Fighting happens in cities, towns, and villages. The people of Afghanistan never attacked us. The people of Iraq never attacked us. These wars are unjustified. Read your history people. you got point about the punishment for the crimes they did, but i don't agree that the USA military has a "GREAT" code ot ethics. It's bad to kill civilians, but it's worst when you're encouraged to do it.

You can't blaim the foot soldier for following orders. You must put blaim on the originators of these unoffical policies to commit war crimes. Military personnel that do not follow orders are placed under arrest, demoted, finnacially threatened, or otherwise have their careers ruined.
Ask yourself why are we there. First it was terrorist (which werent there before we went), then WMDs (which weren't there), then it became well if we leave we'll look bad.
Blaim should be on the policy makers.

good point,but comparing SS to soldiers is like comparing two different birds. I would agree we should hold our own CIA clandestine operatives and special forces responsible for these types of crimes,especially when they KNOW its illegal. My point is that most soldiers are being lied to for why they are there.The military is a legitamate arm of the government being used for other's personal malicious intent.They are locked into the services by law and contract and are at the mercy of the command

There are over 140,000 serving in Iraq.How come they aren't rebelling against so called "war crimes". I'm a Viet vet and heard these same lies back in the 70's by Kerry and his crew, most of whom were malcontents or never even saw combat ! This is one tenth of one tenth who have served and are serving.The vast majority will tell you this is BS and that they believe in their mission.!!
