  • wonder if US news mentioned al quaeda on the evening news......terrible misfortune anyway.

  • Wait. Wait. Screw the crash, I'm catching this girl's shoulder instead.

  • Helicopter: Oh, look, a plane. Oh, well, I don't care that it's there, this is my flight path not his.

Aeroplane: Oh, look, a helicopter, I'll just turn a tiny bit so it can hit me

Cameraperson: Look at me, I'm so gay I'm gonna randomly film a heliocopter

    LOL JOKES Y'ALL

  • @AutisticAvadaKedavra dude shut up. My friend was in that crash and died. It wasnt funny at all

  • @mandcat5 Bullshit.

  • @joshuat271 fuck off. you dont know. insensitive asshole.

  • very sad video. I am only a private pilot and unfortunately all those air traffic rules are written in the blood of previous accident victims, the see and avoid rules for traffic separation are too often only an afterthought while enjoying the freedom of flight. to all other pilots, ya shit happens but don't let this happen to you. see and avoid and make lots of aircraft position calls so you can be visible in the eyes and the mind of surrounding pilots. traffic not in sight, R>I>P

  • It's a footnote compared to the accident and loss of life, but maybe they should require a course in basic camera handling in schools along with typing. Rule #1: Keep the camera pointed where your attention is. It would help document a lot of incidents, it really would.

  • Never heard about this accident but i guess no one survived?

  • Comment removed

  • @dtiydr check on NTSB.gov it's in there.

  • doug altmen RIP........stay strong bro

  • Yeah but come on i wouldnt put it down i would keep recording so people can see what happen

  • why would you put the carmar down?!?!?!?!

  • @Eber1794 oh I know...how about ITS REAL LIFE!

  • thats my cousin flying who is a nz'er so go get screwed you dick

  • @PfhUkJiu101 thats my cousin whos an nzer flying so get screwed you dick

  • @danielkaripa

    coolstorybro.jpg

  • I never remember this incident.

  • No disrespect or anything, but it seems to me as the Heli pilot was at fault. I would imagine the chopper would have a better over all view of everything. Its amazing the odds tho, thousands of feet of air and they still manage to even come close.

  • i remember that i was in NY on vacation that shit was crazy.....

  • My uncle piloted that helicopter. Rest in peace Jeremy Clark

  • @samoyed966 aawww that really sad : . (

  • @samoyed966 we don't have proof it was your uncle...

  • rest in piece doug altman

  • @adamr614 I work in Ambler and saw his name by the new tennis court at the school; RIP Doug.

  • I have seen how people have been commenting that it is shit hard to see below u in low wing aircraft, couldn't agree more, even in a high wing aircraft in that same situation it can be extremely difficult to spot other aircraft. Just an unfortunate accident

  • Aircrash.ucoz.net

A new website about air disasters. Documents, photos, videos...

We are making the largest database of civil planes' air crashes!

Come, register and add material. We appreciate any information.

  • I just saw the pictures of the bodies recovered from the helicopter and omg it's so sad and crazy to see what a crash like this can do to people bodies. Its sad and sicknening at the same time.

  • wow, impressive. if didnt i knew that this video was real, id probably would lean towards fake.

and a word of advice to bloggerjoe: immigrate to greenland!

  • Poor kid in there he dint get to be a grown up

  • i wanna know why this fucking assole who was videoing started to video the floor after the helicopter hit the plane, dumb ass.

  • @gazamehsay1 Because they have what i call "America's funniest home video" skills. I am a trained photographer in both stills and video. The untrained camera person gets what i call. "Hypnotized" by what they are looking at and the tendency is to follow the movement of the action away from the actual shot. That is why AFV videos tend to show allot of the ground!! A trained videographer has skill to resist this tendency and hold the composed shot.

  • This is the Devils revenge on God for the "Us Airways Miracle on the Hudson"

  • Take this off a kid in my school was on the plane he was only 15 or 16 years old.

  • @gmillz00 I don't believe you. Also, why would you want this off of youtube?

  • A major cause of this mid-air collision was the air traffic controller who failed to communicate properly with the airplane pilot who had just taken off and had asked for assistance in maintaining clearance from other aircraft. Apparently the controller was distracted with a personal phone call. Nine people in all were killed, mostly Italian tourists and included at least two teen aged boys.

  • A major cause of this mid-air collision recently revealed was the air traffic controller who failed to monitor properly communications with the airplane pilot (who has asked for assistance with nearby aircraft after just taking off) in combination of being distracted with a personal phone call. None people in total were killed, most of them Italian tourists, including at least two teen-aged boys.

  • The cameraman was filming a helicopter and a small plane, not a mid air collision for your entertainment! If some of you are more concerned about the framing, rather than the loss of life, you can go straight to Rotten com and masturbate all you want!

  • @GlueRman ..SHUT UP!... Because if u honestly think ppl are watching these videos for the sentimental value, ur retarted. I clicked this video along with 344,000 other ppl because we WANTED to see the graphic collision. u can try and take the high and mighty route and pretend that u care. But deep down ur just as sick and depraved as the rest of us. Difference is.... I'm not lying to myself. So now im gonna go masterbate on ur moms face. How bout those rotten apples!

  • @GlueRman Go change your pad ya bitch.

  • @GlueRman rotten.com yeah? going right there thanks

  • @benhoshinji Trolling will get you nowhere.

  • @GlueRman its people like you who sit on their high horses thinking they are better than everyone else. how is it wrong for people to like this shit? loads of people are interested in seeing crashes because they are... INTERESTING TO SOME. not everyone has to love every piece of human life on earth. sure we all acknowledge that people died but we didnt know them so why should we care? if we were to die they wouldnt care about us... so stop being such a tree hugging faggot, ya faggot.

  • @benhoshinji You're the best! The crème de la crème of the internets! Troll long and prosper!

  • @GlueRman your a much bigger faggot than i thought you were talking like that on the internet ahaha. looking at your favourites i think that i am just gonna leave you alone, freak.

  • @benhoshinji Such a lovely young boy! I will always remember you! Farewell!!!

  • @GlueRman

    whahahahhahaaaa

  • When you are videotaping a accident or whatever keep the fucking camera still you feel that you rather watch it with your own eyes rather than video so really you witness a air disaster without videotaping. ALWAYS keep videotapping no matter what to the very end,

  • Why don't people stop commenting on the cameraman and start commenting on this awful tragedy.

  • Hey cameraman you suck!

  • If that was Captain Sully, he would have done a 360 degree loop and avoided the crash.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like very poor SA on behalf of both pilots, espesially the climbing aircraft?

  • I wish that people filming events like this would hold the camera on it after it happens. I know its a crazy thing to see but get the whole thing.

  • Would all non-pilots please refrain from commenting on this video. You have no clue what you're talking about and just end up sounding stupid.

  • good flying!

  • did someone survived ? oh..k

  • the one that had the camera would be the worst camera-man-reporter that a news network could ever have

  • @catarata1 your an idiot the fotage was amature from someone on the barge that sent in the tape

  • @jdude700 would you respond to me so i can see which other simple words you cannot spell?

  • wow so sad. What are the f*cking odds? I mean they were well with in radar contact you would think. unless RADAR doesn't pick up that low.

  • @bluevidcam

    Neither aircraft has radar.

  • @HemiFTW44 Maybe I don't understand how things work. I was talking about RADAR from the ground. Why the airport didn't inform them they were close.

  • Over the river you don't have to have communication with the tower, just over the land. Accidents do happen sometimes, but they are rare.

  • IMO there was a failure of the radar system - New york TRACON (Radar) Uses ARTS systems (Standard FAA Approved Radar) which sounds an audible warning and a flashing beacon light above the terminal controllers station if 2 planes become too close mid-flight. im not hating, its just my opinion.

  • it looks like both of them were at thier blind spot

  • And it appears the Lance is in a right turn while the helo was climbing, hence the impact of the right wing and the rotor blades. Correct. The Hudson River corridor is insanely busy and you have to keep a sharp eye out and do what ATC tells you to do. The Lance was not in contact with ATC at the time as he was handed over from KTEB tower to KEWR tower but the Lance had not yet contacted Newark. Accidents happen. I saw nothing reckless by either pilot. This was just an unfortunate accident.

  • I'm curious as to why some people on here have commented that light airplanes should be banned. I've been flying these airplanes since 1990. I am also curious where some of the non-pilots who have commented here have the knowledge to judge what exactly happened. The Piper Lance approached the helo from the right rear and slightly above. The Lance is a low-wing airplane and in my opinion as a pilot of both high and low-wing airplanes, the helo was in his blind spot, obscured by his left wing.

  • @lowflyingcessna haha, who would ban light aircraft? that would be really stupid!

  • @lowflyingcessna Agreed! Im a pilot of a Piper warrior and it surely is hard to see under the wings. Some people are absurdly ignorant.

  • @fighter512 Scary isn't it. I wouldn't want to fly those VFR corridors over the Hudson or anywhere in the NYC Metro area. I am perfectly qualified to do it but that's just too many small aircraft operating in a small area and this sort of thing can and does happen. Warrior huh? Nice airplane! That's the very little brother to the Lance. Cherokees are terrific airplanes.

  • stfu nobody asked for your stupid opinion. Thanks for pointing out the OBVIOUS you moron.

  • I see your point, u cunt.

  • Yea i wana see them crash into the river

  • Whats wrong with you people?? Show some respects asholes!

  • god dammit! what is it with this river and air vehicles?!

  • roflcopter

  • @RubenTheys WTF is wrong with you!?!?!?! ASSHOLE

  • ahahaha

  • gixxerguy10 fuck you me encantaria verte asi descagraciado y ahi si me reiria de ti maldito bastardo

  • shut the fuck up you guys are retarded. this shits funny.

  • This crash is Satans revenge against God for the Miracle on the Hudson.

  • you wouldn't be saying this shit if your friend that you've known your whole life, his dad and his uncle were the ones in the crash asshole

  • i dont think your friend, his dad and his uncle were on that flight, don't make shit up. knob.

  • @ChrisMiller1994

are you kidding me? you're such an asshole. It was his uncle's plane, and my friend and his father were flying with the uncle to pick up the other brother from his sleep-away camp. people like you make me sick. and how about you research who was on board instead of acting like a stupid dick

  • yes, that may be true, but please don't make up that it was your friend that was on the plane.

  • @ChrisMiller1994

why would i make that up? i have no reason to. he lived in upper dublin, pa with his mom, dad and brother. I've gone to school with him since i was little and just recently my school hosted a tennis tournament in his memory. just shut up

  • ok, if you think so, you keep telling us that.

  • @ChrisMiller1994

im not sure who baseballrocks is but he DOES have the facts right. i was also good friends with him from school and his father and his uncle were on the flight. I've known the family since i was 3 years old. how do you expect that to be made up you dumb little shit. think before you speak.

  • @ChrisMiller1994 ok im not going to get mad at you since that is hard to believe but he isnt making it up... he went to my school and his dad went to school with my mom and his uncle, the pilot, were all on that plane so dont go around saying hes making shit up because it really happened and it makes me sadder to think there are poeple not believing wat actually happened

  • Get a life losers. Arguing over You Tube text comments? Grow up! Either enjoy the video or don't.

  • "Enjoy" people getting killed? Yea. Sure. I'll do that.

  • all that fucking sky

  • Hey what do you expect from the yanks!!! cant fly cant use a camera cant even stop shooting there own troops!!!

    Cant do nothing !!!

  • Go clean your teeth you brit.

  • how bout next time a fuckin mid air collision happens sumbody keeps the fuckin camera still.......i dunno just a suggestionl.

  • well they had a fucking camara dident thy!

  • Hmmm,.. and I'm sure they weren't in the least bit suddenly shocked considering the cameraman experienced 9 people die before his eyes. Sometimes the camera is the last thing ppl think of dude. Could you keep a camera still in that moment? Answer - you really have no fucking clue bc you havent been in that situation, unless you film ppl die for a living

  • wats your name and address so i can smack the shit out of u in person. im tired of internet tough guys typing tough guy shit on the computer knowing damn well nothing will happen. if u dont have the balls to say that to my face of the intent to talk shit directly to my then keep ur fuckin mouth shut. i left a comment on the video, not u so mind ur fuckin business......if u would like to continue this disgussion then message me back and we can make the proper againgements.

  • you're a retard.

  • I Think that the cameraman didn´t want to see the action through the camera lens and put it away.

  • @prettyricky124

really? did you happen to see how much it was zoomed in, in order to be able to see the collision? take your camera, zoom in 12x and tell me how still your video is...

  • wow it looks like the two were cruising comfortably in each others blind spots.

  • man, practicing with the new camera on the helicopter and suddenly this small piper comes out of nowhere and crashes in to it =(

  • Ok just found out: On a clear blue sky day, the pilots went asleep? Who was out of his way?

  • no, it seems the air traffic controller was on the phone with his girlfriend

  • Im not making this up, it said on the news that day, after they invstigated

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Which Hudson river crash...the Commercial ones? Sully or this one and there was actually another one too. You are definitely no erudite, so perhaps you should save your reckless ambiguous banter for something you have your facts for correct. Your entire assertion is mere conjecture.

  • If you count from August, we have had these light plane "incidents":

    1) The Hudson River crash

    2) New Jersey parking lot crash

    3) Los Angeles crash landing on busy highway

    4) Florida crash

    5) Phoenix collision

    6) Louisiana collision

DON'T tell me that the Hudson River incident is just " one of those things" or an "inevitable statistic."

There is obviously something wrong with light plane pilot/aircraft safety... and they should be banned from metro areas.

  • Research is easily definable and backed by statistics, use that white tissue between your ears for something other than boasting your lack of knowledge about aviation.

  • AND YET ANOTHER light plane crash has happened... this time in Louisiana.

Two of them colliding in mid air. it sure doesn't take long before another buffoon light plane pilot kills someone else.

  • The most difficult thing about mid air collisions is the two aircraft don't "move" across each others' windscreens or side windows. They appear motionless, but grow steadily in size. A very insidious phenomenon.

  • Turns out from NBC that the Air Traffic Controller was shooting the shit with one of the pilots right before the impact happened after the ATC tapes were just released about an hour ago.....

  • No, the Air Traffic Controller was having a phone call with a woman about a dead cat that was in front of her place. The woman was not an occupant of either aircraft.

  • i simply can not understand how someone in flight can "accidentally" hit someone else. In all due respect for lives were lost, didn't one of the pilots see the other aircraft? I just can't see the possibility.

  • you're an idiot.

  • why? Seriously

  • what are you implying, that pilots are incapable idiots who do nothing to prevent collisions like this? they rely on air traffic controllers to avoid mid-air crashes these. aircraft are traveling at hundreds of miles an hour in all different directions, it's not like avoiding an accident when you're driving. they don't just see it happening and do nothing, you can clearly see one of the pilots pull away to avoid the collision at the last minute, but it was obviously too late

  • not at all i have total respect for pilots especially the guy who saved the lives in the other incident, sorry if your perception of my comment is off. Im just curious i mean i just can't see how someone can't see something coming in advance, being we have peripheral vision etc. But perhaps i need to be in the situation to understand fully.

  • This is why when we fly we MUST always scan... All us pilots hear it and were taught it but still this happens. This is what happens when we slip, and keep our heads in the cockpit. This video will help me remember to scan, scan, and then scan again next time I fly. If you watch the video again you can see the piper pilot make an attempt to turn at the last minute. Unfortunately to late. The Piper had right of way and maybe thought the heli would change direction. Maybe not.

  • I personally would never assume another pilot would yeild the right of way anyways and keep aircraft separation at all times.

  • Comment removed

  • and this is why you always look to the right and to the left ... sholder checking people its not just for land based vehicles.

my deepenst consolences to the 9 people that died but seriously this coudl of been prevented due to some basic common sence.

  • why the fuck would you face the camera on it when crash is about to happen and face away when the plane hits it. some kind of retard was filmin this. i would be totally focused on crash no movement no retarted screamin i would be like some sick shit

  • You're a bell end, but let me explain why. Firstly they quite clearly were not expecting a crash so some sort of reaction after the impact is natural, and you did still see it after the crash for a few seconds. So don't be such a prick

  • Agreed the person behind the camera is a fucking retard, learn how to shoot re re re re retarrd

  • Your a Sick Fuck. asshole.

  • just because i wanna see a crash doesnt mean i'm crazy i want fuckin proof some real footy

  • ok thats cool I could agree with you, but you have to understand, he's just some dude filming this. he's not a professional, just a tourist with a camera. He probably put the camera down because he was distracted by the crash. if I saw a crash, my reaction wouldnt be "oh shit lemme get this on film" it be like ok we should probably go and help.

  • cant believe they stopped filming right after it crashed, why would they do that? Sad though. watching 9 people taken out

  • Humans are such animals, and nothing more. When the collision happend, everyone got progressivley louder, just like chimps do when they get excited or stressed.

  • ok we have established humans are animals and not plants do you care to explain the point of your comment?

  • We are not as smart as we think we are. a lot of what we run on is mindless instinct.

  • And as a non-human, you find that annoying of us? Yes, humans get louder when excited.

  • I flew there many times, and this was an accident waiting to happen.

  • The light plane pilot must've been drunk or on drug. I've seen enough of this light plane owners that often take their bird out while they still on stupor. we should've deploy missile batteries all around the city so that we can shot down both terrorist and this drunken menace.

  • Comment removed

  • We all die for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. If nobody died, the world would really be hell. How do you explain everything? How do you explain your LIFE? Accident? We're the only planet with life around us in the Solar System. Yeah, I don't think so.

  • NO waaaay. O.o There are no lifeforms in other planets. If you believe so, present the evidence and I'll gladly support your belief.

  • Saved are those who believe, but do not see. Yeah, I don't know if there's anything out there, but if you're looking for E.T's or equally stupid life forms, then you may be retarded. There is most likely life on Mars, since we did find water. Water started our lives, it might be starting life on Mars.

  • I never said I was looking for ETs almight JMANGUITAR5150. I simply asked for you to present evidence for you belief. Water doesn't mean there are lifeforms in there. It's possible, not there are.

  • duuh, cause there is no fucking god.

  • lol true dat

  • Did everyone die?

  • only the cat

  • the helicopter would have better view than the plane and could have seen it, it could have been avoided

  • r.i.p

  • where was god this time?...

  • it was thier time to go..

    it was meant to be

  • what a tragedy...

  • That is truly horrible. Rest In Peace to the families lost & the remaining family member I know its so hard for them. Im a New Yorker & alot of us but not all know that those pilots are coked up alot of the times. They sit around wait for tourist & go out & fly a copter while high.

  • Its also up to the Air Traffic controllers also......There are such things as fog & low lying clouds!...................Idiot Governments cutting costs.................

  • Bloodman they were in uncontrolled airspace. It's up to the pilot to see and avoid traffic.

  • Accidents are going to happen in any activity no matter what. There is nothing you can do to make anything 100% safe. But if you look at the statistics the hard fact is aircraft of any kind are 1000x safer than the car you get into every day. You don't hear about the 200 people killed by drunks everyday. Outlaw alcohol.

Bgrassguy is right. Watch the movie "One Six Right" before you comment again.

  • But the airplane was suppose to still be in communication with TEB

  • maybe both of them didnt see each other...

  • Some of you people are making the most uneducated comments I've ever seen.

Note that the Piper banks right at the last second, which may be because that he saw the helicopter. The helicopter showed no sign of adverse movement.

Also, the Hudson River VFR Corridor is uncontrolled below 1100 feet, so no ATC clearance is required. A simple knowledge of See-and-avoid is required, and pilots have a special frequency in that corridor to report their positions.

  • Great point, Tony....

To doubters - Notice the plane's path in relation to the helicopter - the plane was turning to proceed in the same direction as the chopper. The chopper stayed its course during the whole taping.

But also notice that the plane seemed to be, if moving (changing position) at all, climbing. The visibility is incredibly low for the lower half of the windshield, therefore hiding the chopper from the pilot's view. Simple mistake...

  • And yet ANOTHER light plane has crash landed... this time into a NJ parking lot.

These things fall out of the sky on a frequent basis and need to be kept AWAY from populated areas.

And as for for flying below 1100ft over the Hudson River... Light planes should NOT be flying that low... pilots need to use their brains and stay the hell out of the way.

  • please do all of us a favor and go finish elementary school... you do NOT understand how vital light planes are to our economy and businesses... and no, they do not "fall" out of the sky on a frequent basis... you can go places in a small plane that you wouldn't ever be able to go in a car or big airliner. I advise you to take a flight in a small airplane and you will realize how fun, convenient, and all around versatile they can be...

  • bgrassguy, why don't YOU do us all a favor and wait five more years before making anymore stupid, naiive comments.

There was a book written around 1975 which documented the frequency of small plane crashes in the US. The problem was known even back then.

In 1978 it was a light plane that crashed into a PSA jetliner over San Diego... killing everyone. Check the youtube photos.

Here we are all these years later, and it's the same crap. Crashing into buildings, freeways, car dealerships etc etc

  • ever think it might be the pilots and not the planes???? the plane looks to be climbing and if he was climbing, that would put the helicopter out of sight and at the last minute, the pilot sees the other aircraft and tries to avoid it, being too late... you see, of course "the problem was known even back then" because there is always going to be pilot error as long as humans are at the controls... just go take a flight in a small plane before you reply back to me... even if you have flown b4

  • And HERE WE GO AGAIN as two more light planes collide just outside of Phoenix. More deaths... more light aircraft PROBLEMS.

That's 1) The Hudson chopper disaster, 2) the NJ parking lot, 3) the Los Angeles highway, and 4) the Phoenix collision... (have I missed any?)

You do not have to wait long for light aircraft disaster stories. It is time the law dealt with them and their pea-brained "pilots" before they hurt anyone else.

  • lets see you fly them any better

  • hey ass wipe, its still the safest way to travel.....more car crashes everyday than plane crashes in a year....dumbass

  • Hey badzwa.. puhleeaasse STOP coughing up that convenient, asinine statistic about car crashes vs plane crashes.

A lot of car crashes are not life threatening at all. People WALK away from car crashes all the time, you idiot.

I hate those bullshit statistics... (i.e. you are safer skydiving than crossing the street... yeah right!)

Why don't you take those stats and shove them up your unlearned ass.

  • are u a fucking pilot.......I didnt think so, yes true about the cars, that some walk away, and most of the time the airplane crashes dont, but u dont have to critize GA. there are gonna be problems in everything, and of course ther are gonna be crashes but u dont have to be an ass about it bro.

  • Not some... most, MOST people walk away from car crashes.

And it's not good enough to say there are "problems in everything..."

Light plane pilots have been crashing for a long, long time... it's time it was DEALT with.

The ball player who crashed into an apartment building in NYC, the family who died in Boise, Idaho, the plane that fell into a car dealership in Orange County, the Hudson crash... it goes on and on.

And we both know another one will do it very soon.

  • so how do u think it should be dealt with????? just band general aviation altogether???? ur one of those guys who are on a mission to band this? so real quick how many plane crashes are there......maybe...just maybe a hundred in general aviation?
