  • Christopher Guest is a genius...these two, it goes without saying...Brilliant!

  • They kind of cut out the best part where she's crying on the way out of the room. Heh. Brilliant film.

  • I love how she's mouthing his lines. Hysterical.

  • I just love this movie! It's so much like real community theatre. The "music" people & the "theatre" are always not quite on the same page, not to mention adding "dance" people to all of it!

One party NEVER wants to use actors that the other party always casts, no matter how good they are (though admittedly the "Lunts" aren't that good) There's always a person no one ever considered who winds up stealing the show & no matter how bad it is its almost always fun to watch!

  • Track suits.. always a win

  • Corky calls Ron and Sheila "The 'Lunts' of Blaine." I guess they are.

  • Catherine's character in this movie, always has the characters' bangs sprayed straight up - even when she wants to go to Mars and in the old west segment. Love it.

  • Their actor's mime secret handshake at 0:01 sets up the scene perfectly... laughter and hilarity ensues!

  • :50 Willard's messing up the rhythm is brilliant beyond words. And the pianist caught him.

  • hahahaha i love the tracksuits

  • the cut to Bob Balaban's look right near the end is just priceless - one of the best reaction shots of all time

  • I love the way Catherine O'Hara quietly mouths Fred Willard's lines, as if it helps her remember her own lines. Pure genius.

  • @chrisman737 Never noticed that. Amazing.

  • 'Waiting for Guffman' - The GREATEST movie ever!!!

  • Ok, so this may be a RIDICULOUS question. I know the song (frighteningly enough), but is this an actual play that the Albertsons are re-inacting?? What I wouldn't give to find it, just to make their attempts all the worse...

  • @jlessenburg it's a tasters choice commercial from like the 80's

  • @jlessenburg They said in the commentary that it was basically a coffee commercial that inspired them.

  • i love how catherine o'hara starts out with the old timey 'mid-atlantic' movie accent..

  • Catherine O'Hara is always pure genius. So much love for her!

  • I meant at 0:34 (rather than at the beginning)

  • It's when they break it down with the finger-clicking that gets me every time.

Brilliant scene from an utterly brilliant film.

    Great video, parrothead.. Well played.

  • The jogging suits crack me up! And Sheila's bangs.

  • She sings SO loud! I love it!!! This movie's brilliant!

  • I love that Fred Willard drops a beat in the phrase - another brilliant detail. Amazingly funny stuff.

  • " Haven't you been paying attention...It's midnight at the Oasis"

  • The first time Catherin O'Hara horribly belts, "YOU DON'T NEED TO AAANSWEEERR!!!" I crack up! XD

  • "You're always full of surprises!"

  • These two are brilliantly talented...love 'em!

  • hahaha it's the Hare' em that gets me. I love mocumentaries.

  • Aren't these Guffman auditions a hysterically funny precursor to the "Glee" pilot -- but FROM HELL?

  • I love how Catherine O'Hara mouths Fred Willard's lines at the very first. So professional. LOL!

  • @thegorn68 Hahaha, yeah, that's the best part about this clip.

  • I saw this as soon as it came out on video, and to this day I can't get the image of their frigging jogging suits out of my head.

  • Fred and Catherine are so talented they can play completely untalented people.

  • Hahahah!! "I wonder who knows I'm vacationing here at the Oasis..."

Fred Willard leaning against the pretend-wall just kills me every time.

  • They ARE the "'Lunts' of Blaine!"

  • this always makes me piss my pants. soooooo funny

  • I think Bob Balaban as Lloyd steals this scene without saying a word. When Corky looks at him with that smile and that little nod, the way Lloyd looks at him for just a beat too long is priceless. You can tell he sees the Albertson's for the talentless hacks they are . . .

  • @BarkerBarker2323 yeah he is very good at basically doing nothing lol. love this film I think I like a mighty wind more though

  • WTH? Catherine OHara, I love her, but she plays the strangest parts sometimes loo

  • lol, i love this, and i love the way she mouths his lines, lol, great sh#t

  • @funkhauser81 hahahaha i just noticed that for the first time ever today!! fucking genius
