Hey dude, I currently drive a Cobalt SS Turbocharged and make over 310whp 377wtq (getting dyno'd tomorrow, but currently at 310/377). Not sure what I'm at now, I just added a couple more performance mods. Anyway, I'm kind of sick of driving around with a lot of power and no refinement. So I'm really considering a Scion TC, Civic SI, GTI or MS3. Anyway, how reliable is a Turbo Scion?
It's honestly not a bad system. People commenting on this video are acting like it's SS Auto Chrome or XS Power quality. It's not.
Also, just because something is manufactured in China, doesn't mean it's poor quality. China has good suppliers and bad manufacturers, just like anything.
Well it all depends on if you are putting a kit together your self or buying a kit. if you get a kit then most of them come with injectors. if your doing your own turbo kit get injectors. Also, look at getting a fuel return system.
its good for people that are highly modded and/or are guys that go to the track quite often. it is finicky when it comes to the weather and about tuning, i didnt do it.
The Treadstone turbo is tiny, it appears to be a .40 a/r turbine housing, with a .42 a/r compressor housing, a very small turbine wheel, and very small compressor inducer/exducer.
7psi on this car made 256whp/250fltbs, even Treadstone rates their kit at 6psi at 216whp. I'd say this car did great.
you spent all that money building it and ruined it with the treadstone kit...not saying anything bad but thats the worst complete turbo kit on the market .....i hate to see you get numbers that could be WAY better....sell that kid to some high school kid with a tc and invest in a ptuning turbo kit or....dezod ...i would say turbotoyotas but they take forever....please upgrade that kit
Meh, can't argue with 320whp/335ftlbs on not even a bar (i.e. it made those numbers on 12psi).
We modified the kit pretty extensively, and removed any of the "bottle necks" in the kit. The intercooler piping was modified, the downpipe/exhaust was modified, and we custom tuned it on AEM EMS. It'll do fine for now, we are working on the plans for going bigger.

If it works for him/her its all that matters, i personally prefer Dezod ! But good job.
only i thing, i would expect more hp from 12 psi honestly. But i guess depends on the turbo in the kit and how agrssivly its tuned.
