One has no restrictions on ownership and can be had for less than $300 in any gun store across the continent and is useful for other things like hunting, the other costs several thousand dollars and requires a mountain of time and paperwork to own. This is even before you decide to tackle the questionable usefulness of a full auto handgun. I personally would be considerably more comfortable with a shotgun than a 2lb handgun shooting at 1000+ rpm.

The fact of the matter is that a shotgun and an automatic handgun have greatly different capabilities and are used for very different applications. A shotgun is EFFECTIVE to 100m, and can breach doors, while your full auto pistol is somewhat concealable.

@1169Timothy CQB is fighting that is at a range where hand to hand combat is a reality and must be trained for. Sure, a sword is sarcasm, but how about a baton? A baton is absolutely something that a police officer would have in a CQB scenario.

The one good Glock model is the 17 , really a nice weapon , both the Glock 18 and 19 are ( mainly the 18 autom. ) are crap and have defects ( the 18 )

If I remember well the NYPD 10 years ago was forced to recall 25000 Glock 19s 'cos they were dangerous due to jamming malfunction and they were just useless weapons ( ridiculous and farcical at one time ! ) .

Beretta handguns all the way : who really knows weapons knows so well there's no comparison , Berettas are much more reliable

Beretta or Glock? Both are awesome but think about this, the US military chose beretta M9/92 to replace 1911 as it's official side arm because it was the only handgun to pass it's rigorious testing.

The G-18 is the Austrian Army version. It's not allowed to own it except of the military. As far as I know in the USA besides the army only the FBI and some units of the police are allowed to use it. But I'm not sure. You "yankees" are weapon-freaks and allowed to own almost everything...
