Most Indians do have Caucasian facial structures, but darker skin tones because Southern India is on the same latitude as East Africa, while North India is on the same latitude as Egypt. In fact, I think that all the modern human originated from a proto-African race, which is similar to the Khoisans. Khoisans are different from other Black people in Africa. East Africans (from the Horn of Africa) look different compared to West Africans though. They have dark skin but semi-Caucasoid facial structures, like pointed nose, narrow cheekbones, bit more hairy etc. Those are the ones who could pass for Indians and Arabs. Ethiopians and Somalis have a lot of Western Eurasian DNA too, from back in the days when Indian, Persian and Arabian sailors did trade with them and took East African wives. Chinese haven't mixed with Africans much.

There was continuous waves of migrations all throughout its history from neighbouring regions like Middle East and Central Asia, even so far as the Eurasian steppes. That's why it was discovered the Y chromosones (R1a1a - M17) of most North Indian men matches with Slavic men in Europe.

I read a study that was done by all Asian scientists touching on the India-Southeast Asia connection, it was a Pan-Asian study. The scientists found there was a genetic connection between some south Indians & south-east Asians. But in reality, there are plenty of Indians who look like south-east Asian (vietnamese, filipinos, thai) or who have similar facial features but they live all over India ... and don't even belong to Oriental looking ethnic groups. It's kind of complex.

It's common knowledge that Africa is the most culturally, linguistically, and genetically diverse continent in the world. North Africa is populated by European/white looking people that live in Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, etc. East Africans are mixed DNA, West Africans are Bantus/Congoids, South Africa is populated by Boers, East/South Asians as well as indigenous tribes etc.

Its proven by scientists that all races from outside Africa came FROM Africa, and that includes East Asians. Its just that some groups are more genetically closer to Saharan blacks than others are. Most Indians do have Caucasian facial structures, but darker skin tones because Southern India is on the same latitude as East Africa, while North India is on the same latitude as Egypt. Indians are from the Caucasian sub branch, reason why we look similiar to Europeans is because we shared recent ancestors with Europeans, Middle Easterners and Central Asians (called proto-Indo-Europeans). Btw some Indians do look like Africans, India is almost as diverse as Africa.

@240kankan If you go to China and compared the northern chn with southern chn, esp the indigneous tribes, you will find there's some differences in skin tone and bone structure. Remember that from a long time ago, China already has 56 ethnicities, some of which came from Persia, Russia etc and interbred with the ancient Han people (the majority ethnic grp). So the modern chinese, including the Han Chinese, are a mixed breed, except possibly the indigenous tribes.

Han Chinese don't have Persian or Indo-European ancestry, their Y-markers are completely Asian (belonging to the O haplogroup mainly). so their origins are Mongoloid.
Indians on the other hand have Persian and Russian ancestry because of the Aryan Indo-European migrations, and it shows in their dominant Y-markers (haplogroup R1a and J2).

But if you know anything about chinese history and ethnic groups in China, there's one group called the Chinese Hui Muslim, descendants of the people from ancient Middle eastern, another group called "the kaifeng jews" whose ancestors came from persia during the tang dynasty and settled/married the native chinese there. Then there's a small grp of ethnic Chinese-russians (one parent is russian,the other chinese)

Indo-European haplogroups in East Asia are very very minor and didn't impact the genepool of East Asians at all. The maternal lineages of mainland Chinese is haplogroup M which is absent in Europeans and middle easterners and over 95% of their Y-markers are indigenous to E. Asians. Only the Uyghurs from the Western China province have significant Indo-European Y-markers and Western Eurasian maternal lineages but that's because the tarim basin was full of Indo-Europeans before.

These people were brought to the Americas, (New York, Virigina, West Virginia, etc.) and the caribbean islands in large amounts.They were also brought to Peru who are now called Afro- Peruvians.

However, the Black people in African mainland do not have haplogroup O, haplogroup O is completely absent from African mainland. The haplogroup O in Madagascar does not came from mainland Africa, it came from Indonesia via the Austronesian migration. African Americans might have haplogroup O, there are two possibilities to explain this result: first, their ancestors might come from Madagascar; second, in the 19th century, many Chinese men immigrated to North America, they were not allowed to bring their wives with them. Since they could not find White wives, most of them married to Black wives.

It is almost absent in Western Eurasia, and it is completely absent in Africa (Madagascar was influenced by Indonesians, that's the only abnormal region of Africa). The thing with haplogroups is that they can be so ancient that groups who once originated from the same clan can become extremely divergent (through mixing with indigenous peoples or genetic isolation). Haplo E is found in high frequency among Greeks and Ethiopians but no sane person would suspect it by looking at Greeks. A lot of North Africans (especially Berbers) have Y dna E, but many of them could pass for Southern Europeans. Haplo E is far too old (50, 000 yrs BP at least).

Its more true that white EUROPEANS are genetically closest to Africans since haplo E is present all the way into Russia, and a lot of South Europeans like Italians, Portuguese & Spaniards mixed with blacks during their ancient civilizations owing to slave trades. Um the real reason the Chinese were not considered honorary whites in SA was because the Apartheid govt was afraid of offending American and western European sensibilities because the Chinese were communist and it was in the cold war. Also Chinese at the time were poor and their trading relationship with SA was not as great as it is now. And Taiwanese, who were honorary whites, are Han Chinese. Not mainland Chinese but ethnically Han Chinese. Nonetheless they were still 'coloured'.

Recently, more and more African wish to relate themselves with superior nation such as Han Chinese, in order to pass their inferior gene into Han's bloodline, and establish more business relationship with us. Natural selection theory.

Haha japanese people hate chinese people. It's no surprise they funded this study. Southern chinese and s.e. asians are probably closer to blacks but northern chinese look a lot different and are genetically different. East asians are our own race. The farther east you go the less black you are. But in a way we are all black bc humans all originated from africa.
