@MattWiles30 well ! i play my pieces anytime in a different way and most of my live act are basicly like this ! but i consider also any mood you need to tune your soul according to your wires and instruments and this is a great privilege for your body and mind and you have to respect god for that huge gift !!! and I repeat fot my last time the bassplayer in this video really ain't in mood with petrucciani so i dislike his way of playing ... that's it for me !
The thing with Miles is that his solos were like new compositions. When I hear someone quoting Miles, I want to hear the entire original solo!! It's like that live version of Stella by Starlight (Four&More). The theme itself played by Miles becomes much more interesting than the original. His perception of time/melody was just astounding...
@jazzguy26 We are so used to Miles' chorus that it has nearly became an inner theme, a jazz national anthem, and it's always surprising to hear something else.
perfection.

Anthony's first notes are amazing. I also love what he does at 0:20,... anyone have an idea what he does, and what his EQ is to obtain that tone?

Did any one hear him use Miles' lick from the original track in minute 1:58?
jazzguy26 2 years ago 26
yes, he quotes a few notes of the original track.

What I like so much with Oscar too,
sometimes 1 note in 2 seconds and still swinging
or just grooving because of that
- - - - - and the staccato - - - amazing
-
Hiromi knows that too . . .
going to try that . . . .
going to try the whole piece
