she was a 90s pop singer....NOT 80S.....early 90s....now its a songwriter...a very prolific one....she wrote for britney spears, cathy perry and others....

This song actually was popular in 1990 and 1991, during the first Gulf War, Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.  For me, it provided some soothing moments in a time of strife and tension from that middle east incident.
