  • I completely agree with previous posts!!

  • Feeding wild animals is bad because they get to trust humans, and humans are the enemy in most cases. A bear that trust an human is a dead bear

  • Assuming it doesn't have a mother is not a smart thing. And even if it is, don't feed it, and call the Game Warden, who will make sure it will be cared for - relocated - and kept away from people. Feeding wildlife will creature problems for not just yourself, but your neighbors as well. They can and will become aggressive if they do not get what they are after... This was not a smart move...

  • don't be stupid, don't feed them

  • Great footage, that cub is a cutie.

I would think berries or nuts would be a better feed choice than meat. Or does the meat offer nutrients the cub is missing from the mother's milk?

Thanks for looking out for this bear.

  • awww so cute, I hope you sent it to the taxidermist before it got too big.

  • A fed bear is still a live bear. If you poison a bear it will be dead. Bears make good chums, and they are citizens of the woods with urban manners. Like people, bears can develop territorial problems. Sometimes your ass is the victim. Ouch !

  • a fed bear is a dead bear.

    Nice work.

  • actually that bear can manage all by itself even at this young age. there only about 40 pounds when they leave there mother after 1.5 years of age and can survive when there smaller if need be.

  • All you people that are whining about him feeding a bear really need a reailty check. Animals are not as simplistic as you think or have read about. First off this bear was probably fucked to begin with but even if it wasn't , they aren't as simple as people imagine. They don't forget how to forage or stupid shit like that and they also don't asociate all humans with food. Animals are masterful in there ability to read intentions and body language. I'm saying this from 18 yrs of feeding animals

  • It's a wild animal. You are treating it like a temporary pet, for you amusement. Then you want it to dance for you. Then you send it on it's way. The baby bear will associate people with getting fed and perhaps get shot, just like it's mother. The excuse we are sentenced to die at birth is weak. You and your family are cruel.

  • coyotes probably got him later on. or a larger bear. or, a zoo-conservation park snagged him and hes on easy street! i hope!

  • Morons.

  • Hi , I'm french , and here we have no wild animals to see , I would thank you for posting this video , I had lot of pleasure watched it , you did a good thing to fed him , the bear was so young , thank you 1000000 times for this gorgeous moment . You are lucky to live in such beautifull country. Sorry for my bad english .

  • OMG ITS SOOOOO CUTE!!!! :D

  • now the mother will never take it back

  • I wish that bear would have stripped that kids dick off. Then I would have been glad to watch this.

  • @LeafFreedom Idiot.

  • a fed bear is a dead bear. this bear is one day going to go to a bus stop full of kids with lunches looking for food. if the bears hungry, which is will be because it doesnt know how to forage, it'll get the food one way or another

  • ok and when u said orphaned u should have taken it to the zoo or something so it would havbe a home :( i feel so bad for it

  • wait can a black bear hurt a dog !!???

  • Awww don't put him to sleep, give him to me. He's such a cutie. :)

  • OMG, the cub obviously had no mother to give it milk SO SHUT IT. It was hungry, wouldn't you go up to a person for HARMLESS food if your mother died and couldnt give you milk? YES you would. SO SHUT IT.

  • ugh can we just watch the guy feed the fucking bear!!! why do all these self called experts have to come out of the wood work and ruin it.

  • That was the cutes the i ever seen in the whole world

  • what happened to the bear since this video was taken ? did it keep coming back ?

  • Should have adopted him if u fed him

  • I did not post what is under my email below/above... I do agree that a fed bear is a dead bear. Yes, I have read what you wrote about this, and you are just encouraging ignorant people to think this is okay. So as far as the name calling is concerned, you should look in the mirror. You are not teaching anyone anything positive by showing this. You are just encouraging people to act in the same ignorant way.

  • A fed bear is a dead bear.

  • is he still living at this area?

  • Amen brother could have not said it any better.

Ya the little cub is sweet but feeding him is a death sentence for him in the future if he does make it to an adult bear.

  • Nice work asshole. Just like TheNiceperson2 said, now if this little fella does survive, he's not scared of humans. When he's nice and big he'll come back and rip your face off when you don't feed him.

  • @countrygentleman10 It's no wonder the world is in the state it's in. It's full of people just like you.

  • That's cute. I wish I had a tame bear like that as a pet. Very nice video wellingtonjwf - showing that not all bears fall into the usual stereotype of being man-eating beasts. =)

  • you should have kept him :D

  • thanks for your two cents crackernunber2

  • I wanna see what happens in a year ya idiot when you have

a 250 pound dinner guest. Of course the bear will be shot a

and you can go around telling everyone how brave you were

while protecting your family for that big bully. Stop feeding

    the bloody bear ya twit

  • Needless to say, that's a pretty unique experience and a great video. Thanks for sharing.

  • nice vid mate! i love bears! i really wonna go to america to see em! its good to see your nice to em!:)

  • why does everybody have to comment.... there is always has to be a know it all bunch of fucking losers who HAVE to put there 2 cents in.

  • @crackernumber2 Just like you are right now? Idiot...

  • Bears are not what most people think. For REAL information on what black bears are like, go to bear.org and read the research updates and watch the den cams. They are very sweet-natured animals who would rather run away than attack. What most people have been taught about bears is wrong.. . VERY wrong.

  • @annamaria2500 have you seen the video on youtube called "Country Singer Troy Gentry Kills Tame Bear"

  • @sohcsarewicked I think I can live happily my entire life without watching someone kill a bear. Just read the descriptions and it's not something I could stomach. Two of the radio-collared bears I've been following were killed this year and that was bad enough.

  • @annamaria2500 Hi actually please watch it, its not a video of actual killing its a video about how the hunter was exposed as a low life......no killing involved I think you will like it how they expose that scumbag. They have other good videos of how they are exposing cruel hunters on thier channel too.

  • @sohcsarewicked Don't think I could stomach that.

  • Thevampire hey dumbass that ain't a puppy that's a lil black bear do some research before u say somethin clearly his feet an claws gives it away his broad shoulders that's 2 the way he walks that's 3 look again numbnuts

  • Comment removed

  • Not a smart thing to do mama bear is close by

  • the bear is already tame

  • Dude thats a good one. guys look closely thats a puppy! lol it is look at that

  • never spose 2 feed a bear

  • awsome i think u did the right thing he would have starved to death! i would have petted him and loved on him more though! such a cutie and a rare thing 2 get 2 do im jealous! i also am from idaho, i didn't know we had bears there ,what part are u from?

  • Funny that you called him "Boo Boo", because my husband and I call ALL of the bears here "Boo Boo". Just be VERY careful with what you are doing there. Maybe you should take Baby Boo Boo down to a river steam and teach him how to fish. lol

  • For the first day we were very cautious that the mother may be arround, as they usualy are. We soon heard that a bear and her cub were visiting other homes when someone shot the mother either for protection or because it was open season for bears at that time. It is unlawful to shoot a bear with a cub so we hope it wasn't the latter. We could only assume that this was the now motherless cub because no mother bear ever showed up.

  • @wellingtonjwf what ever happened to it?

  • @wellingtonjwf How did this end-did it get to a rehab facility?

  • @wellingtonjwf Hey Wellington, don't mind the ignorant misinformed, name dropping intellects. They wouldn't know s**t if they were sitting in it. I would also guess they're semi illiterate just by the fact they couldn't read the captions. It's true that it's a dangerous occupation,(messing with cubs) due to the peril you put yourself into should the sow be nearby.Orphaned cubs usually don't survive,so as far as I'm concerned you made no difference. Great video. It was fun to watch, thanks.

  • How did you know whether or not the cub was motherless? (Not being a smartass, honestly want to know; was it visiting other people?)

  • i wonder why he wont stop following because you fed him and now he thinks you would have more food so he tries to fight it out of you

  • awww so cute. if bears stayed that little, i would have one as a pet.

  • @Renee11123 I know what ya mean Renee! We have lots of Boo Boo Bears that come around our house, and even had one look into our kitchen window at us. It's so very scary, and we must really learn to respect the bears. But, I do understand what you are saying, because they are VERY cute when they are that small.

  • If would stay bout that size id keep the lil bugger around, as for the comments fuck me theres alot of dicks who s head are so swelled they cant make it through the door!!

  • Awesome video.

  • this was too cute!!

  • wow , thats so awesome , i would love to feed a bear cub by hand without mama bear eating me. that is so cute

  • what happened with him and his mom?

  • did all you people bitching read the description first ?? there was/is no mother bear- the bear has been orphaned for whatever reason. Dont feed it ?? how effing heartless could you be to let a young creature starve to death ! ! ??

So damn cute- its presents a real dilemma when the little guy starts gettin bigger.

Unless you want to be the "Grizzly Adams" of your neighborhood and have a huge ass pet bear...

  • The cub has already associated food with people, look at the cub as it continues follow and looking for more hand outs. The cub is a wild animal not a domestic pet. I admit all new borns and 1 year old animals look very innocent, cute and cuddly including the most verocious of beasts. Remember when they get old enough to become dangerous and life threatening they won't look as cute and cuddly anymore. So keep wild animals wild by not hand feeding them.

  • Despite all the criticisms here, i want to say THANK U 4 SHARING...it is educational to know how an orphan bear reacts to humans...& it would be nice to know what happens to him.

  • nice job buddy. you should be fined because every idiot knows that black bear love humans for food. Great, now some kid will be hiking in the woods, and little cutie pie there will be 650 lbs and think its you and want food.

The bear does not care who has the food, it just wants food....you are very irresponsible for doing this.

  • wow

  • aw!~~~ so cute, it look like a teddy bear ^^

  • He is so cute! i love him! I hope you guys helped him...

  • thats cool and all but only the bear will suffer from this it will end up dead from lack of fear from humans

  • but if not fed he would have still suffered because he is too young to find food himself.

  • Lets hope he called the local Game Warden.

Stop pointing your fingers, maybe he simply did not understand the nature between human over population and the Bear.

  • How sad. This little cub should have been rescued if it is away from it's mother. This man and his wife are irresponsible. DO NOT FEED BEARS. He should have contacted animal rescue.

  • Let's shoot this guy before somebody shoots the cub or its mother.

First of all, what if it's mother came running along and attacked you? Secondly, what if this bear grows up, comes back to town for food, attacks somebody, and gets shot?

  • Oh Oh, you have just created a monster.

  • Great. Cub associates food with several Humans.

Cut get bigger walks up to human for more food. Duh. what do you expect cub to do. You showed him where to get food!

Next time the the farmer down the road shoots the intruding big adult bear. Great. I thought farmers were smarter than that? In West Milford, NJ we dont tempt our cubs.

  • @TheNiceperson2 what where they supposed to do, let it starve? like they said, it was orphaned, winter was coming, and local game and wildlife people where busy at the moment. it changes little if he is reintroduced to the wild, adult bears don't have much fear of people anyways. chances are, however, he'll end up in a zoo as he'll have a higher likelyhood of survival.

  • This is a ridiculous way to feed this poor bear cub. It's obvious that this guy wants it to stand.

  • If the mom saw you then it would fucking kill you, most people know not to feed them by hand, just put the food on the groung or in a plate.

  • This is not cute nor is it funny. The poor cub is as good as dead once it leaves this family.

    Two questions:

    1. Where is the mother sow?

    2. Who is going to feed the bear as it gets older?

A fed bear is a dead bear! As far as I am concerned; these people now own the bear! I hope they are willing to provide for it. Only a bear expert would be able to care for it and reintroduce it back into the wild.

  • That is the coolest thing in the world!! haha I just want to give him a cuddle.

  • ant it were theres a blil bear there a mom bear?? lol

  • you should have wrestled with the bear cub, train him.

  • when you feed a wild bear , you already killed it. Just that one piece of meat he learned to look to humans for food, it might look cute now, But when he is fully grown He will be put down...

  • What is that bear cub doing on it's own to begin with?

  • I've seen alot of negative comments on this video and I think they're all ridiculous. Quit being SO overly-protective of wildlife, guys! geez. this is a cute video with a neat interaction between people and bear cub. I enjoyed watching it very much. Thanks for posting!

  • I think it was wrong of you not to report the bear cub to someone. They could have taken care or put it to sleep. Sad thing to leave it alone.

  • I think it was kind of you to feed it, and with the decline of bears in nature, no I do believe at all it was destined to die. Saving one bear would make up for the many that have been wrongfully killed. I really hope it is not dead, that would be a waste of life for bears. And why are people angry with you? You showed mercy to something that was in need. I hope that you kept feeding it.

  • I know why we should not feed bears, but, this was an amazing interaction. Thanks for posting. I would have loved to have been there. So cute.

  • Awesome vid!

  • No mom? Bummer =-(

  • i don't think you should have feed it. There's a lot of consequences...

  • Too bad I didn't receive any of them? Life goes on... get a grip. It was great, no one else gets a bear up close and personal. Anyone bothered by this misses out on a cool experience. How many people can honestly say they've been bitten by a bear? So sue me, I disobeyed the unwritten tree-hugger law that says don't feed wild animals... yet here I am... proof of failed rumors...

  • ok, I duly apologize, i should have read all the information on the page. However, this is the kind of video that gives people ideas regarding feeding wildlife, and as cute as he is, it is irresponsible IMHO. And bear after bear has been destroyed because of human conflict, and I still think this should not be on youtube. You need to think about the effects of what you post.

  • You are an idiot. And you are probably responsible for the bears eventual death, because he will associate people with food. Shame on you! You are lucky Momma didn't come after you.

  • Careful with the name calling. If you would have bothered to read the information from the beginning you would know that the motherless bear was destined to die. If it hasn't allready been put to sleep by authorities or has a life simililar to the Grizzly bears in your favorited videos. When you get older you may learn better manners.... oh wait you are already 49

  • @wellingtonjwf I have been watching carefully to document the location of Net Trolls. Note the problems reading In this case, the part where it says "motherless" completely escapes the Troll's attention.

This is because they are looking for ways to create/provoke a situation. This is the common Youtube Troll, homo letrans, or "barking man" as opposed to the type found on barstools, homo aromatos, or "stinking man."

  • @wellingtonjwf the bear center you are referring to is down here in garden city (by boise). right in the middle of some very high end neighborhoods.

  • @wellingtonjwf We are all destined to die. Sentenced to death at birth.

  • @patjoenkids stfu u nub. ur stupid. he didnt kill the mom probably.

  • @patjoenkids I hope the kids are better educated than the parents here. I'm sure they know how to call others unsavory names very well. You've set a fine example. I'm sure others will notice the trend when your kids are teaching their kids from the wonderful lessons taught them.

  • Thats it feed that bear bud. You know what you all should do? When ever he gets bigger and mauls one of you, the one that lives needs to tape the other ones funeral!!LOL!

  • Then you can put it on YouTube!

  • Yea and then internet trash talkers without any integrity can comment on it! Like you! :D Yay!

  • you've got to be the most irresponsible and straight stupid person on youtube.what if the mom came around and you were playing friends with its cub? you woulda got your ass mauled all stupid like.....dumbass!!!!!!

  • The mom was killed. Read the video info before you post next time.

  • well it didn't so don't you feel stupid

  • Then u wonder why it's following you....hum.....maybe because u and u're inbred mother are feeding it. Gee that's a clue.

  • Amazing that humans r so stupid. U just signed that bears death warrant. While it is cute now, it won't be in a few months when it comes back & mauls u're whole family.

  • Your having the wildlife people rehab it is wonderful. What an adorable little tyke. Evidently many of the moms are hit by cars, shot or meet an untimely demise in other ways. There isn't another animal that can match a bear cub for cuteness in my opinion. I have become an avid bear fan thanks to Knut and donate my art on webshots (karenvstefanini) for bear protection. I adore bears even though they do possess less than savory foibles at times.

  • wut a bout a pug puppy D: lol they're adorable

  • Sure it's cute, but this bear is now classifiable as a "Problem Bear". It could come back to human areas to look for more food. Bears are smart, but if there's one thing that they CAN'T do is UNLEARN.

  • then again, if (as you said) you notified the authorities and gave him to the "bear rehabilitation center", maybe he's alright..

    I hope so anyway! :)

  • This bear is going to die!

  • why?

  • I think that you are all morons! According to Frank Schlavacklson of the National Geographic Institute for Bears, bears that are fed by humans tend to teach the other bears that humans have food too. Because of you dummies, there will be a barrage of bears attacking humans! love, Steve

  • If this baby is too young to be on it's own, you should call wildlife rescue. Otherwise, DON'T FEED WILD BEARS!! It's bad for the bears!

  • it doesn't have a mommy aweeee POOR THING...D':

  • really , really dumb, you have given this bear a death sentence !

  • I admit that until i saw some of the comments here i would have made the same mistake as those guys (we don't have bears in the uk so i am a little ignorant on the do's and don't s). The cub is apparently motherless. Can a cub that age survive ok in the wild? Also for 'urban bears' are they by default aggressive or does it come down to the temperament of individual bear if they are a danger or not? Are urban bears harmless unless provoked or will they seek out and attack people?

  • im not sure about the term urban, there are lots of bears that loiter around the outskirts of towns looking for an easy meal. these bears are less weary of humans and thus more of a potential danger although not necessarily more agressive than one in the middle of a forest. i doubt this cub would survive without assistance.

  • it not good to feed wildlide let them stay"wild"but good intensions

  • Why didnt you just give him your pictic basket.

  • I would be afraid of the mother!

  • lol look at the info it's a motherless cub

  • But won't it come back when it's adult?

  • thats if it survives the wild as a bear cub!

  • They love marshmallows.

  • Look out for mama bear. She should be around somewhere.

  • I know have good intentions, but this little guy is going to grow larger..and not be afraid of people.

So you will have an adult bear that approaches people for food...not good.

Likely outcome? This poor little guy will be shot by the time he reaches mid-size.

  • you should have wrestled with it, it wanted to play. worse thing that happens is you get a 4 claw scratch down your scawny arm and have something to tell chicks about.

  • I hope someone called a wildlife rescue org for that cub. Otherwise, when it gets older and approaches humans more aggressively, it's liable to get shot.

  • wow great job

what did you do with the bear did you call a vet or just let it back into the wild?

    great job man good vid

  • Great job on this video. I find it amusing reading some of these posts. So i guess if a bear or other wild animal is injured, spends days at a vets and is fed, it may as well be killed because it cant survive ha? Not buying that. Its a wild animal with wild insticts. It will eat and kill something if its hungry.

  • wow thats crazy, i'd b afraid its mother would show up and rip my face off, i guess u made sure it didnt have a mother though

  • Howdy and well done. Compassion is a great thing. And you did the right thing calling in the pro's to get him back into the wild one day. Ignore the morons who won't take the 5 sec to read your comments. Again, well done.

  • Wow, very cute cub.

I've been a DNR law enforcement officer for a long time and true, you shouldn't feed little wild cubs. Bears are inherently lazy and if the food is free, they aint gonna' work for it. Would you? It's like bear welfare.

  • That was great ;o)

  • I would have done the same thing you did. don't worry about so called jobless experts here.

    cute cub btw

  • And that would have been real smart.

  • Commendable. While he may not be an expert on the subject, should people continuously bash him for making a mistake? We can't possibly hold him to the knowledge that some of these "commenters" claim to know. As far as I know, you helped.

  • I'm not going to condemn you or anything but honestly feeding the bear like that was the dumbest thing you could have done. Calling F&S was a good move though. It's just that bears have great memories and all it takes is one or two feedings and they can become food habituated where they see people as a food source. Not that they would eat people, but where they remember people will feed them so they look for people and next thing you know they are killed for the safety or convenience of people

  • What a cutie-pie.

  • you should have eaten him. could have tried a brand new type of meat but you missed your chance. oh well, maybe next time :(

  • Obviously we have not worked for years in the wildlife rehab world. This bear was starving and the Fis and Game had been called and came and got him. We're not idiots, we know the difference between a motherless cub and one who has its mother or an adult bear. Please, enough of the negative comments. Little cub has been rehabilitated from its time with the evil humans.

  • indeed blkgryphon you are on target, however people will never understand how wildlife actually live. We just go about and laugh and giggle when we see the "cute animal cubs" and dont have the forthought of what becomes of them.....

  • I have worked for years in the wildlife rehab field. If you have to feed an orphaned animal, the best thing you can do is put appropriate food out, then LEAVE so it doesn't see you. When we feed babies that are too young to eat on their own, we cover ourselves so they don't see us. This is a VERY bad thing to do -- yes the bear becomes aggressive! Making him dance? Kind of turns my stomach, to tell the truth. A fed bear is indeed a dead bear. Please people, don't do this!

  • thats awesome

  • i think your really kind and genuine, some people would have captured it or made fun of it or tried to hurt it but you helped it, your awesome.

  • in 7 minutes he's already learned a trick; standing to get food

  • aww that is sweet of you and I am so glad they took him to a safe place, breaks my heart I live in BC, Canada and we get alot of that we have a place in Smithers that takes them they are wonderful people Im so glad they get a second chance :) great vid thanks for posting and saving his life :)

  • I think you broke some laws there, buddy

  • We researched it at the time I can assure you that no law was broken or we would not have posted the video.

  • Did you contact Wildlife services afterwards and have them take away the cub?

  • To reiterate; we notified the Fish & Game department immediately after the cub arrived. With no rapid response from F&G he was very hungry scrounging for food in our yard. So yes we were tempted to feed the cub and capture what we thought was amazing video. Several days later F&G gathered him up. An orphaned cub at his age WOULD NOT have survived the winter without his mother. They took him to a "bear rehab center" for the winter. I am not sure what his destination was after that.

  • Your sort of lucky it didn't have the mother at that time, because you most likely wouldn't be here now. But it was a nice thing you did though.

  • Careless Human? psshhhh lol...now that is funny

  • This careless human is an example of why so many bears are euthanized. Bears should never be taught that the world of man is safe, once the fear of humans is no longer present, they risk endangerment to themselves and others. "DANCE WITH HIM"

  • what are you feed the bear? at 3:34 it looks like you're feeding him bacon HAHAHAHA

  • Sorry - I didn't see the earlier comment that the bear had been collected by fish & game authorities. For the most part, it was never going to survive in the wild without a mother to teach it how to forage, or without looking for human food sources. There are bear rescue centers in Idaho (like in West Yellowstone) that will take orphaned bears.

  • Sorry - West Yellowstone isn't in Idaho, and the bear center there only takes grizzlies. Still - I hope the cub found a good home, and I'd hope that feeding a wild bear wouldn't be encouraged. There's a saying about people who feed bears that eventually learn and become aggressive looking for handouts. "A fed bear is a dead bear".

  • This apparently isn't illegal in Idaho. I wouldn't advise it though. Fed bears have been known to get aggressive when they associate food with people. They could approach a neighbor who isn't so keen on bears, and/or it could get dependent on human handouts. If a bear is motherless, proper fish & game authorities should be contacted. I know of a pair of orphaned grizzlies from Montana now at the San Francisco Zoo.

  • dont bring it to a ranger, theyll kill the bear because it has no mother and they dont want to waste tax money feeding it. just feed it and watch it grow old. They dont hurt people that much. Even a coyote will attack more than a bear.

  • i just want to say wow

  • dnt feed it more than once, which ur obviously doing here. it will become big and it will probably attack you. you should have taken it straight to a ranger or something

  • i dnt get it i mean surely the bear wud become friendly to humans and wudn't attack them because it knows that they wud feed them and love them :S but im probably wrong but it's just a one of chance! there is no harm in feeding it just this one time

  • wow, all you tree huggers leaving mean comments need to get educated. if you read the description, it says "MOTHERLESS" hence the cub cant go on his own. This guy is obviously trying to help this cub by feeding him. Cub survival is totally dependent on the skill of the mother in teaching her cubs what to eat, where and how to forage, where to den, and when and where to seek shelter from heat or danger. do research before posting you hippies. by the way F**K PETA.

  • wow this is a very cool video thank you for sharing. (and shame on all you PETA nutcases for the dumb comments I've read... they were just feeding the poor bear!)
