it's the wide 23MM with extension tube - very sweet setup - almost as good as SLR

to be fair slr cameras are far to buly for most of the time. they are best quality but too big and bulky i would rather stick with compact

yea for Nikateer I agree with the other person. I own a cannon G9 and its FARRR from a point and shoot cam. At a price of $499 retail it has all the features of most cameras costing 2x's as much including 12.1 MP and color swap. I suggest (Nikateer) you google reviews of the cannon G9 before you classify it as a point and shoot.

A G9's picture quality cannot be comapred to a digital slr. And just because you don't like this FACT, Don't go giving me a thumbs down. It's not anybodies fault that you got ripped off for buying one.

So it has a great big lcd screen on the back, Every person who takes good and REAL pictures does not use the lcd screen. So, I gave you a thumbs down for making a comment, and not knowing what your commenting about. :(~

I'm sure the G9 is a great camera. When I say it's not camparable to an SLR camera, I'm not putting down the G9. I'm merely stating that any newer model SLR will take better quality pics than a digital point and shoot.

For every person who has given me a thumbs down, Those are the people who know nothing of photography. And as for the telephoto lens that you can buy for these, I have not seen one worth it's price. I haven't tried the canon telephoto lens, but every other isn't worth 10 bucks.

I own two Canon cameras, The Rebel XT and the Powershot G9

I dont think neither one is EXCELENT, but they complement each other, at least for my use

The problem with DSLR cameras is the money. If you buy a DSLR you must spend on good lenses for it, and of course you will get fantastic results

But Compact cameras like the G9 are much more versatile for their price, and they come with a lot of similar functions to a DSLR. How ever, this camera can show a lot of noise and its also very expensive

it's a great camera - highly recommend. the raw mode work very well.

the attachment is the wide angle with adapter - looks radical it produces a 18mm almost fish-eye exposure.

im was in the same situation deciding which one to buy but its really if you want it for pictures more or for video. s5 has a longer zoom and better video but the g9 produces images like no other compact ive ever seen

i wouldnt recommend anything but mini dv for camcorders hard drive cameras always have the risk of losing all of the info if the hard drive crashes

Thats huge! Whats the widest angle you get with it? And why are all the controls on the G9 reveresed? Is that a mirror image or something?
