either emulate or duplicate what these legends of sport did.
This is the real talk right here. Jordon is the best and will be for a very long time. I think we will all be dead before we find another one that is better.
the early 90's Jordan was the only basketball i ever watched after he retired the first time I stopped watching basketball, realized afterwards how good he was 93' was crazy, me and all the neighborhood kids would listen to the bulls games on the radio outside and all pretend to be Jordan
Im not sure about the basketball players cause i dont know who they are, we dont watch basketball over here but i seen Micheal Jordan in Space Jam lol But i think old time boxers were better, much tougher but they didnt have the advantage of advanced sports science so its a tough question to awnser. But id pick old time sports people because the new greats learn from the old 1s.
u have to use past athletes as measuring sticks, the ppl of the past set the bar that current athletes strive, or should strive to top. But i got mike all day in this case, i got to c both play @ there best w their best teams. armstrong was before my time but ive seen clips and read about him. he went from 123- 148, pac did 106-144. the biggest difference i can c was that armstrong fought many fights @ multiple divisions which makes it more impressive, he was cleaning out divisions.
he constantly fought as his record shows and can b the reason for many of his L's, if i look @ his rec there are not to many names im familiar w/ so i cant say alot were give me fites or not. bottom line he lost to a few and beat many so @ the end of the day he fought everyone in his respective divisions. he pulled wat cotto is doing just in multi divisions lol, and that wont be done again
cant take nothing from pac though, he has fought in more divisions than henry and opponents like(barrera, morales, marquez, cotto) are feathers in anyone cap @ any time. i think the comparison is made to emphasize both fighters greatness, the big picture might not be quite the same but the principle very similar, both go down as great fighters imo.
in the old days they went through everything in the ring and when people begin to notice that these fighters won regardless of the competition they had they will get an idea. What can be said is that Manny reminds us of a forgotton era where we had a clue of what people are capable of doing in the ring.
Manny is special and I'm his biggest fan but people need to do there homework on these older fighters and realise what they did in the time scale they had...it would be unthinkable for todays fighters to do what they did because people would say ''he can't go in the ring now...he needs more time to study the tapes...it's ok because he can fight that guy in 2 years when he's 100% sure he's going to win''...cont
Top video bro. I think some people just need to see and learn more about Michael. Michael was truly special...he's a hero to us all...an inspiration to every other player.. What he accomplished was extraordinary...like I said..just watch him people. The comparison between Henry and Manny is ridiculous...cont
pacquiao's 4 lineal championships * World flyweight champion-beating all top three flyweights. * World featherweight champion-beating marco antonio barrera. * World junior lightweight champion-beating JMM * World junior welterweight champion-hatton.
U mentioned that kids now a days saying that Kobe is greater than Jordan (not even born on that era), my question is, did u see Armstrong fight (apart from video)? do we know that media/writer on that day are not jumping into a bandwagon aswell,, do we know the level of fighters? we don't know is in it?? Lets just stop comparing,,,Also I believe that every era got different level of fighters. anyways good topic bro, peace
i agree with ashprix, people of this generation sometime just guess that the older generation were just too gud, no my friend, they were mortals like our generation.
Just as an example, compare the athletic side, new ones are stronger, faster, and more effective, all the records are broken, every year and they get respect, so why do you think sports is any different, new generation is faster, stronger and efficient, its just that we cant compare...
So that is why I believe that the records are getting broken like they are. Cause you really can't hold lock down Defense on these guys playing today.
sorry guyz Michel jordan is my favorite basket ball player of all time, nothings gonna change..lol..he is a freak of nature like manny pacquiao...i was just saying in athletics new guys break record all the time and you cant just assume that old generation is better...im NOT saying kobe is better than jordan...
Yeah they might be breaking records. You got to look at it like this the rules are set up in the NBA for offense. Back in the 80s and 90s you could hand check, push a man where you wanted him to go. You could close off the driving lane, the center could sag in the paint and wait for you to get by your man. All that stuff I just named you can't do now so it's easier for the new guys. I bet a prime Jordan can average 45 ppg with todays rules.
@Dmidgette1 i know im late but jordan didnt have to go up against a zone defense, the nba had illegal defense so there were more isolation opportunities. they both are good its just bogus to try to disregard kobe's era when jordan had advantages in his era.
@thos24 A zone defense. Teams in the NBA almost never use the zone defense. Ok look at old games the center could sag in the paint all he wanted why because it was no 3 three second violation. It wasn't any bogus foul calls back in the 90s. Coaches encouraged players to foul hard. The guys got it easy today compared to Jordan era. I don't disregard this era at all. I just don't think they are as good as Jordans era.
I disagree. It's been alot of rule changes in the NBA since I am gonna say 2000 until now. They have pretty stopped the flow of defense. You can't hold lock down defense on these guys of this era. Back in the 80s and 90s those guys played some rough and tough defense.
I'm not taking anything from the new school guys because I think that Lebron, Wade, Anthony, Paul and a few others could of played with those guys back then. Would they be as good as they are now is the question.
henry armstrong won 3 lineal titles of the 8 original weight classes..
manny pacquiao won 4 lineal titles of the 8 original weight classes..
henry armstrong was small in frame, was an orthodox boxer who had very less punching power, he was more like a motion machine that drained his opponents.
pacquiao was small or even smaller in size, is very unorthodox and very exciting fightin style and knock ppl out.even at higher weight classes..
who is greater, as per achievement, i say PACQUIAO!
I know the way people look at hatton as a bum now but he lost to two guys who would probably beat any fighters of any era..anyone else, he was always on top..
In that division, when the fight happened hatton was unbeaten, and was like that for 15 years..is he an all time great ? no
was he he the best at that time? Yes!
Tim bradley was up and coming at that point, At that point hatton would have beaten maidana, devon, kotelnic ect in most peoples eye.
i agree plus Pacquiao is the first to win 7 belts in 7 different weight classes and fighting guys much bigger and stronger than him so yeah i think Pacquiao is greater than armstrong
yeah....the reason why kobe resembles Jordan is because he studied Jordan and has been a huge fan since he was a kid himself........and i was looking at the individuals as far as pacquiao and armstrong and its just really hard for me to make that comparison because pacquiao has not had nearly enough fights for me to make a solid decision
Yeah, I agree. MJ revolutionize basketball and everybody knows here NBA fans that Kobe Bryant is gonna surpass MJ when he hangs his jersey someday. Back to boxing.you are really stupid Blood when it comes to breaking down Pacquiao,
Pacquiao-Armstrong. move up to multiple weight classes in a single year different weight classes then winning championships. I aint saying Pac is better than Armstrong, Im just saying "These are the only 2 fighters who did these things in boxing" your wrong blood
i disagree....first of all I respect your opinion....but Armstrong was truly fighting the best opposition when he did it....boxing has been watered down there are more belts today....more champions.....and more opportunity for a fighter that is simply growing and gaining weight to hold multiple championships.....i just dont understand how you guys dont see that....but i respect your opinion
I just hope these kids will learn to close their mouths when their ears should be open. No matter what your opinion, listen and respect a good teacher who puts in the time to educate. merry xmas mate
Kobe will never be as good as Jordan. Yes he's clutch and a better long range shooter. Overall game isn't nearly as good as MJ's. No need for debate here. Most everyone outside of SoCal won't even argue this.
@lfkk Check yours instead. Chicago swept Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals to get to the NBA Finals where they met the Lakers. That's what blood was referencing.
i think jordan would own kobe, i mean if jordan had shaq he probibly would have like 15 championships... now armstrong vs pacquiao, i think some1 would die in that fight i dont know who would win , armstrong was half native american and half son of a slave, pacquiao is a beast some1 would die in that fight
Kobe is great, the best player this Era hands down, as far as him being better then Jordan...HELL NO! can he be once his career is over? MAYBE but if your going by just Championships then neither Kobe or Jordan is the greatest you would have to go with Bill Russell if that is the case, I think some Kobe fans are just hoping that he wins more Rings then MJ and that will end the argument and that is not the case
like you said Jordan REVOLUTIONIZED the game of Basketball WORLD WIDE
his fans are eagerly waiting for kobe to have more rings than jordan.....but kobe has only led his team to one in my opinion....even if he gets 7 or 8 this will not end the debate bro
Whats good Blood?!.........Now thats "REAL TALK" right there.....Cause alot of these cats weren't around watching tv with the antenna watching Jordan absolutely destroy defenses.....
And the thing to me that SEPARATES Jordan from Kobe in my eyes is his closing ability, leadership qualities, and defensive qualities as well. Jordan could've won 8 str8 titles if he never retired..... Pacquiao compared to henry armstrong is LUDACRIS!
You are absolutely right, but still Kobe is still young and is gonna surpass MJ's career points my friend. i dont know about the rings, but I think L.A, gonna be champps again these season so that makes it 5. ^.^
Jordan averages over 5ppg higher in the regular season, and nearly 10ppg higher in the playoffs. The only reason Kobe will do that (if he stays healthy, big IF), is because Kobe came in as a teenager, and Jordan retired from the game in 93, and 98. Jordan left a lot of good years on the court due to his dad's death, and Jerry Krause. Jordan won 10 scoring titles, Kobe has 2. To compare Kobe to Jordan as a scorer is ridiculous.
also I love your words on kobe about him becoming a man and all that. is it cool if I use some of the audio from this vid on a kobe bryant vid im making? ur voice would sound great as the narrarator.
great vid. I am a huge kobe fan and believe he is the best ball player of all time. Not the greatest because Jordan accomplished more but his ball skills are unmatched even by the greatest MJ. and heres something to think about. The reason we can compare Kobe to Jordan and you cant compare pacman to armstrong is that Kobe doesnt choose his apponents like Pacquiao or other great fighters of today.
thats the problem we'll never know. I also believe players are bigger and more athletic today. Jordan never had to face a Lebron or Wade or even a melo. Karl Malone and Charles Barkley were some of the greats from jordans time and I dont think they compare to Lebron or Wade.
@BeasTxMode2000 Huh? How about Magic, Drexler and Dominique Wilkins? They match up. Also....I think Jordan's era consisted of some of the greatest guards ever. Besides Magic, look at Stockton, Isiah, Dumars, Gary Payton, Tim Hardaway, etc. Plenty of great talent to match up with Kobe's era. On top of all of that, Jordan's era was during a time when there were more great centers occupying the middle than at any other time in the history of the NBA- Robinson, Shaq, Kareem, Hakeem, Ewing.
i disagree about the guards. I would take Cp3, Nash, D Will over any of your guards. Weve seen how Payton matched up againts the best point guards of today. Not good.
the glove was way past his prime homie. dont mean to but in, but that isnt fair to say he doesnt match up well against todays guards. he was at his peak in the mid 90's throgh early 2000's. nash didnt really start to ball till the '01 season and Cp3 and Dwill are still new in this league. GP was the shit in his time.
he was a good defender but when he joined the lakers he was not past his prime. He got to start while fisher went to the bench and the glove didnt help the lakers for shit. Fisher finished most of the games because Payton couldnt make a basket.
Now common BeasTxMode2000.....we know that the glove was past his prime......i just dont understand how somebody could say that the guys today are better....look at that first dream team.....you could take your best basketball players today against them and it would be a great match up....i think that people look at these guys when they were at the end of their career....its the equivalence of judging sugar ray leonard when he fought camacho
i know nash came into the league in '97, but he wasnt ballin outta control yet. also, those guards like isaiah thomas, magic, tim hardaway were fuckin sick homie!!!! nobody runs fastbreaks like magic, tim hardaway made the klller crossover, and thomas paved the way for guys like Cp3 and allen iverson period.
yes sir.....many people fail to realize that athletes get old....they tend to measure their performance on what they saw last......that goes for jordan in a wizards uniform or roy jones in australia.....look at iverson.....it seemed like yesterday when he was the hot new star in the NBA....but he will get old too....just like the glove did
Lebron is maybe a little bit bigger than Jordan but Wade is smaller. You also got to realise Jordan was strong as a ox. I think with the way the rules are today. Shit Jordan would average 45 ppg.
Kobe's the best of all time & his skills are unmatched? SMH..wow LOL!!
I got 2 questions for ya:
1) why does his alleged "unmatched skill", NEVER translate into consistently superior on-court results for him?
2) if he's "more skilled" than MJ, why does he CONSISTENTLY produce INFERIOR on-court results than MJ in virtually ALL of the "skilled facets" of the game?
So the less skilled player (MJ) "just happened" to consistently produce superior on-court results & accomplish more?
All of you ignorant ass, delusional kobe stans are the same. You claim his skill is so superior to all others, but can't ever SHOW where it has EVER translated into consistently better RESULTS than those you say he's superior to. Then you try to label the other guy's era as "weak", in some juvenile attempt to level the field for kobe, totally forgetting that he ALSO played in that SAME allegedly "weak" era, and when his production from that era is highlighted, you have nothing to say then LOL!!
I'd even wager to bet that you're probably some dumb ass kid from canada, yemen or the philippines, because I've OFTEN found on these boards that it's you morons who tend to say the DUMBEST shit about kobe in relation to MJ..
So which is it?
I'm almost certain you're another 1 of these dumb ass filipino kids, because your commentary sounds EXACTLY like the kinda' idiotic shit I've come to experience from you morons LOL!!
today i play with kobe bryant

"kobe taking it to another level"
Yeah right..
If that were true, you'd be able SHOW US the consistently superior "next level" seasons from him to PROVE it.
Rookie MJ: 28ppg 6rpg 6apg 2.39spg 51.5 FG% [25.8 PER]
2009 kobe: 26ppg 5rpg 4apg 1.34spg 46.3 FG% [24.4 PER]
The PER, and the fact that MJ did this in a MUCH TOUGHER defensive era, says it all. Kobe's playing in a era with handicapped def rules & STILL can't consistently produce better on-court results, so what's that tell ya?

man that kobe shouldnt be in the same arena as mj... mj is the greatest bottom line..kobe is good but no were close to mj..i have a vid of this same subject yu should check it out
TheCpb23 2 years ago
@TheCpb23 as of today in the NBA kobe is the closest thing 2 MJ..nobody n todays basketball can do wat kobe does.,,81 pts? insane..but MJ is the greatest..kobe by the end of his career will be able 2 stack up nxt 2 MJ..but rite now he aint shit 2 MJ..
ImmaH60dstar 2 years ago
Sorry Kobe will not be able to stack up next to Jordan. He is no where near him now. Kobe is like 31 or 32 years old. Believe it or not he is one the down side of his career. He got maybe 3 or 4 more dominating years left in him and thats still not enough to catch Jordan. He may win 1 more ring and that's a big maybe. You are right when you say that he is the best player in the league right now it's no doubting that.
Dmidgette1 2 years ago
i think if there was no jordan then there would be no kobe.
NO player will ever have the same impact in the NBA than Jordan did.
dcvien 2 years ago 3
Man that's how i felt when KG won his championship. Sure he's no Jordan but I love and respect his game and his passion for the game.
DK505x 2 years ago
Great one, great reference. I can certainly relate to that. Pac n Kobe are certainly on the right path but they are not still not at home with the GOAT of Armstrong n Jordan respectively. Maybe 10 yrs down the road when they had retired, u see a better picture of whether they sit in the same special lounge.
miktoh 2 years ago
hahah...whats real weird, like you said in your videos, is how kobe wants to ACT, TALK, RIFF, MOVE, and PLAY like mike....mike changed the game around for the 2nd shooting guard position.

Peace.

Can't deny Kobes the best at the moment but MJ will always be the GOAT imo. Like the point/comparison you were making in the vid.

Great video man!
beatcavs09 2 years ago 2
I consider Armstrong above Pac in the alltime rankings, but that being said just becuz you have more fights(like all the fighters back in the day did) doen's't mean ur "better". For example Bhop has 50 wins and so does pacquiao even though Pac has fought 8yrs more than Pac. Or Jus becuz PBF has 40 wins zero losses, he's better than Sugar Ray Leonard, who retired 36-3-1...NOT the case! Records and number of fights isn't everything!
One.
SinCityMadman 2 years ago
EXACTLY! u took the words out of my mouth man. if records and wins meant everything then Rocky Marciano, Julio Ceasar Chavez jnr, Joe Calzaghe and Sven Okte are the best fighter ever pound for pound. LOL!

I was gonna say Jordan and Kobe are about the same, but when you win championships with Shaq as a teammate i cant give you that much credit. If Shaq was with the Bulls, Jordan would've had about 10 rings.

JORDAN greatest of ALL TIME. i think the best jordan was the mid 90's jordan when they surpassed 70 wins. a little less athletic than 80's and early 90's jordan but much smarter b-ball player with UNSTOPPABLE outside jumper and more clutch in the mid 90's. pac gets compared to armstrong bcuz both are known for jumping weight classes and winning titles. its IMPOSSIBLE for any boxer to fight 80+ times nowadays but... armstrong= feather, light, welter. pac= fly, bantam, feather, light, welter.
capulet916 2 years ago 2
I have to say i agree totally with everything you said there will never be another Jordan, bruce lee, dale earnhardt or any other great sports legend of our time all we can do is continue watch and enjoy these young catz do they thang and try their best to either emulate or duplicate what these legends of sport did.
jeffdesi1 2 years ago
This is the real talk right here. Jordon is the best and will be for a very long time. I think we will all be dead before we find another one that is better.
chocolaterain74 2 years ago
the early 90's Jordan was the only basketball i ever watched after he retired the first time I stopped watching basketball, realized afterwards how good he was 93' was crazy, me and all the neighborhood kids would listen to the bulls games on the radio outside and all pretend to be Jordan
strikehearts 2 years ago
Im not sure about the basketball players cause i dont know who they are, we dont watch basketball over here but i seen Micheal Jordan in Space Jam lol But i think old time boxers were better, much tougher but they didnt have the advantage of advanced sports science so its a tough question to awnser. But id pick old time sports people because the new greats learn from the old 1s.
marcusceltic 2 years ago
u have to use past athletes as measuring sticks, the ppl of the past set the bar that current athletes strive, or should strive to top. But i got mike all day in this case, i got to c both play @ there best w their best teams. armstrong was before my time but ive seen clips and read about him. he went from 123- 148, pac did 106-144. the biggest difference i can c was that armstrong fought many fights @ multiple divisions which makes it more impressive, he was cleaning out divisions.
cmurda51 2 years ago
he constantly fought as his record shows and can b the reason for many of his L's, if i look @ his rec there are not to many names im familiar w/ so i cant say alot were give me fites or not. bottom line he lost to a few and beat many so @ the end of the day he fought everyone in his respective divisions. he pulled wat cotto is doing just in multi divisions lol, and that wont be done again
cmurda51 2 years ago
cant take nothing from pac though, he has fought in more divisions than henry and opponents like(barrera, morales, marquez, cotto) are feathers in anyone cap @ any time. i think the comparison is made to emphasize both fighters greatness, the big picture might not be quite the same but the principle very similar, both go down as great fighters imo.
cmurda51 2 years ago
in the old days they went through everything in the ring and when people begin to notice that these fighters won regardless of the competition they had they will get an idea. What can be said is that Manny reminds us of a forgotton era where we had a clue of what people are capable of doing in the ring.
KASHLAMDA 2 years ago
Manny is special and I'm his biggest fan but people need to do there homework on these older fighters and realise what they did in the time scale they had...it would be unthinkable for todays fighters to do what they did because people would say ''he can't go in the ring now...he needs more time to study the tapes...it's ok because he can fight that guy in 2 years when he's 100% sure he's going to win''...cont
KASHLAMDA 2 years ago
Top video bro. I think some people just need to see and learn more about Michael. Michael was truly special...he's a hero to us all...an inspiration to every other player.. What he accomplished was extraordinary...like I said..just watch him people. The comparison between Henry and Manny is ridiculous...cont

Lineal Championship titles:
pacquiao's 4 lineal championships * World flyweight champion-beating all top three flyweights. * World featherweight champion-beating marco antonio barrera. * World junior lightweight champion-beating JMM * World junior welterweight champion-hatton.
pretty good to me..

Lets just stop comparing,,,Also I believe that every era got different level of fighters. anyways good topic bro, peace
ashprixx 2 years ago
@ashprixx
i agree with ashprix, people of this generation sometime just guess that the older generation were just too gud, no my friend, they were mortals like our generation.
Just as an example, compare the athletic side, new ones are stronger, faster, and more effective, all the records are broken, every year and they get respect, so why do you think sports is any different, new generation is faster, stronger and efficient, its just that we cant compare...
amigoajayz 2 years ago
@amigoajayz
just that we dont know how it would be played as they dont play together but from what we see on athletics, i say it would be an ass whopping!!!!!
new generation is faster, stronger and trained with better facilities that would just help the point that need the development and attention.
amigoajayz 2 years ago
@amigoajayz
So that is why I believe that the records are getting broken like they are. Cause you really can't hold lock down Defense on these guys playing today.
Dmidgette1 2 years ago
@Dmidgette1
sorry guyz Michel jordan is my favorite basket ball player of all time, nothings gonna change..lol..he is a freak of nature like manny pacquiao...i was just saying in athletics new guys break record all the time and you cant just assume that old generation is better...im NOT saying kobe is better than jordan...
i was referring to
amigoajayz 2 years ago
I WAS REFERRING TO MANNY vs ARMSTRONG DEBATE...
amigoajayz 2 years ago
Yeah they might be breaking records. You got to look at it like this the rules are set up in the NBA for offense. Back in the 80s and 90s you could hand check, push a man where you wanted him to go. You could close off the driving lane, the center could sag in the paint and wait for you to get by your man. All that stuff I just named you can't do now so it's easier for the new guys. I bet a prime Jordan can average 45 ppg with todays rules.
Dmidgette1 2 years ago 3
yes sir
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
@Dmidgette1 i know im late but jordan didnt have to go up against a zone defense, the nba had illegal defense so there were more isolation opportunities. they both are good its just bogus to try to disregard kobe's era when jordan had advantages in his era.
thos24 1 year ago
@thos24 A zone defense. Teams in the NBA almost never use the zone defense. Ok look at old games the center could sag in the paint all he wanted why because it was no 3 three second violation. It wasn't any bogus foul calls back in the 90s. Coaches encouraged players to foul hard. The guys got it easy today compared to Jordan era. I don't disregard this era at all. I just don't think they are as good as Jordans era.
Dmidgette1 1 year ago
@amigoajayz
Dmidgette1 2 years ago
I agree with you on that blood, Jordan cannot be compared to anyone and nobody could surpass his achievements.
ashprixx 2 years ago
henry armstrong won 3 lineal titles of the 8 original weight classes..
manny pacquiao won 4 lineal titles of the 8 original weight classes..
henry armstrong was small in frame, was an orthodox boxer who had very less punching power, he was more like a motion machine that drained his opponents.
pacquiao was small or even smaller in size, is very unorthodox and very exciting fightin style and knock ppl out.even at higher weight classes..
who is greater, as per achievement, i say PACQUIAO!
amigoajayz 2 years ago 2
@amigoajayz
THEN AGAIN I SAY,....LETS NOT COMPARE, BOTH ARE FROM DIFFERENT ERAS...
amigoajayz 2 years ago
but three of the four or questioned because of boxing's watered down politics.....do you really think that Hatton was the best in the division???
many of the questions had been answered in armstrong's day

@BloodBoxing

In the same context, LeBron averages a higher PPG average than Kobe, and LeBron is on a much faster scoring pace, will a Kobe fan admit that?
LeBronAkronJames 2 years ago
yeah....the reason why kobe resembles Jordan is because he studied Jordan and has been a huge fan since he was a kid himself........and i was looking at the individuals as far as pacquiao and armstrong and its just really hard for me to make that comparison because pacquiao has not had nearly enough fights for me to make a solid decision
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
Yeah, I agree. MJ revolutionize basketball and everybody knows here NBA fans that Kobe Bryant is gonna surpass MJ when he hangs his jersey someday. Back to boxing.you are really stupid Blood when it comes to breaking down Pacquiao,
Pacquiao-Armstrong. move up to multiple weight classes in a single year different weight classes then winning championships. I aint saying Pac is better than Armstrong, Im just saying "These are the only 2 fighters who did these things in boxing" your wrong blood
johnjeco 2 years ago
i disagree....first of all I respect your opinion....but Armstrong was truly fighting the best opposition when he did it....boxing has been watered down there are more belts today....more champions.....and more opportunity for a fighter that is simply growing and gaining weight to hold multiple championships.....i just dont understand how you guys dont see that....but i respect your opinion

gqunit69 2 years ago
Kobe is great, the best player this Era hands down, as far as him being better then Jordan...HELL NO! can he be once his career is over? MAYBE but if your going by just Championships then neither Kobe or Jordan is the greatest you would have to go with Bill Russell if that is the case, I think some Kobe fans are just hoping that he wins more Rings then MJ and that will end the argument and that is not the case
like you said Jordan REVOLUTIONIZED the game of Basketball WORLD WIDE
OTKP 2 years ago
his fans are eagerly waiting for kobe to have more rings than jordan.....but kobe has only led his team to one in my opinion....even if he gets 7 or 8 this will not end the debate bro

@BloodBoxing
585WeDaBest 2 years ago
shaq is the most dominant player of this era not kobe, cmon 6'6 guards that can score are a dime a dozen ,
kobe got 1 ring and in all honesty the NBA is fixed these days

johnjeco 2 years ago
yeah....but it will be easier for Kobe to surpass jordan's career points with no hand checking in today's game
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
Jordan averages over 5ppg higher in the regular season, and nearly 10ppg higher in the playoffs. The only reason Kobe will do that (if he stays healthy, big IF), is because Kobe came in as a teenager, and Jordan retired from the game in 93, and 98. Jordan left a lot of good years on the court due to his dad's death, and Jerry Krause. Jordan won 10 scoring titles, Kobe has 2. To compare Kobe to Jordan as a scorer is ridiculous.
LeBronAkronJames 2 years ago
also I love your words on kobe about him becoming a man and all that. is it cool if I use some of the audio from this vid on a kobe bryant vid im making? ur voice would sound great as the narrarator.

yes indeed bro......can't wait to see the vid
BloodBoxing 2 years ago

BeasTxMode2000 2 years ago
BeasTxMode2000 2 years ago 2
damn good point
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
the only problem is that you have to imagine what jordan would have did with today's rules
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
thats the problem we'll never know. I also believe players are bigger and more athletic today. Jordan never had to face a Lebron or Wade or even a melo. Karl Malone and Charles Barkley were some of the greats from jordans time and I dont think they compare to Lebron or Wade.
BeasTxMode2000 2 years ago
@BeasTxMode2000 Huh? How about Magic, Drexler and Dominique Wilkins? They match up. Also....I think Jordan's era consisted of some of the greatest guards ever. Besides Magic, look at Stockton, Isiah, Dumars, Gary Payton, Tim Hardaway, etc. Plenty of great talent to match up with Kobe's era. On top of all of that, Jordan's era was during a time when there were more great centers occupying the middle than at any other time in the history of the NBA- Robinson, Shaq, Kareem, Hakeem, Ewing.
BazookaIke 2 years ago 2
i disagree about the guards. I would take Cp3, Nash, D Will over any of your guards. Weve seen how Payton matched up againts the best point guards of today. Not good.
BeasTxMode2000 2 years ago
the glove was way past his prime homie. dont mean to but in, but that isnt fair to say he doesnt match up well against todays guards. he was at his peak in the mid 90's throgh early 2000's. nash didnt really start to ball till the '01 season and Cp3 and Dwill are still new in this league. GP was the shit in his time.
WesCo626B 2 years ago
he was a good defender but when he joined the lakers he was not past his prime. He got to start while fisher went to the bench and the glove didnt help the lakers for shit. Fisher finished most of the games because Payton couldnt make a basket.
BeasTxMode2000 2 years ago
yeah, he could still ball when he joined the lakers, but he wasnt nearly (not even close) as he was earlier in his career.
WesCo626B 2 years ago
Now common BeasTxMode2000.....we know that the glove was past his prime......i just dont understand how somebody could say that the guys today are better....look at that first dream team.....you could take your best basketball players today against them and it would be a great match up....i think that people look at these guys when they were at the end of their career....its the equivalence of judging sugar ray leonard when he fought camacho
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
i know nash came into the league in '97, but he wasnt ballin outta control yet. also, those guards like isaiah thomas, magic, tim hardaway were fuckin sick homie!!!! nobody runs fastbreaks like magic, tim hardaway made the klller crossover, and thomas paved the way for guys like Cp3 and allen iverson period.
WesCo626B 2 years ago
yes sir.....many people fail to realize that athletes get old....they tend to measure their performance on what they saw last......that goes for jordan in a wizards uniform or roy jones in australia.....look at iverson.....it seemed like yesterday when he was the hot new star in the NBA....but he will get old too....just like the glove did
BloodBoxing 2 years ago
Lebron is maybe a little bit bigger than Jordan but Wade is smaller. You also got to realise Jordan was strong as a ox. I think with the way the rules are today. Shit Jordan would average 45 ppg.
Dmidgette1 2 years ago
Kobe's the best of all time & his skills are unmatched? SMH..wow LOL!!
I got 2 questions for ya:
1) why does his alleged "unmatched skill", NEVER translate into consistently superior on-court results for him?
2) if he's "more skilled" than MJ, why does he CONSISTENTLY produce INFERIOR on-court results than MJ in virtually ALL of the "skilled facets" of the game?
So the less skilled player (MJ) "just happened" to consistently produce superior on-court results & accomplish more?
Idiot..
