  • He was at his best on his first movie, Above the law.

  • what bullshit

  • Wish he would take off that dress, put on some real mma shorts and fight someone who isnt getting paid not to crack him in the face

  • He would have broken every single wrist/hand and the body flips in response to the control he possesses over your center of gravity and because people like to keep their arms. All a street fighter has to win a fight is his hands and with out them it is over quickly.

  • @APCPscorp Yup, people like to keep their arms. People also don't run at you with their arms sticking out like robots in a real fight, you idiot. Aikido sucks.

  • @solpapisolmook You are calling accomplished martial artists idiots from the safety of your computer you dumb fat fuck.. dont make me find you.

  • @APCPscorp Hahaha!! "Don't make me find you"!! The toughest words ever spoken on the Internet!! Come and find me, big man. I'll give you some incentive: your mother is a filthy whore.

  • It's painfully obvious that the commenters here, especially the "top comments", don't know the first thing about Aikido or true Martial Arts. Go watch an MMA/UFC match instead you wannabes. :)

  • @migopower---bruce lee was the muhammed ali of martial arts---his speed was never equaled

  • he has the most training and the only one who would have beat him is bruce lee

  • @EMCEMITCH wake up .,.....bruce lee sux

  • i would love to see his reaction from a nice right hander to the jaw lmao

  • Man aikoido is so over!! MMA showed since 1993 what martail arts are realy effective , and which ones sholud be combined. Aikido is like- u punch me here, u go fake kick, u go miss on pourpse etc. Besides look where his hands are man, no guard.....

  • Not realistic fighting at all. I took Aikido for a couple years and those that are really good and that have adapted to realistic street fighting defense can be pretty brudal, but Aikido demonstrated on Aikido students is just ridiculous. After two years I questioned my sensei and feinted a low kick and stopped my fist in front of his face.. two weeks later I attempted the same question against a Muay Thai instructor... soon as I went to throw the same feint, he front kicked me in the gut

  • ! NO MAMEN QUE GRAN MAMADA!

  • Only Chuck norris can beat him

  • What did I learn from this? Don't run up to hug Steven Segal without giving him fair warning first.

  • oh, and obviously there attacking slowly because its a demonstration

  • Sick of all the dickhead know it alls.

  • cheo313, shut your mouth, because obviously you dont know what the f@#k your talking about.

  • hand grabbing is his best move..eventho it seems painful, JCVD would rip this fool a new a-hole..lol

  • Seems a bit fake -_-

  • nipple cripple at 1:47

  • people talk shit cuz they have know odea how fast and what hes doing to there arm..twisting grapping forcing it ways its not supposed to.. flip or get ya shit broke..

  • @cheo313 Rubbish. The talented guys here are the guys doing all the jumping and rolling. I agree that arm locks and small joint manipulation is effective but they're also not really trying to attack him, they're just reaching out slowly as if to grab him. Any proper striking based fighter would knock him out. Sorry, but it's true. Aikido has value as a form of self defense but only against people with little or no training

  • @KCwalksabout aikido works if you already are tai chi master.

  • problem is they keep getting up why not just knock them out

  • Steven Seagal is fucking idiat he shud film in comedys, vorst of the actors, hate his mowies...

  • Is this for real ! This is a dance routine !

Imagine him trying this horses*it in the Octagon with Jon Jones ! Segal would be sucking canvas within 2 seconds, and swallowing his teeth within 3 !

  • im sure i could do the same thing with 90 pound asians.......

  • So if i ever have nuns attacking me ..ill know what to do.

  • Anyone bad mouthing this is not a real martial artist. It may be different from your style, but it still deserves respect, which is a main principle of all martial arts. As with any demo, they are breaking their fall by rolling to avoid injury. The techniques show here are situation specific as with all. No point blocking jodan if an attack is coming gedan. You'll get hit. Why don't the shit talkers go an take an aikido lesson and show them how to fight then?

  • this is all choreograph fighting... its all bullshit. you never see these moves in the Octagon... sorry steve

  • @SamWhitemoon1 First of all, Aikido is not about fighting, it's about defending yourself, and using your opponent's force against him, that's why you don't see Aikido inside the Octagon witch is nothing but violence. The choreography though, is necessary because during the procedures the person that takes the hits can be badly injured or hurt.l. And if you're still not convinced , go fight someone taking Aikido classes, and you'll remember my words when you hit the ground, hard.

  • @SamWhitemoon1 Perhaps it is for demonstration purposes. What did you want him to do, injury his students? What technique do you master, boy?

  • @dalotel He has no problem injuring stuntmen or his ex-wives, so why not injure his students too?

  • @solpapisolmook Because....he respects them?

  • @dalotel You're saying he respects the people who study under him more than the woman he asked to marry him; whom he proclaimed his love for and made human beings with? I just want to clarify.

  • @solpapisolmook You implied he hits his wives, so I figured if that's true, however you discovered that information, he certainly didn't respect them by comparison to being patient and careful with his students. Besides, I have issues with women, and have a hard time respecting them as a whole. However, I'm not abusive or condone spouse abuse whatsoever. I just keep the credit cards hidden.

  • @dalotel Sounds about right coming from a Seagal fan. That is the caliber of people who respect this fat cunt.

  • @solpapisolmook Who respects you? What did you do in life? Loser. You insult accomplished people so you feel your existence matters? Just stand in traffic and call it a life. No one wants to listen to your twisted mind and ugly thinking anymore, OK?

  • @dalotel Nope, I'll continue. That is, until you can refute anything I've written so far, jackass.

  • @SamWhitemoon1 it is an art, that is liking walking up to a piccaso and saying it is stupid because he uses a paintbrush... wtf do you know? Shut the fuck up.

  • @APCPscorp That's the best analogy I've ever heard..

  • @SamWhitemoon1

dude..i'm not an aikido practicer but...one is RING FIHT..OTHER IS STREET FIGHT....in street fight .....in the second traditional martial arts (welll learne and trained as hell for years are the best....that's it.

  • Okay guys. run at Steve, when he touches you flip over and land on the ground.

  • @Darkfalz79 it clearly says its only a demonstartion

  • @Darkfalz79 Would be a rather boring demonstration if try to resist, your wrist breaks and it's over. =/

  • @Darkfalz79 The clotheslines don't look faked

  • @Darkfalz79 u run your mouth and flip over ur words mate.steven segal was one of the first westerners to be deemed a master over there,do u understand how highly rated that is?.he will fuck u up.

  • @HINTON301977 sorry dude but i live in japan and i take aikido, its good for exercise but it worthless in a street fight, even tough i have spent years in aikido i cant honestly say i would try it in a fight, but i am big and i can wrestle /box so maybe thats why it seems so useless to me.

  • @microdork80 What does living in Japan have anything to do with your failure? It's interesting you compare wrestling and boxing to martial arts. Apples and oranges. Bascially you're a liar, a child, and feel your story will support your ignorant comments to other ignorant children.

  • @dalotel i didn't lie about anything i just said aikido dosn't seem practical in a real street fight,

  • @HINTON301977 He can't even control his eating disorders. How the hell can he "fuck u up"? He was deemed master, yeah, but that's not so impressive when you figure in the fact that he was married to his sensei's daughter, you stupid ass.

  • @Darkfalz79 go back to your skyrim games boys. You'll never understand any discipline. Go into any dojo, and challenge the master, then post how fast you ended up on the ground. With your gamer soft bodies, I bet you can't get up very easily to even leave in shame.

  • Can someone tell me what throw that is in 1:43

  • The best is CHILD SCREAM BU HAHAHAHA

  • Steven Seagal would like to assure viewers that no Japs were harmed during the making of this video.

  • has anyone seen Seagal do something like this against fully resisting opponents? I have not.

  • @JuJuGatame He's been a cop for almost 20 years, so it's probable,

  • agora todos sabem de onde ele tira os gol´pes de seus filmes

  • 1:53 hair flick lol

  • Comment removed

  • I thinis it aikido or steven seagal that never practices real attacks? not just in this video but in all video i have seen so far the opponent have holding back in training. Makes my think Bas Rutten is right and most moves are not to use in real fight or in mma. I want to see a real punch trow and real kicks. I like to see tamateur boxer vs. black beld aikido.

  • @DXboxerDZ It's Aikido. Flashy and 100% unrealistic.

  • @PessimiStick

Aikido is verry realistic and verry effective, but it takes time and patience to master

  • @Capeau No, it's not. There's a reason no one ever uses it in actual competition.

  • @PessimiStick

its been used allot. Probably not the kind of 'competition' you look at though. I dont call sensational entertainment real martial art competitions ;)

  • @Capeau A fight between two people at 100% resistance is the only competition that matters. And in those situations, Aikido is garbage (which is why no one uses it).

  • @PessimiStick

You're from the us i see. Do you realise us special forced learn aikido also? Yes, because its that useless

  • @Capeau I'm sure they learn wrist/arm locks as a control, which is fine. Except that you have to actually GET control first, which doesn't happen with all the flashy worthless shit in this video. Aside from the fact that almost any technique (no matter how worthless) can be applied by someone who is legitimately skilled against an untrained scrub. I look like a blackbelt when grappling with untrained people, but that doesn't mean I'm actually capable of that against actual skilled opponents.

  • @PessimiStick

Off course the fighting in this video isnt realistic, its choreographed like most demonstrations in martial arts events. You cant judgde a martial art by that, everyone knowns that. Sorry, but this is going to be my last reply on this. We both have are opinions lets keep it at that. Cheers and peace :)

  • I'm no expert on Akido, though I'm given to understand it can look kind of "fake" just because of how effortless an expert makes it look. I knew at least one martial arts master who respected Steven and showed us this video... but that still doesn't excuse the movies the guy makes... ah well, they made for good MAD tv fodder.

  • evry video that i see of this bitch seagull he is tossing some little jap boy around. any body can toss some boy around.

  • well certainly hes using one of his paid boys or puppets to make him look good. like to see him use on some big bad ass dudes in real life on the street. then ill be impressed. hes so fake.

  • i think it is a demonstration like any other style out there. however, take a demonstration in brazilian jiu-jitsu. i think bjj would be as free and smooth as this one, but it would not make it look so easy and effortless as aikido does here--perhaps a hint with regard to its better approximation of defending one's self in real situations in the street. but i'm not saying aikodo has no merit in this respect, for it, too, has something valuable to offer in real self-defense situations.

  • Actually in aikido it just looks pretty like that when it is choreographed...In a real situation the assailant, instead of doing a nice smooth flip, will instead land on their face. Aikido is strictly a defensive art, and the more the assailant moves the more Ki you have to work with. Nice demonstration btw

  • I like Aikido and all but how often in a real street fight is somebody gonna run at you and just flail there arms so you can conveniently throw them in a predictable fashion?

  • i know it's just a demonstration.. but i do wonder, what's so impressive about choreographed falling over? and how legitimate some of those throws are unless used on someone who is just running at you like an idiot?

  • He has a height/reach advantage for certain.

  • nice dress

  • Awesome fighter, shitty actor

  • Every Aikido actor is afraid he some day would have to fight against a free fighter.

  • It obviously depends on what school/dojo you attend. What I'm trying to put across that there in some martial arts including those I have mentioned it seems as there is too much focus on working towards a gradings rather than a rounded approach. This is only speaking form experience and from others that have joined our aiki group from other forms including TKD and Karate. Do you do aikidio?

  • I have been doing the traditional Masubi form for 2 years now and I have to say it is one of the hardest martial arts to learn. Unlike others you are continuously learning, You don't stop when you reach a certain grade. The purpose of the art is to intimidate and humiliate the opponent by redirecting their energy, While Segal doesn't look to injure opponents Aikido puts your opponent in a position where you can without them possibly being able to retaliate.

  • I'm wondering, in which martial art do you reach a certain point and stop learning? This statement sounds like a personal philosophy, not a martial style. I don't know how old you are or what you practiced before but that may have nothing to do with a halt in learning. At a certain point you realize that in every aspect of life you are a teacher and a student. We recieve what we chose to take from every situation.

  • Well I can't speak for all martial arts but for the ones I have practiced before which include judo, Karate and Tae Kwondo the progression from one stage to the next is defined by which belt you have and is far too linear.

I have seen too many times that people who have reached the top grades in martial arts like karate, have stopped as they feel that there is not a lot more to learn.

I feel that aikido offers a more rounded approach without instant results.

  • I'll count myself fortunate that the TKD and Karate schools which I've attended did not work this way. Yes we worked up through belts based on learning forms but the learning of skills and techniques had nothing to do with belt rank. I'm interested to know what region of the country you are from. From my experience that has something to do with how some schools (across many styles) are run. I'm from the north east. The most restrictive school I've ever visited didn't sound like what you describe

  • @benji842 I can only speak for Karate, but there is no point where you stop learning. People who reach black belt and feel that there is nothing to learn are ignorant and do not deserve a black belt. There is always more to learn. A black belt is only half way through the grade system. If there is nothing else to learn, why are there another 10 grades after and you need 55 years to get there? The only restriction in martial arts is the closed mind of the practitioner.

  • that was a great demonstration. Aikido is a really great art. I just hear you have to train real hard to be able to use it in streets.

  • weapons and bullets are their main weakness

  • weapons are for gays and cowards...fight like a real man, use your fists

  • I think one uses what they must in order to survive!!!

  • LOL, Weapons with bullets in them. Principles of Aikido actually transfer nicely into melee weapons combat.

  • Ah. Of course. Any "decent" martial artist. So, it's fake when it's aikido, but it's "real" when it's, say, aikijutsu? Any "decent" martial artist would have some respect for what they were looking at and, more importantly, know enough to be able to see what they're doing. It's a demo. EOS.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

  • @iatsd A demo? A.K.A. stunt?

  • Thats why pussies like you are weak and ignorant.

  • steven segal is a 7th dan of this disapline

he may be an actor but he can really do this the dedercation to be of that standard is un-comparable.

  • near miss, you go down on purpose, i tell you what to do, checks in the mail.

  • he can really take on 12 people dude

  • you the man ss

  • good acting / demonstration.

  • uhm arieswaters....

just letting you and your three year old ways know that

and this is cool, hes hitting their pressure points to bring them down i do believe, but not positive cause im batman and dont need pressure points to bring someone down

  • I can't tell, is he just tapping the people or is he hitting them somewhere so they just fall?

  • Umm right so when you see Special Forces doing it then its a movie then and when the police use it, it must be a tv show mmm maybe you cna teach them bettr than

  • What kind of deluded fuck would teach a pig?

  • A cook....I have taught pigs were the boiling pot is for a few years, I have gotten rave reviews :D

  • Now, this is REAL Aikido!
