  • My hats off to ya'll boys

  • Great job guys.

  • All the best Hillbillies are from Southern Ohio. I bet there's more people listen to Charlie Poole in Meigs County than there are in the whole State of North Carolina. You guys rock. Could you maybe put up some instructions on how you made and tuned that string base?

  • @swampdog12345 It just happened man. I took a peice of ripped trim board, bout 2 inch wide 1 inch thick drilled a hole in the top, cut a V shape on the bottom which slides right into the little notch of a 5gallon bucket where the handle attaches, then tie a knot in one end of weed eater string and a hole directly in the center of the bucket, insert string through bucket and up to the hole on the neck. You can use whatever you like for the tuner.

  • @swampdog12345 nah man real hillbillies down here in west by god virginia but so ohio is good to

  • I think you and Josh Wallace should do some other songs like this........you both have good voices and love the bucket.....have only seen a washtub fixed up like that! Great job!!

  • This is awesome. What is the instrument you are playing, and how do you make it? Is it supposed to be like an upright bass?

  • Its a bass I made out of a 5 gallon paint bucket. And im not playing it, It my buddy Josh. But it was real easy to make and tunes up really good!

  • I like better than the original.

  • need to come & play on the river

  • Two thumbs up from western Kentucky. Love it!!!

  • AWESOME! What did you use to make your bass?

  • 5 gallon paint bucket, a 1 inch stick(or whatever you want for the neck) and weed eater string. Made it at work one day on my lunch break!

  • @redeyedrednek if that stick is 1 inch I'm married to the wife of chuck norris

  • well, its about an inch width and maybe a half inch thick. Its not big at all, its actually a peice of ripped shelving board. Its strong and does the job.

  • Thanks. We like that ol timey sound!!

  • Did you make that bass yourself... becasue its sweet... I was going to make a canjo but after seeing this video I changed my mind. Howd you make it?

    Oh and sweet video

  • Yea I made it, Josh is better at playing it though, I made it with a 5 gallon paint bucket, a good sturdy neck/stick which is just a peice of wood, and the string is weed eater string, I cut a triangular tip on the stick and slid it down into the handle peice on the outside of the bucket, then drilled a hole in the top, tied the string in a not inside the bucket, ran it to the top of the stick and pulled it tight and tied it off, its amazing!! I cant belive it turned out in tune!
