Hope was in the box for a reason and that was because it was a vice of the world
The only reaosn it dodn't excape is because it didn't excape us, we can control it to help us, it is not a force loose upon the world
When things are at their worst hope can give you strenth or courage to carry on or rise to the occasion but the problem with hope is that when things are well or just so so in life it is false hope that misleads us
With it's illusions of screen hope is almost lose upon us
I will try to give an answer that may fit in the same realm as the question. How fortunate I am, to have my name approved by one I truly admire and respect. :)
Hope need not be based on the false promises of a bloodthirsty fire demon. Hope can make the unendurable less so. Hope can free the soul from despair, if only for a little while. Hope does not come from a personified god, it comes from that part of ourselves that desires to go on despite the adversity that fate throws in our path. They say that faith can move mountains but hope can strengthen the weak until the mountain is built.
And thats as deep as I get in 500 characters or less.
It's "regimental". And the only single time I've worn anything under me kilt, was when I was trying me first one on for size, at a busy open air stall. As I was wearing harlequin tights and a codpiece at the time, dropping trou in the mud would have been less than graceful. And it was only for 30 seconds or so.
My family members were traded to York by The Bruce, after the peace won by Wallace's head. Aye, I might be a 7 generations on Yank, but I'm a Scotsman honest enough.
I don't think there was any prerequisite for hope because with consciousness and self awareness came many reflections of imagination that is the basis if abstract thought like hope, awe,shame,guilt,envy,ect
Animals only feel this is little to basic forms depending on how evolved or what species they are as well as the range possible with a individual animal
So really before our true awakening which must have been our species tonal language becoming a true oral history could hope be shared?
Pithy stuff, I can see why everyone is sticking to the muffins. Personally I'm beyond hope. I have no hope for the future, no hope of an after life. Beyond hope I continue because...... that is what I do, until I don't continue any more.
There is maple walnut ice cream in the freezer so I'm not too worried about anything except power failures.
Yes, that is the kind of hope I was talking about. I was going to say "the fools hope", but what is there to differentiate between the fool, mad-man, and valiant, when the tender caress delivers its hammer blow? Like from the trickster gods of old, how says one "no", to a gift such as this?
