There are better ways to increase the range than this. Making the antenna longer doesn't work very well because the short waves resonate better in a short antenna. A better idea is to increase the voltage going into the antenna or increasing the current. Antenna length works, but gives terrible results in the real world. A more powerful transmitter is always better.

this is bullshit... why? emited power from pc is big and you can recieve signal from far away. but if you want send file etc. you mobile phone dont send strong signal and this cause => error.. or why in this video isnt working connection? this maybe boost range few meters

@niitai5 I dunno about his antenna but if you want more range on your router, this is what i did, first get a linksys WRT54G wireless G router. Download the DD-WRT firmware for it, Then from there i ran RG5 coax from the connectors out to my antennas. The DD-WRT firmware unlocks your routers MAX potential and you can turn up the RX/TX power all the way to 250mw i share wifi with 4 neighbors at my apt complex, and it works pretty good, router gets a lil warm so i also installed a old PC fan

Actually, the extended range remote could come in handy.
