  • Well, of all the dangers for us on the road... soccer mums in unnecessarily large 4WD's (SUV's, Toorak Taxis... you know what I mean), idiot drivers not noticing us... or ignoring us...

But a huge piece of construction equipment falling off a semi trailer? That's just not your day.

  • i got hit by a car today while riding my bike to school. luckily, i am relatively ok and only got some cuts and bruises. but, it shows how things can change in the blink of an eye.

  • as a general rule you try not to drive side by side with any vehicle, but statistically you are safer with a trucker than any random person with a car. but yes, its important you move past the truck quickly yet safely as they can have pretty large blind spots

  • I am so glad to see you get back on .I both ride Harley and drive truck everyone that reads this please be careful .That truck loaded is 80 k lbs of rolling hurt you ,and it cannot stop on a dime ,there may be loose pieces that could fall off.We do a pretrip inspection and a post but that may not get every thing .Ride safe

  • @MrNo0nekares youre just a faggot.

  • @MrNo0nekares Just because you are a poor shit that can't afford a bike. You're just jealous.

  • I hate long comments.

  • I truly hope all is going well for you now and there is really nothing wrong with trikes.

  • @icthruu4evr heartless, I hope this doesn't happen to someone close to you you'd eat your words quick, prick.

  • God bless this woman. She can forgive

  • @mtasadude She's got more balls than you ever will.

  • guess it's true. why do accidents always happen close to home? Because you know the way like the back of your hand so maybe you start driving a bit faster than you should? wierd.

  • @telrite I think it's because that's where the vast majority of your driviing is done,, statistically

  • That firetruck looked like a toy

  • you are an inpiration go girl

  • Keep riding I did after I lost my left leg ten years ago, current ride is a 2010 FXDWG, fell free to message me if I can help in anyway, heres my latest clip I made, youtube.com/watch?v=E1MNyf9yKek

BTW I am a left leg above the knee amputee,

  • Keep your chin up, you sound like a wonderful girl...better to have lived than have lived in fear of trying.

  • God's creation?

  • god bless you.. but i dont think its would be ah good idea to ride with one leg

  • Keep the faith and keep riding!

  • IS OK YOU CAN GET A FAKE LEG AND PUT IT IN THERE SO YOU CAN START RIDING AGIN NOT.

  • I'm amazed and impressed by her good attitude. Not sure how well I would of handled it.

  • aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

  • poor lady!!

  • I drove a flatbed, I ride motorcycle, I know what they both are. When I'm on the bike I stay as far from big trucks as I can. When I drive the truck, I make sure the chains are tight.

  • GOOD THING IT'S NOT THE SHIFT-SIDE*, KEEP RIDING GAL,YOU'RE A TRUE AMERICAN SPIIRIT*...LIVE FREE

  • Thats why we stay the heck away from big trucks. Nothing good comes from those things.

  • ... when a large excavator felt off a semi...

I have felt a few rock hitting my windshield and bumper while I was driving my car, witch have scare me of driving my motorcycle on a daily basis. I always suspected those flat bed trailers transporting heavy equipment on track for most of those loose rock on the middle of the road, but this is off the scale; a large excavator!

  • Stopped watching at 'gods creation'

  • @skullx546 Is just funny when a biker tries to explain the joy of riding. You just can´t. Either you ride and understand what I mean or you have to give it a try.

  • What a motivation.

This ladies and gentlemen is called not wasting a life Hating, or feeling sorry for yourself.

  • What a fantastic woman, hope she gets back on two wheels.

  • i know it sucks but hey, you all know the risks of riding a bike, dont get mad its a fact you have to accept how dangerous it is!

  • @TheWhiteOwl23 piss off

  • @scdeanor what do you mean piss off its true bikes are fucking dangerous! my friends cousin even says so and he rides one for transport. so far he has crashed 2 times...

  • I have a friend of mine who was injuried in an accident and lost use of both legs. As she is parilized from the waist down. She is back in the saddle riding a bike. She has a Can Am Spyder and carriers her wheel chair on the rear. The bike has a 990 CC motor with a semi automatic transmission and a hand brake that controls all three wheels.

  • What a terrible thing,but great attitude hope she gets back on two wheels;with that positive attitude she will. [The power of the Wind }

  • She is a good woman

  • You go girl.. My wife and I ride together on my Goldwing . Sorry for your loss by " I would rather die enjoying life than rust away in a rocking chair"

  • oh God.. Im sorry for her.. since I know how it is to ride a motorbike...

  • @ UltmtSniper ha sit right. every time you get on a bike you have to assume that you could be killed, and behave accordingly.

I have spent years racing and more dangerously working as a courier in Central London in the early 80's. If I get on a bike these days it's not about speed, but you know speed is one of the advantages you have with a bike, get out of danger, pass things quickly etc. Also. make sure you are seen, assert your position on the road. I'm no Harley fan, btw, but...

  • I drove tractor trailer for 10 years and I'm a rider too. No matter if a truck is moving or stopped; Get ahead of it fast and safely, stay far behind it but NEVER ride of sit along side it. Remember: There's the left side and the Suicide. Never trust a truck or anything else with more than two wheels. And something else I've always told others to remember: When you get on your bike, before you put it in gear and had out say to yourself, "Everything on the road will try to kill me today."

  • @UltmtSniper I live in the UK and i was always told to look at other road users as potential hazards! Especially car drivers as they just don't look or don't see you! Their observational skills aren't as good as a motorcyclists because a bikers life depends on it!

  • @UltmtSniper Very true.Same thing must say pedestrians too...

  • @UltmtSniper When I first started to ride on the road, my father said to me "They're all trying to kill you, you know?". I never forgot it, and managed to go thirty years without serious injury (so far, touch wood LOL). It's a basic rule every rider must know.

  • @kilx81 what do u mean "i don't like the attitude of this woman"? how do u want her to be?

  • Poor Lady. I have seen a few dickhead truck drivers with excavators taking down power lines, getting stuck under bridges etc but never seen one loose one off a truck. Must be a real bright spark, hope he got a long holiday in the lockup.

As for the bike , rig up a brake like Mick Doohan had on his race bike operated by her thumb or a proportioning valve to the front brake aka Moto Guzzi braking system..Happy riding.

  • escavator? You mean excavator. You stupid american news reporter

  • She still has her gear shifting foot :) Hope she rides again one day soon...

  • ever seen final destination?

  • In the UK there is a bunch of guys called N.A.B.D. National Association of Bikers with a Disability They do great work supporting and aiding Disabled bikers get back on the road. They help get adaptions done to bikes for just such people as this young lady as their experience in the field is second to none. She should see if there is an American equivalent or contact them here I'm sure they could offer valuable advice. and no I am not affiliated to them I just know they do good for others.

  • it cut out at the end cus of the profanity spewing from her mouth >.>

  • Good luck to her. I was in a crash in '99 and spent 8 years in a wheelchair, while the hardware in my leg broke 7 times. It's still not healed, and will probably break again one day, but I had to get back on. I know a guy with both legs missing, and he rides a nice FL with a sidecar attatched.

    Best of luck.

  • Whats with all the horrible comments?????? Geez, good spirits lady.

  • Thank god for bionic prosthetics

  • HANG IN THEYR GOOD LOOKING

  • As a truck driver & an avid motorcyclist so I think that would somewhat qualify me to give this small bit of input. STAY AWAY FROM THE BIG TRUCKS...PERIOD!!! It matters not if I'm on my bike, in my 4 wheeler or big truck. I try to stay away from 'em. If on my bike I visually inspect the big rigs near me and I will NOT ride next to 'em N traffic, nor will I follow 'em closely...ever seen those pieces of tire or steel brake-drum on the shoulder of the road, guess where they came from..nuf said?

  • BUTCH CUNT!

  • stupid fucken video...you dont see an accident just cunts dribbling shit....

  • thats a huge backhoe!

  • @anikkachenbautista its called an excavator

  • Nice truck.

  • يا حراااااااااااااااااام

  • i rly hate harley ...and generally chopper riders....but that women is rly poor :(.....

  • @s33k4r2 And why is that? :\

  • @silveravatar cuz most of them are "posers" xD!!!....no rly they think theyre cool cuz theire riding a choppper.....i mean everyone is proud of what he has got but those guys think theire special...

  • shes rich shes freekin rich!!

  • I know a few female bikers and would out-drive your ass anyday.

  • The next worst thing to women driving cars are female motorcyclists..

  • I have a similar story. No one did a fucking report on me.

  • if she brought her iron man suit this wouldn't have happened

  • This lady is a tough cookie! Respect.

  • that ain't a bulldoser that's an excavator.

  • That was an avoidable accident on the semi drivers part. He should have used better and more straps. Yet another reason why I will not buy a bike.

  • @mrbagelsrgood Ya use chains on equipment like that, not straps...big ass chains. I drive a truck and ride and love them both, even though they just might kill me someday. You take a chance at dying every day when you get out of bed. Get on a bike and give it a try. take a chance at finding a new source of enjoyment, learn to ride.

  • I like her attitude, she seems like a very positive person. she is cool

  • How do you manage to get a fourty ton bulldozer (I dont know what that machine is called in English) to tip over from a truck?!

  • @FretFreak02 I believe they call a Bulldozer a Bulldozer in english :P

  • @fighter4ev4 haha lol! But I meant what xxxxcocatazoxxxx said; a excavator. Didn't know that word haha.

  • Wow, that sucks. Brave lady.

  • @RadicalGUNzalo the shifter is on the left side

  • How will she shift gears?

  • @RadicalGUNzalo The left foot is for the gears, she lost her right which is for the rear brake.

  • @pancho0022 yh she can ride again just get one of those rear brake levers that goes on ur clutch lever uno the ones the stunt riders use

  • There is an organisation in the UK called NABD National Association of Bikers with a Disability. There is one in the States too. There are devices especially manufactured for bikers who have lost limbs. The footbrake can be changed over to the good leg and a device fitted to chage gear from the handlebars. You don't have to be disabled to join NABD. All monies go to keep disabled bikers on the road.

    Good Luck Louanne!

  • You can also get a scooter. They have some high powered scooters on the market(i've seen some 600cc models) and the brakes, transmission, everything is controlled at the handlebars. Its a great alternative to someone who has lost a leg but can't NOT ride. It's always an option too.

What i don't understand is, why be angry at the driver? this report doesn't say enough about the nature of the accident. I mean, if it fell off the trailer, the crew loaded it wrong, which is not the driver's job.

  • @bigbengamer actually its the drivers job to check all straps and chains before departing, sombody screwed up, the driver could have been somewhat reckless or the chains and straps were not secured properly

  • Not necessarily. A chain is only as strong as its strongest link, and a chain can be failing without it being easily visible. They don't say anything about a chain breaking, but they don't say anything about the driver being reckless either. Her feelings towards the driver just don't make sense, given the way her story has been presented.

  • @bigbengamer true, the chains could have been weakened, and holding that heavy of a load in place would definantly put some strain on a chain

  • oops i mean the chain is only as strong as its WEAKEST link.

  • @bigbengamer yea i caught ur drift, we really dont get enough info to know what happened, hopefully she can get back on the bike

  • Good on you love

  • love ya

  • Why would she have to ride a trike? Isn't it the same configuration? Or would it be a balance issue? How would she use the rear brake? Ultimately, I see no reason why she couldn't ride. I hope she does.

  • @thelowmax they make braking systems where both front and back brakes are controlled by either the hand grip or the foot pedal, depending on how the rider has it configured

  • @btjohnson83 That's what I figured. I see no reason that she couldn't ride.

  • i wish you luck riding again your truley beutiful inside and out. ive lost several friends due to other peoples mistakes and its hard not to hate. you have the rite attitude.

  • YOU GO GIRL!

  • this woman is awesome, she is totally right

  • get a trike

  • This happened in Keokuk Iowa 20-25 miles north of where she lives in Quincy Illinois due to trucker not securing load properly. She now leads a support group for amputees. When I get well enough to ride again I will most certainly look for her . Maybe we can ride together and maybe her wonderful attitude will rub off on me. A fine example of harleys motto LIVE TO RIDE RIDE TO LIVE.

  • @xtpuller I'm origionally from Rushville Illinois about 45 miles from there or so maybe less. Take R67 N over the Illinois river and the next town is mine. I'm not sure what roads go to/from Rushville to Quincy it's in Schuyler County.

  • Rock on Louanne!

  • Pics or it didn't happend.

  • I know of two other riders who ride w/ a prostetic leg and they do fine, I hope you got a FAT settlement. See ya in Sturgis

  • You rock mum, keep riding .

  • after all is said and done... i bet she gets a sweet bike...theres nothin you cant do,remember that.

  • Get a man and ride bitch things will be ok, LOVE life

  • pretty Lady sad about the leg,

  • hmmmm, i live like 35 miles from keokuk, if its keokuk iowa

  • just thank god its god its not you

  • she is a brave lady, i take my hat of to her.

i get my bike early next year and hope this never happens to me.

  • You go girl, get back on that horse and put your face in the wind, you can get a prosthetic that will hold you up,I think you kickass!!

  • This is a freak accident if I ever saw one.

What the hell? Construction Equipment fell off a truck? Fuck, it doesn't matter if you are in a motorcycle or a car, if that thing falls on you, you're fucked either way.

  • lol fen funnny but true.my step brother used to work for komat'su.

  • Not if your in a tank.

  • Meet the new owner of Komatsu and the trucking Company

  • Brand new Komatsu

  • One very brave woman.

  • no joke, and the fact she wants to keep riding

  • Now you know why my bike is for sale. There are many idiots like this on the road. They shouldn't be on the road but locked up in a psych ward.

  • Heine maybe you should watch the video again. It takes that as she was riding the construction vehicle fell off the trailer.

  • My Harley is for sale. I used it 5 times. Too many idiots texting while driving. My life is too precious to risk it on a bike. You got a second chance. You should not risk it!

  • I am riding a Suzuki and a Yamaha, I was all for it to see my wife riding on her own, but talking to people that had amputations due to motorcycle accidents, now, I actually won't even let myself ride. Talking about texting, my co-worker was plowed by a teenager from behind at a red light. Imagine you are waiting at the intersec., next thing you know you are flying like a bullet. The back wheel of the bike was in the middle of the hood, he will never be able to walk without pain.

  • I live in redneck country where drinking and driving is all over. Combined with young idiots texting, no..... it's not worth the risk.

  • i have no doubt..this lady WILL be back on the road........ON 2 wheels

  • i wanna be more like her

  • poor woman ^^ i dont like Harley xD my Gilera RCR is wayyy better^^ but its just my opinion and im only 15 years old xDDD

  • Gilera RCR is a moped right? yeah it looks alot better :D

  • Good for you. Ypu have a good attitude. I ride with one arm. You just gotta get back up and on a bike again.

  • brave woman, wish her all the best

  • That really is a shitty deal. I've ridden literally thousands and thousand of city and country miles on different motorcycles and only been down once, and that was in the dead of winter on frosty streets, and I consider myself lucky. I'm glad you got back on the bike, all things considered it wasn't the bikes fault and it brings you so much joy to ride. Sorry for your misfortune.

  • Harley davidson's saying is ride a mile and walk the rest.

  • i admire that woman she is amazing :)

  • that that is a real hard core person right there

  • She's got a great attitude though!

  • that sucks

  • poor lady. harley's suck though.

  • is not a motorcycle ..is big like an airoplane

  • Larry parker got me 2.1 million!

  • tu y tus malditos chain letters

  • Good for her! Awesome attitude, I think I would be a bit more upset. But at least she has positive attitude and hopes to get back on two wheels : )

  • she didn't die! thank God.

    But lost her leg... :(

  • she didn't die but she should rest in peace as a cripple citizen too.. Pity of her too D=

  • Lovely Lady. xx

  • nice i love it shes getting back on the bike sweet

  • Did the truck driver get arrested? Was it his fault?

  • If you dont get back on... you will live in regret the rest of your life. It had nothing to do with your ability to ride. It was a freak accindent. Not your fault. Go by another bike get a leg upand ride.

    Slow joe

  • Being both a rider and Driver who has hauled Equipment, All i can say is remarkable, God was looking after you. Freak incident, good on you for forgiving that driver. Can't imagine living with that..

  • How does an excavator fall off a trailer

  • my thought exactly

  • hey there sweetie they make rear hand brakes. it is really possible to ride with one leg i would be back on the bike as soon as i could.

  • i would say 4-5 million in a suit and a custom leg will help her out quite a bit..

  • pooor thing..

  • i like this mama, she has more balls than some men,, hope you can ride again soon,,

  • Good for her and her positive attitude.

  • ride free!!!! you can do it.

  • When you own a bike you gotta get used to the fact that one day you might be using some sort of walking aid or medical device attached to you for life. Its just the way it is

  • Not true, this accident could have happened to a cyclist, pedestran, or other road user, nothing to do with biking

  • I didnt say it couldnt. What I said was, if you own and ride a bike, you gotta get used to the fact that one day you might be using some sort of walking aid or medical device attached to you for life. This accident has nothing to do with biking and could have happened to anyone but read my comment

  • You are rite on the money dude.

i think i will stick with my old bronco with the full cage. at least i have some chance if i get into a fender bender

  • Hey, you could die jerking off in the shower, why not die on a beautiful woman? Whoa! Best worst analogy ever!

  • Come on sister! back on the bike, I hope soon.

  • she'll be riding again.. with all them customs around, wouldn't be too hard to shift/connect the rear brake to somewhere she can comfortably access...

  • She can still shift though. All she needs is a hand rear brake and she good to go. Good luck and stay strong.

  • Peace sister.

  • Slow as shit you say? So what if it's not a Gixxer or a Ninja, there is something cool about cracking the throttle of a Harley and setting of car alarms three rows over in a parking lot.

  • Hell Yea!!!! Tell em brother or sister?

  • I like bikes and I like Harley's but there is something to say about people that think it is kool to annoy other people because they can be loud. I think you have the wrong outlook on being a true lover of biking and cause other people to think they are a nuisance. Repect the feedom of biking and others around you.

    Old Biker

  • man thts soo sad :(

    i lov bikes thoo :(

  • once a biker, always a biker.

  • I am by far not a harley fan, But props too the woman for not giving it up. My boy one legged Dave ride a raked out phsyco chopper with iddy bitty handle bars. An he has a prostetic right leg. An by the way, it is a kick start shovel.
