I like At the Ceili best with Lisa, Orla, and Meav. Alex and Lynn are great singers too, but this just isn't their type of song. Lisa provides a steady and pleasant sound, Orla provides a beautiful and rich quality, and Meav gives the audience energy and a soaring kind of voice.

This song is so much fun! :D And definately a showcase of how variated their talents are. The normally serene and heartwarming Lisa rocking out and still singing gorgeous, Órla playing around and still knows how to enchant with her mystical beautiful Irish voice, and Méav with her adorable and hilarious stage presence and wonderfull smooth voice. And Máiréad is just awesome as usual. Hehe, they' all can do just anything <3 (besides Heavy Metal perhaps.. LOL)

A town or village would have a ceili periodically so people could all come together and socialize, dance, drink etc etc...they would have them at planting and harvest time or other important occasions...

@wordgal14 the guy who's on special effects (i guess that's what it is, the guy who does the chimes and other things) and the drummer also seem to just be playing for fun, you just have to see their expressions and how into it they are to tell. i enjoy watching all of the videos like this one for that reason and for the fact that everyone is EXTREMELY talented

@Indiegirl007 kind of. lol. ceili's were very popular in ireland and scottland a long time ago. it was basically an opportunity for neighbors to gather together socially and dance or tell stories.

i love this song. lol. the women are so amazing in it! Lisa looks like she's having a blast with it and Maev's part is just great. Orla's voice is somewhat haunting, in a way. lol. but i love Lisa. her face always lights up when she gets to dance on stage. this is a very enjoyable performance to watch.
Orla's slow, graceful part is just right for her. She sings so beautifully, and not just because her voice is amazing. She was the best member of the group in my opinion.
Lisa has a wonderful voice for the faster part. The expression and steady voice volume is there. She never over- does songs. Lisa is an amazing singer. Meav has so much energy and expression in this song, too. Bravo for all three of them.
I think the girls should team up with Celtic Thunder; wouldn't that be awesome? ... On second thought, maybe they'd better not; I think my head would explode.
And to boiled pudding: I could use a Ceili right now, myself. :)

@gerhard221 while I agree that trolls are stupid, I'd just like to mention that IQ is fixed so that the average is always 100. I'd also like to think that the human race can take care of itself well enough to not let a few dumb trolls drag down its collective intelligence, but perhaps that's too optimistic.

O God, please save us from the trolls! I post something like "Don't you just love Pavarotti's voice?" and someone comes back with "you obviously dont no shit abt music you stupid fuck' Please, someone, just find a way to moderate these idiots out before they pull down the IQ of all of humanity to 70. There ARE some decent human beings who actually just want to enjoy the arts without the incessant verbal flatulence of fools.

i love this song. lol. the women are so amazing in it! Lisa looks like she's having a blast with it and Maev's part is just great. Orla's voice is somewhat haunting, in a way. lol. but i love Lisa. her face always lights up when she gets to dance on stage. this is a very enjoyable performance to watch.

Orla's slow, graceful part is just right for her. She sings so beautifully, and not just because her voice is amazing. She was the best member of the group in my opinion.
Lisa has a wonderful voice for the faster part. The expression and steady voice volume is there. She never over- does songs. Lisa is an amazing singer. Meav has so much energy and expression in this song, too. Bravo for all three of them.
