@SeanyFuckingG Most studies suggest organic can feed the world and benefits poor countries more than conventional or GM. srfood.org/images/stories/pdf/press_releases/20110308_agroecology-report-pr_en.pdf
@SeanyFuckingG UN/World Bank report International Assessment of Agricultural Science Technology Development by 400 scientists concluded that biotechnology has very little potentional to alleviate hunger or poverty.
It's a shame there was no real debate in the US , a "subdued" debate in Canada at this time , nine years ago.GMOs is not just about the product if they have not been shown to be safe or reasonably marketed. There can be no co-existance it seems as the likelihood is that organic gmo free choice is destroyed by stealth and hype.
These fucking arseholes in the government can go home to their food which they can quite easily afford, so they can't see the need for GM. Why not ask the 3rd world if they want GM crops, because I'm pretty sure they would quite happily say yes.
Really? Have you heard of what happened in India? 100 000 farmers committed suicide due to GM cotton not working well, debt, etc. The Third World is already being used as Guinea pigs (Pfizer in Niger is the inspiration for John LeCarre's book & film The Constant Gardener). Corrupt govt groomed by the West (e.g. Mugabe, OBE), and starving people. Please show more respect.
Get fucked, you have no idea how they feel obviously, it has been proved it can be healthy and considering it has the potential to cure world hunger it would be well worth any trouble.
LOL, given the amount of food that's being wasted so as not to get prices down, your claims are a bit silly - but then again, you seem not to have brains or manners.
Outstanding presentation pitting reasoned science against special interest marketing. A marketing representative who combined fear-mongering attacks on competing products to sell his higher priced, but no greater value products, juxtaposed to an independent academician was helpful to consumers navigated the various voices seeking influence over GMOs. Revealing and nice job by the CBC!
