i don't know who you are, but whilst i was 14, i threw a 4kg at both the english schools championships and the english championships the two most prestigious events that an u15 can compete in in this country. Now that i have turned 15, i am now and u17, who throw a 5kg.

I'm no expert on the hammer throw, but it is hard to miss the pure beauty of this performance. Style, grace, speed, and what appears to me to be maximum athletic efficiency. The technique has to be near perfect. Pound for pound, it's hard to imagine someone getting more power. Her wind-up alone is worth watching.

First of all, women's bodies are built much different compared to men's. The fact that ohedd is comparing himself to women in how far he can throw the 4k implement doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

In a recent interview with Anatoly Bondarchuk (Coach of Youri Sedykh and Sergei Litvinov), he states that women have the ability to throw 80m+ with the right system of training.

So women can't throw? The experts as well as myself disagree with that statement.

women cant throw. I know she is hell of a lot stronger than I am, but she cant throw further anyway. I see big techniqal tick-tacks such as, releasing her right foot too early in entry, overrotation, looking at the hammer (not pushing the radius with head), not leaning back to increase radius. Could go on like this forever... look at the men. they never screw up like she does. the fact that this is a winning throw at the world champs makes me kinda frightened...

She can throw as far as she did based on radial speed alone. In essence, the hammer is very simple. She does all the simple things correctly, so I wouldn't criticize her. Everyone has a different throwing technique.. my coach has run clinics with world record holder Yuri Sedych and Yuri tells people NOT to throw like how he did. So, everyone has a style that is specific to their body type and body strengths.

True.. but cutting the dynamic piece of a hammerthrow is a very stupid thing to do, just to have your own style. The hammerthrow has three basic "rules" they are: Radius, Tempo and rotational axis. Mainly, she's got all this, but what she misses is the fact that she doesn't build them all up through out the throw. Build velocity, build radius and keep rotational axis BUT build the "cone-shape" with you rotating around the hammer. Her head doesn't work. Its in the same place through out the throw
