Probably the album that was least influenced by Phil but his playing a vocals are as inspiring as ever. The band almost split up because of Phil's divorce so Tony and Mike did most of the writing but Phil really sang his best here.
this song and the whole way the album comes together. Misunderstanding sucks but the rest of the album is top shelf.
@canterrob123: Yeah, I thought so too. I thought it at the time. No wonder people who never actually listened to an entire Genesis album thought Genesis "got cheesy." Their cheesy stuff sold. Their epic stuff didn't even get played. What can I say? Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the masses.
I love these remasters!

There were, of course, two versions of this song, but this was the only one worth a hoot.

@shire2005 Come to think of it, though I got swept by Misunderstanding, it does tottally suck!!

@shire2005 Isn't it ironic that Misunderstanding was the big hit off this album?

This whole album is amazing and this just grabs you the first time you hear it. Sets the whole mood for the rest of this masterpiece album.
