Sorry you don't like the video. I know the speakers are high. I did this to line them in the middle of the TV for looks only... Yes, it is not optimal but I personally did not want them looking out of place, they still sound great to my douchie ears.
@kkeithan I don't think they are too high. You want them even with the TV so it actually sounds like the sound is coming from the TV, not below it. Just angle the speakers towards the listeners ears. It''ll still look good that way.
@kkeithan man the elite the best . iTS WORTH THE CALIBRATION bcause u can get a better pix if u r really anal and i am . as far as the set-up its your house n the people who dont like should lick your ass.

@TheMartylogan Why the fuck do you even take the time to write such an immature post. You have no fucking leg to stand on by calling him a douche bag when you've just come on and posted a douchebag post. So STFU!
I ordered the cables from monoprice. I had a hometheater company run the wires in the wall and mount the TV. I have an unfinished basement so it was fairly easy to run the wires.
Hey, very awesome setup I have 2 questions. First, would this system with a harman kardon avr 1600 receiver be over kill for a 10x10 room?. Second, how high above ear level should i place my surround speakers. I saw yours were fairly high, is that because of the height in the room or for the affect?
I placed the speakers high so that they were exactly in the middle of the TV. This is not optimal but it looks nice and the sound is fine in the room. The family room is a step down and while in the kitchen the speakers are at ear height.
Yes the speakers are mounted high but I did this to line them in the middle of the TV for looks only. They sound fine since I am far away when watching movies and TV. Optimally you want them around ear height.
As for the Harman receiver, I say you can never got over kill :)
I had this question because I read something about the HP media smart center and they have just a ethernet port, this connection delivers a good quality? Can go directely to the TV(that models with a LAN port)?
Your videos show Home Data Center - Drobo Pro in your garage, how do you put the files in your TV, do you get HD?
Your 20 foot cable, needs some sort of converter to preserve the quality?
The center and the fronts on the CT 110 have 2x4" speakers where the procinema only has the center with 2x4" speakers.
For 2channel listening like cds and mp3 it will make a big difference. The subs are both 10" but the CT has 450Watts vs 350Watts on the Def, could make a difference but I haven't demo'd the def 1000.
Either way you are going to get a great set of speakers.
your running 200 true watts to those little speakers wow thats all i can say

Great video, how you connect the receiver and PC to the TV?
thanks
ocoimbra 2 years ago
Thanks for commenting. The receiver is the central connection point for all my equipment.
PC and cablebox connect to my receiver via HDMI. The Wii connects via RCA cables.
The receiver has an HDMI out for video to the TV. I had a home theater company, ESS Home systems in New Jersey, run the 20foot cable to the Pioneer.

is your co workers soundsystem on here?
andersonjjj333 2 years ago
No, they have nothing close. I think they have a nice TV, Sammy LCD, but a home theater in a box surround sound system.
I do like a few HTIB systems like the higher end onkyo setups, but you are much better off buying speakers and a receiver, only my opinion.

i agree cant wait to see more of your system

Im in the market and the CT 110's are in my budget, how do these stack up to the Def Tech procinema 1000.
Mizfitz1481 2 years ago
I think they stack up quite well.
The center and the fronts on the CT 110 have 2x4" speakers where the procinema only has the center with 2x4" speakers.

What is the rest of your setup?

Thanks for the reply, I have decided to go with paradigm monitor series, Atom monitor fronts, CC-190 center, ADP rears and a DSP10 sub.
Mizfitz1481 2 years ago
WOW, that is a step up. Nice!

@kkeithan
Suprisingly I got all that for $1400 from a dealer in PA.

Thanks for commenting. I am currently working on getting the 5670 Radeon to bitstream audio to the receiver...it is always something.
