Raw ,back then used to do One live show on Monday, then on tuesday tape the following weeks Raw. so Raw actually only did 2 Live shows a month.... this piece was actually taped 5 days before he actually won the belt. because Rick Rude was pissed the way Brett got screwed... he left WWF right after that pay-per view and was on Nitro the very next night.... im sure you can find it under "Rick rude goes to nitro".. where he explains why he left.....

It follows Bret around the last year of his time with WWF. Bret actually kept his wire on during a meeting with McMahon right before the match with Michaels.

Well yea, he didn't care to hand the title over, but theres a difference between handing it over and actually losing, and he just didn't want to lose to Shawn. If it was anyone but Shawn, I'm sure he would've been ok with it.

True Bret felt Shawn owed him a win n certainly didn't want Shawn to beat him that night...But the fact is he told Vince "I'm NOT losing in Canada". He wouldnt have done it regardless, altho I'm sure having it be HBK further cemented that notion. He refused even tho Vince told him he can't leave with the belt, which is why he said he'd "drop" it to Shawn.....

I love the Hitman but he's smart enough and respectful enough to know that you ALWAYS put someone over during your last match in a promotion. Imagine if he had won, then just said "here Shawn take the belt" then showed up on WCW...itd basically be telling the fans "dont watch WWF cuz their best guys cant hang with WCW"....If I was Vince there's no way in hell that would happen. They tried to negotiate, Bret wouldnt budge. Even if it was an opponent he liked, its still unlikely he would have

If this was taped a week before the montreal screwjob how could have Bret and Rick Rude not have seen it coming? Surely Bret wouldn't have agreed to this promo being aired? Bret had a clause in his contract that gave him creative control; as far as he was concerned Shawn Michaels wasn't going to win the belt at SS, he had planned on there being a run-in and a DQ, and then vacate the belt the next night on raw on his own terms. Theyve given the finish of SS a week in advance!?

if you remember. Raw ,back then used to do One live show on Monday, then on tuesday tape the following weeks Raw. so Raw actually only did 2 Live shows a month.... this piece was actually taped 5 days before he actually won the belt. because Rick Rude was pissed the way Brett got screwed... he left WWF right after that pay-per view and was on Nitro the very next night.... im sure you can find it under "Rick rude goes to nitro".. where he explains why he left.....

@champion909 this match was supposed to end on a dq and the next raw he was going to surrender the title,bret refused to drop the title to michaels in montreal and michaels refused to lose to bret rumores emerged that shawn had even faked a injury so he didnt had to lose to bret at wrestlemania 13,mcchaon came up with this plan because he was anxious to strip the wwf title from bret before we went to wcw and because of the problems between bret and shawn, YOU JUST GOT SCHOLLED!!!

Like I've been saying, if wwe is comfortable of showing something or releasing it on dvd, it was clearly FAKE(Screwjob). @jhammaster smh there was no proof that Owen's accident was caused by the wwe. Bret Hart was going to another company and expected to keep the title lol!!! Once again there was no difference between the screwjob and the cm punk angle. The only difference is that cm punk signed a contract extension and Bret didn't, so Vince decided to capitalize and promote himself as a bigger heel with the fans after Bret left. Death in the wwe is real and this isn't so I don't get your point dummy!!!

@dirty117 the only reason why he was going to WCW was because McMahon pulled out of their contract. He actually turned down a WCW contract about 8 months prior. Plus in the contract they had, Bret had complete creative control during the last 30 days of his tenure. watch the documentary "Bret Hart: Wrestling with Shadows." It follows Bret around the last year of his time with WWF. Bret actually kept his wire on during a meeting with McMahon right before the match with Michaels.
