god damn...that checkride is coming. Its been a whole year since I started flight training. Just finished the long solo x about 2 weeks ago. 10 solo hrs are done. Already did one practice checkride flight. tomorrow I will have my second. hopefully I'll never have a fourth practice checkride. some advice please. this is daunting stuff. oral exam, flight, etc.
Theres not much you can do but study and practice. You're going to get nervous whether you like it or not, but try not to let it mess with the decisions you make.
lol man it still hasn't happened. Cant believe that comment was 4 weeks ago. damn, time flies. The checkride was scheduled for last weekend, then rescheduled for today, and since the weather was crap today I guess maybe it'll happen next weekend. I cant wait to get this over with. Whole damn year doin this. I'd better pass it....and unfortunately I'm gonna have a 4th practice checkride...idk what im gonna do if thats not my last time practicing
L-29...thats not that great... a J-3 is harder to fly... 150/152/172...pretty much the same airplane... now the Christain eagle... if you dont got a lot of tail wheel time that will be a eye opener...man I aint talking smack I just want to bring back the art of flying...like stearmans, pitt's, t-6... and the kind I learned in PA-12 150hp with flaps and super cub tail...I am a fourth generation pilot so I can talk the talk and walk the walk
see brother you got it all wroong... lets say I did get into a cloud in my J-3...learning to fly in the J-3 gives me a much better "feel" for the airplane, plus the J-3 taught me what the turn cordinator is... brother I dont just find myself in the clouds... I just dont "find" myself in bad situations...heres a little advice..."It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there then it is to be up there wishing you were down here" read stall spin and safty by sammy mason
Maybe... "girly", but my C-152 /U allowed me to get my ppl for $6000 including a bunch of crap in my flight bag that looks cool and the occaisional lunch for my CFII. Now I have money left over to move up, obviously you'll do some acro at some point... Girly... lol you funny.
@BlazzingSaber No, it was dollars not percent, note "including a bunch of crap in my flight bag" aka- GPS, CX2, transceiver, PCAS, noise canceling headset, hell I even had a $100 flashlight. Now is it still a rip off men?
Congrats! I just passed my Private checkride on July 14, 2008... also one year from the date I soloed. It feels great to get that license at 17 doesn't it?
just got back from passing my checkride, just wondering how old you are when you got you PPL

lets reintroduce the art and rid of the "macho" attitude which only contributes to the statistics.
You can walk the walk, but when you and your J-3 get in to a cloud I can only hope you can do the same and walk away from it.
Good luck!

the warning sounds a few knots before you actually stall, so I guess you can call it minimums.
