  • 我覺得我反手打得比他好XD 不過他也有年紀了 年輕時候一定超級猛!跟陶菲克應該是不相上下的

  • Lose Taufik la sohai

  • i LOVE L.C.W

  • Is this Taufik Hidayat's father?

  • so much power o.O

  • Terrible camera work.

  • 看了你們這些陶菲克云云的回應真想笑! 陶菲克生在他的年代的話際遇和表現可能就沒那麼好啦~

  • megatrend thank you 4 sharing the video but i didnt understood anything may with english subtitles

  • he is only using wrist strength , this is not the full strength of his backhand...

  • 牛逼啊

  • Thank you Sifu!

  • TUFIK HIDAYAT!

  • 感覺陶菲克打起來比較好看 ...... 感覺動作怪怪的 不好看......

  • 陶菲克是真正的“反手之王”,但是由于一个分享这件事情。我希望这将有助于我!

Taufik Hidayat is the true "backhand king", but thanks alot for sharing this. I hope this will help me!

  • 还没有陶菲克厉害就称反拍王。。。 不好看

  • Taufik Hidayat backhand smash's fastest speed is 260km/h! Can he beat that? I doubt so.

  • @MrBadmintonnoob If Xiong had the rackets they sell today when he was in his prime he could easily beat that. The only thing holding him back was the technology available to him at the time. The fact that you are comparing a veteran legend to a current player is ridiculous. Show some respect.

  • @mzrealm I'm not offending him or not respecting him in any ways. I'm just stating the fact that taufik has a better backhand than him.

  • @MrBadmintonnoob We will never know. So don't make assumptions.

  • continue video 3/3

5:45 Motion of your hand is the most sophisticated of your body-used it to controll your power and direction.

6:35 Xiong demonstrates difference between I,II force only and I,II,III all together.

7:10 At ready position ,point the tip of your foot to the shuttle(to be exact, the projection of the shuttle on the ground).

    Roughly translated, thank you

  • video 3/3

2:05 Xiong says, the hitting position he proposes is the most accurate and most handsome one.

3:35 Why empty center of your palm? To create greater torque.

4:10 Xiong's backhand is like stacked tides-first tide, power from your arm(the part closer to should), then from the part closer to your hand, lastly form your hand.

5:20 Most world class backhands lack the third tide, power form your hand(rotational force).

  • correction of 9:25 angle at your elbow is approximately 90 degrees.

  • continue video 2/3

9:25 Important points- i.empty the center of your palm and your V-shaped area between your thumb and index finger to create greater torque. ii.face the hitting side of racquet to yourself at ready position for more option of your hitting directions. iii. At ready position, keep your arm parallel to your shoulder, angle at your is approximately 90 degrees. iv. point of contact is determined by your step, point the tip of your foot to the shuttle at ready position.

  • continue video 2/3

7:05 When shuttle is behind your body, if your thumb holds the wide side of the gip, you're most likely to hit out of court; If your thumb holds the bevel, your racquet stil faces the court.

8:30 With proper position of body & arm & hand & finger, you're less likely to get injured

  • continue video 2/3

5:50 You can even hit a different direction from your preparation position with rotational force.

6:20 At preparation, the hitting side of racquet faces yourself; when hitting, the hitting side of racquet faces the shuttle. This change of angle creates the "rotational force"(essence of the lesson!!!!!!!).

  • continue video 2/3

3:30 two opinions on backhand grip. i.Thumb on wider face-not wrong yet not the best. Xiong proposes that thumb on narrower face(bevel), always!!!

4:30 If there's sufficient time for preparation, turn sideways and hit; if not, hit directly.

4:45 The principle to keep you body sideways and you racquet sideways is the same ay ready position.

5:20 If sufficient time, spin your racquet to create rotational force.

  • video 2/3

0:00 first loose then tight- likely to hit the frame

0:12 your racquet is the extension of your hand. Not hitting with racquet, but with hand,palm-forehand, back of your hand-backhand.

1:10 empty center of your palm.

1:50 hit, then return of ready position immediately.

2:30 your muscles are tighten at hit position, return to ready position to relax them.

2:50 If not return to ready position- fatigue & error

3:10 return after you hit, it's always like a first hit

  • main idea of the 3 parts:

    last several minutes of 1/3.

effect of "rotational force"+ "straight force".

first straight force, then rotational force.

grip-thumb&index finger work like steering wheel; ring & little finger(never loose) like holding base of a peddle bow.

Why not first loose then tight(grip)-you may lose strength and accuracy, keep it either too tight or too loose.

  • This video on backhands is amazing. Even if you can't understand (wish we had a translation), we can see his form and the amount of supination he gets on the backhand. I love the part where he does consecutive backhand smashes. His technique is so good that he gets awesome power on it. I'm going to try to imitate his form and see if I can replicate some of that power he has =p. Awesome post by the way, thank you for sharing.

  • is that the oppenent michael? MBA's boss?

  • someone can translate what he said

  • omg is this mba?!

  • xiong guo bao has the most powerful backhand for that era 1980-1990

it is not correct to compare with Taufik which is come after with more badminton

technology like nano-speed even the making of the racquet Wood or graphite ..

so all i want to say is that ..He is the most powerful of all time

  • im a fan but taufik should be taking that class...

  • @msoda99 He Already has. lol i think

  • @speedstakerguy sorry taking as in teaching....
