The secondary effect of the gun is actually pretty good. It turns everyone exposed to it inside out. But you have to be close to the enemy to deal good damage.

It's Kraken-esque, but it's not a Locust because... SPOILERS AHEAD

The Locust chase you down a river in gunboats, but then at the entrance to a cavern they back off and retreat and the giant fish monster emerges. So the Locust are afraid of it.

It's a better fight too. You have to chainsaw it's tentacles before it sinks your boat and then shoot it's eyes when it bites the boat and run into its mouth and throw a grenade down its throat.

Yes, R2's online is better, but gears is not glitchy. I haven't run into one.

Besides, the gameplay is better, the story is engaging and complex and it only lags if someone has a bad connection. R2 is on dedicated servers so lag in almost nonexistent. But like I said they are both awesome and it's just my opinion. Don't be a fanboy.

I prefer small competitions like 4v4 and 5v5, it allows for better competitive gameplay, strategy, skill and communication. I would only use something like 30vs30 just for fun or when I'am on with friends and communicating with large amounts of people.
