  • that looks exactly like my guitar. is that a g&l legacy?

  • 1:11 SONG?

  • nice flattop bro...

  • Clean up your room bro.

  • I like your attitude. (=p)

  • Haha, screw these haters. XD

I do love your responses though.

    Keep it up man.

  • Jordan was great dude !

  • epic fail on buckethead

  • hey man beautifully installed killswitch! lots of vids have really ugly kill switches :(

i wanna install one in my les paul... how did you install it? i was thinking of drilling a hole with a diameter of about 1.6mm

    any advice you could give?

btw getting one cause of buckethead as well :P

  • buckethead fail

  • cool guitar dude!

  • I just made a homemade killswitch and it only cost 3 dollars.

P.S. i got mine because of buckethead too!

  • did you have to add a resistor to fix the popping?

  • Whoa dude, ease up. The only horse I know is your mother...

  • yeah! nice comeback and nice video

  • WTF??? YOU ARE FUCKING RETARDED!

And your face is REALLY messed up, looks like you got kicked in the face by a horse

  • WOOT! im diging da buckethead

  • Oh my god can there be 1 killswitch video with someone NOT playing Buckethead? Oh yea bro your sh*t needs tuning!

  • FYI I made this video shortly after getting the killswitch, like most of the people with these kinds of vids, so I was still nooby with it. What this needs is a follow-up.

  • @tank52086 yeah... u didn't know.. BH is like master of killswitch... as far as i found... i recently installed one on my guitar ( that actually stayed in) and it sooooooo fun to use..

  • Binge and grab

  • your haircutter is much more talented than you are

  • @UltiMogr Hell yeah, my haircut rocks!

  • what is the name of the type of killswitch cos wen i bought one i cudnt get it to go that fast if u kinw wt i mean, i had to press it continually

  • @gunsnrosesful yea you have to keep pressing it you have to move your hand fast... There are some 'momentary on/off switches' or killswitches that have a tough spring in them... look for easy press on the package may not have it, or if its in a bag press it while its in the bag like i did... Or get an arcade button the Sanwa OBSF-24 is a great swith

  • nah, tom morellos better with killswitch

  • whats with the Face?

  • haha this guy is funny

  • whats with the hair??? hahaha

  • fucking idiot!

  • fag..the killswitch is cool...you not so much

  • coolest guy ever.

  • lmao why is it every time some one has a kill switch they always play some bucket head? lmao =D

  • If it weren't for Buckethead I wouldn't want or need a killswitch.

  • good point

  • BINGE AND GRAB INTRO !!!

  • soothsayer \m/

  • that's funny when he drinks sprite xD ;D

  • I like this guy. Doesn't take himself too seriously.

  • what's the part's number/brand for that switch? it seems like it's a good size, bounces well and is pretty clean.

  • My killswitch is actually broken now...

    ...

For whatever reason (probably the wiring) it's not very responsive anymore, I'm looking to get all the wiring redone inside the guitar.

For what it's worth, it's a SPST Soft-Touch Momentary switch, 'Always-on' is what I remembered. Just a radioshack brand button I found in a Radioshack toolbox. I asked the guy if he had any killswitches and he probably gave me the truck part you see on my guitar in this vid.

  • Cute Guitar colour + Good Playing + Nice Sound = Excelent Video

  • hmmm some buckethead songs... nice video

  • kill switch sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you have to have a good hammer on finger to use a kill switch?

  • Uh no you just tap it. It involves no skill just somehting to mess around with lol.

  • Practice makes perfect

  • Haha i see you really like Buckethead.. I love those songs. "Welcome to BucketheadLand" "Soothsayer" and the mroe poular (Cause of guitar hero) "jordan". Nice killswitch man, im going to make one myself. Keep on rockin' =)

  • you play jordan so badly ;D

  • 0:29 mmmm lol

  • i have a video called Precious (induction to the rock hall of fame) and there in the middle i was wondering if Adam Seymour was using a killswitch during the solo

(the one where it sounds like a siren)

  • i usually use my element switch on my LP when i turned off one element, works for me^^

  • Buckethead's got us all messing with our guitars insides haha. I was going to upgrade my pickups to DiMarzio ToneZone/Air Norton like Buckethead's and maybe put in a killswitch later. Killswitch instillation seems like risky buissness to me though O_o

  • I woulda done those pickups too if I had money but my guitar's going to hell. The electronic innards are all failing one by one and the thing can't stay in tune so I have to play with my better guitar (minus the killswitch)

  • Comment removed

  • bad ass guitar man and ur like tom morello

  • Ah yes, looking back this is not my best at all. Partly because I now remember, I didn't use any distortion effects for this vid, only my amp's distortion channel...which is weak. Still, I wish I could get more feedback like 1:32 all the time.

  • Well, I gotta say that your taste in music is awesome so keep playin that Bucket.

  • i just installed 3 kill switches tonight, two strat copies and a sg special.i'm a gibson guy to strats sound good with p.a.f humbuckers in the neck&bridge spots. with no middle pick up

  • I wish I could customize my own guitars, but I'm a noob with no tools who's never felt the burn of a soldering iron. I'd love to just put some crazy pickups in my guitars.

  • Assuming that you soldered the wires to the killswitch...you should know the basics of soldering...so installing pickups shouldn't be too hard...Just follow the wiring diagram that should come with your pickups....and double check everything before you plug your guitar in to check...I just installed a new Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup..and put in a killswitch.. into my tele-style guitar and it sounds great...

  • Yous suck, plus ure head is square

  • Thanks. This goes out to all the people who make similar comments on my videos. This is an old video: while I've gotten better since then, you're still losers.

  • we dont want to hear ya talking, we wanna kill you!

  • nice video and good skills =^.^=

  • Does this work with Hagstrom-guitars too?

  • i want you to stop playing

  • strats suck but good job.

  • It's a knockoff, but yeah, it still sucks.

  • yeah strats suck, thats why jimi hendrix and SRV and all those other dudes that play strats suck... DEATH METAL RULES... (sarcasm)

  • I'm not dissing the artists, I'm just not a fan of Fender, and the Strat body type is not for me. I aspire to the Gibson camp, though I've gotten accustomed to my strat-knockoff.

  • oh man sorry dude, my comment was meant for ovdirtbiker who said strats suck. you're playing is good, rock on bro.

  • WTF...learn to play!

  • What's wrong with his playing? =\

  • your soooooooo fucking ugly

  • Thanks for checking me out, noob...

  • square hair :O

  • funny

  • soothsayer has a KS in it

  • Sorry peoples, I forgot. Just barely, it does before the guitar...break(?)

  • good try at jordan ^.^

  • ok, so it does. and?

  • lol flat top

WHAT IS A KILLSWITCH funny ass part

  • dude i have a problem the tone is affected with ground, after i installed killswitch, what you think went wrong?

  • fail attemped of jordan lmao 5/5

  • You should also be a tv reporter.. you have good voice and talented to be....

  • you sir are funny you should get an endorsment from sprite

  • Man ur so funny..5starz :D

  • what song is that at 52 seconds

i know ive heard it i forgot the name.

  • It's Soothsayer. The actual song doesn't have killswitch there, but I was at a loss of what to play for this and I just decided Soothsayer would fit.

  • Ooh! i can play soothsayer too, great vid

  • it does include a very little part, actually only once ot twice in the second time he plays part B. when he comes to F#, he's using the killswitch and that's all.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO

-you dont wanna see me talking you wanna see me playing!

-you dont wanna see me playing either you wanna see me humilinating my self XD (sorry if it had mistakes i dont speak english) 5/5

  • Great presentation. That was awesome.

  • seconded

  • i have to agree with smokeagrass. you are fugly.

  • What, you wanna see prettier men?

Get the fuck off my movie...

  • hey why dont u shut the fuck up...people dont care if buckethead or other famous guitar players r ugly...so why should he get judged of he looks....hes a normal person..they dont have to be all cool and shit..

  • u r ugly dude

  • ...sorry...

  • dang that was a mean comment. i liked the switch :)

  • lol theres nothing wrong with been ugly the uglyer you are the better the girl you get cause they know they can trust you

  • Except for me, I'm ugly AND can't be trusted...

  • lol

  • "You dont really want me to play either" hahahahaha

  • do you ever get clicky noises (like you're pulling out your guitar cable) when pressing it? is this normal?

  • I just made one of my own, and every set of instructions I read about killswitches says its totally normal.

  • 0:29 so random

  • lol this is well funny

  • dude, nice. That was amazing

  • fuckin hardcore bro

  • jordan looks mad hard im pretty crappy at teh technical playing gimme a six string and some rock and roll i say

    GUNS N ROSES RULES!!!!!

  • fuck ya guns n roses rules!!!!!

  • GNR FOR LIFE!!

  • i think your trying to be to funny

  • ...Thanks! Spirit of Youtube, eh?

  • LOL funniest vid I've seen on YouTube about a killswitch :D

    PS3 rules LOL. I wish I had a PlaystationEye but I can't afford one :(

  • hey-did u buy a normally open switch?

  • funny and informative nice =P

  • you quite possibly picked the ugliest button to to that trick with. bravo, a applaud your disregard for aesthetics. as well as your buckethead fanism. AWESOME! RADICAL! TOTALLY TUBULAR! i kid i kid, I love your vids dude, you crack me up.

  • The button is beautiful in that it serves as a striking contrast to the rest of the body, a statement about...

Just kidding, that's the kind of crap an ARTIST would say. I needed a button...store had a red button...my guitar now has a red button. End of story. And of course, it's identical to Buckethead's killswitch, so naturally...

  • Dude! what is that first song?!

  • Hah, your funny. "But you don't really want me to play either, you want to see me humiliate myself"

    xD

  • dude buckethead mad good chioce for the demo. lmao man your pretty funny. im seein buckethead in NY the day after holloween. its gunna be sick

  • dude if u put ur guitar strap lower ud be cooler

  • I used to play like that. I had it high to center the camera on the killswitch. Nowadays I play with a few more inches of slack, but I can't play right slinging it too low. It looks fun though, I just can't do it.

  • i love all the buckethead your playing hahaha. im about to go to see him play on the 14th

  • when you got the killswitch and pressed it did it make a clicking sound

  • Every now and again while button-mashing I do hear some clicking, but definitely not the violent cracking that some people hear. That's one of the benefits of having had my killswitch wired by professionals instead of by myself, which I was incapable of doing.

  • you may have an on/off switch. a momentary switch is what you need.

  • Yeah, if your sound doesn't come back on when you let go of the button, you have on/off. That's not as fun as a momentary switch. Mine's momentary...mine's fun.

  • lol funny :L :) =] =)

  • Tom morello dosent use a killswitch he suses 2 vilume knobs and the thing that changes pickups and by llicking inbeetewwn he gets that sound....

  • Whether by toggle-switching or button-mashing, rapid volume cutoff is done by a variety of devices I define collectively as 'killswitches'. Just some lingo, not too technical...

  • what guitar is that

  • A Les Paul or SG typically has the toggle-switching devices on it. If you mean my guitar, it's just a Strat-knockoff painted real awesome-like. Crappy guitar from a no-name company, but it's definitely proved to be worth the 150 I paid for it.

  • Buckethead doesn't use a killswitch in Welcome to Bucketheadland.

  • I know, he doesn't use it in Binge And Grab, either. I was in a rush to make the video and needed some examples. I hadn't heard much of his killswitch use when I made the video, so I threw it in wherever. It's gotten better, trust me.

  • he did

  • how much does it cost to get the type of killswitch you have installed

  • The button killswitch will run you about 300...pennies.

  • sweet

  • They seem pretty hard to use, actually. Alot people I see aren't really as good as you´d expect people to be. Not saying people are bad, only that its hard to get it sound good. Which in turn, also makes this statement say that people like Morello and Buckethead are pretty fucking good at using Sillswitches.

Btw, can you install double killswitches? Or are you able to do it pretty fast with just a single one?

  • so is getting a killswitch mod worth it and is it hard to install...

  • The actual switch, which can vary from a pickup selector-type switch to a button like mine, is pretty dirt cheap. $3 for my button (momentary - always on/open). Don't know about the lever-types.

It depends on your taste in music. For most people, it'll be useless. For imitators of Buckethead, Tom Morello ... or even creative electronica artists, you'll find it totally worth the peanuts you paid for it.

As for installation, there is a 'wrong' way to wire one, so I sent mine in to a shop...

  • ...to get it done right. If you wire it yourself and do something wrong with the prongs on the switch you can totally kill your guitar, which is not what you want, and I'm not entirely convinced that that effect isn't permanent, so I took the safe route. Not having done the installation myself, I'm not a real library of info, but if you check out some other vids you might find out how to DIY.

As for me, the killswitch owns... also great for shutting up in a hurry, for whatever reason.

  • allright thanks man

  • wiring the killswitch the wrong way cant kill ur guitar...

  • I'm just saying what I've heard. If you want to random-wire a killswitch, let me know if your guitar survives.

  • How much did it cost to get someone to install it for you? I'm really interested in getting one installed

  • The guys at the shop I go to only charged me the standard labor charge. That's because I bought the killswitch at Radioshack for about three bucks and told them to put it on my guitar. Depending on where you go, labor could be dirt cheap. Unfortunately, where I go the standard labor charge is 30 bucks. Ouch...but worth it.

  • wow, even 30 bucks seems like a great deal. I was thinking it was going to be like 50-60 bucks. I'm opting for the actual switch type, which probably won't make much of a difference. Thanks

  • Très clair comme information :) thank's

  • LOL the Jordan part.

  • Nice, I just made mine today! Same button, 'cept mine is where the Volume usually is, then I moved that and the first Tone switch each down a hole, seeing as the second Tone does practically nothing. Only downside is that I had to file the hole down quite a bit. Very simple though. Cheers!
