  • I like your points, but the way the world is today might just be a choice, i guess it's a very bad choice but too many people choose the bad choice, ignorance is suicide... but that leaves more rum for me, i guess i like to see people rant about how fucked up the world is, because i know there are some who care.

  • I just returned to this after many long months and was quite impressed with the comments. It was great to see (although the delivery could have been better) that you felt strongly enough about something that you actually took the time to speak out. Many comments touch on the subject of society wanting to be led, and the truth of the matter is, that while many will sit and complain there are very few who would actually take action for fear our comfy little lives would be disrupted.

  • You don't need to have great knowledge on a subject to form an opinion. For example very few people who condemn global warning have sufficient knowledge in how 'green house gases' lead to increased tempratures or how ozone depletion occurs but it is not necessary that they do so because the weight of the argument is not in the science but rather in the moral implications. Most important subjects could be described in a similar way.

  • "I only say my opinions on subjects that I truly know"

I think you're assuming that your sources are objective bystanders dictating their experience. If you are receiving two completely polarized perspectives or how ever many you are accessing, it still may not demonstrate the true realistic situation. The example I had in mind was the middle east conflict but that's the default for a controversial issue. I think opinions should be directly derived from experience as opposed to speculation.

  • Wow for an objectivist, you sure do spout the insults at those people you claim have no bearing on your mindset or view of yourself. If you do not care what they think, then why a video response to them? Contradictions do not exist as you well should know.

  • @333lorne She said she was a liberal democrat.

  • "We are mass producing people who are failing themselves."

    Well said. So true.

  • i enjoyed your speech/ rant and ill ry to keep it in mind someday but to possibly change my views because of it would make me lose my individualism besides for that to happen i would need to have a conversation thats much longer than 8 minutes lol but good points im sure

  • ignorance is a big problem in the USA now days.

  • Can you please consider making a rant about Luka Magnotta please.

  • Anyone hear of Mr. A - now there's someone who subscribes to objectivism. You guys seemed to have already tackled Rand so I won't go there.

I'm kind of torn on by this video. You say some good things, but you also come off very didactic. Either way, at least your saying what's on your mind...

  • Ayn Rand was on Benzedrine also. Try Valium instead, sweetie.

Seriously, it took me about 10 years to get over the excitement and put it into perspective. Its only 95% perfect, not 100% as it is sold. I highly reccommend reading The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, get a coach if you need one. Write me or some of the other Randheads. I also reccomend the Ludwig Von Mises Institute and Dr. Hans Hoppe.

  • I'm all for individuality. It's one of the main reasons I'm not an Objectivist. :)

I have the sad belief, though, that people want to be led and are afraid to think for themselves. Google the Milgram experiment, for example. Best of luck. ;)

  • Standards itself is a sign of ignorance.

So if you make standards to seperate yourself of ignorant people, it's self defeating to do that because having the sense of standards trying to seperate you, but you're only proving that you're ignorant.

  • you have the potential to be a very important person in society. you (nikki6543) can be a bridge from morons to ayn rand. people don't like to listen to "close-minded" randians, although people would listen to you, if only because you're cute. you just need to compose your thoughts. you look a bit like ayn rand - not that rand was cute, but you have her eyes.

  • 12Project, have you seen pics of Rand when she was Nikki's age? She was cute.

  • "We need to like higher the standard." Did you mean we need to hire the standard? Who is he? How much does he charge? Or, did you mean we need to raise the standard. "Higher" doesn't function as a verb. It's tough to listen to a rant about ignorance which is littered with ignorant comments. The next time you "skim" through a book, well...my gosh...where do I begin. We keep lowering the bar? Check your spelling, grammar and usage. Strive to improve it so that the bar stops lowering.

  • I don't even know where to begin. I am a huge Rand fan but darling you need take a deep breath, stop saying like, umm, you know, and friggin, and sit on your hands. eloquence is not your strong point. i understand you want to present your point but next time sit down and think through what you are about to say instead of turning on your camera and going crazy. people might consider taking you a bit more seriously if you sound less like a giddy highschool girl and more like an educated woman.

  • Gee, so you point out her mistakes because she likes Ayn Rand, that will make you feel smart, or atleast prove you are sophmoric. The people who bash Ayn Rand without finishing her books are no different than the people who did the same to Catcher and the Rye, Close-minded. Just because you drink soy milk doesnt make you open minded.

  • Ayn Rand would hate this chick. Ayn Rand hated you. I'm surprised Ayn Rand wasn't a serial killer, she hated almost everyone.

  • So the solution to solving America's problem with ignorance is to follow a disgruntled, bitter, hypocritical old Russian lady with seriously fucked up views on gender and sex? How does that work.

  • You're not going to change human nature overnight. The culture creation industry is largely responsible for shaping the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of people within society. Most people make decisions based on emotion and then justify their decision with logic later.

  • How much caffeine did you ingest before this?

  • Clean your dishes - LOL

  • You should rant more often! You mentioned so many subjects in this video that you needed to expand on. : )

  • She really believes what she is saying. I know her. That's just fucking scary. Mwaaaaah to my lovely nicole.

  • Whew! There now, isn't that like a great load off your chest?

Make these points into truths then hold them as principles and you'll get "Here" in 'know' time.

  • If you enjoyed The Fountainhead movie, I recommend the movie Love Letters (1945) with Joseph Cotton and Jennifer Jones; screenplay by Ayn Rand.
