Yeh...we should have had our greatest teachers on video in the classroom back in the early 80's with "good" teachers partnering to really assist those students who were having a tough time understanding the content. Plus the classroom teachers could have spent far more time getting to know student's individual needs and empowering them. Sadly over 75% of teachers do not have the inspirational empowerment gene (actually more like 95%) As a result our children and nation suffer.

OMG...I love you too Chad, I see from your site profile that you are from one of my favorite towns, Turlock. Years ago I raced in their turkey race . During the same visit I judged the Miss Rodeo California Pageant and I was inspired to perform my very first stand up routine. I went to the local Goodwill bought a blond wig and a toilet plunger and played a washed up Miss Rodeo from the 1950's.  I had such a blast. I love Turlock and the people of Turlock!

I actually go to school at CSU Stanislaus, but am from southern CA... so yea, I can't believe anyone has heard of this tiny town! lol.

Did u know they shut down the turkey races? It's true, they're no more. Apparently one of the school's presidents didn't like the fact that the school was being nicknamed "Turkey tech" and called for an end to the turkey races...

What a small world though! =]

I know...I was so sad when they shut down the turkey races. I thought that the label "Turkey Tech" was a great name for branding. I think the university should have embraced it...They could have sold millions of t-shirts over the web. Why did you choose CSU?

lol, right?? It could've become an annual Thanksgiving tradition that people from all over the country came to participate in! =P

I actually had never heard of the school until my 10th grade english teacher told me about it, and I convinced my family to take a detour when we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium once and I fell completely in love with the campus. =P

You just inspired me to google my favorite Turlock citizen, Will Keener, he used to work for CSU and was involved in the Turkey Tech Grand Prix. The internet says he passed away last year. I'll have to contact his family. So sad, but I'm sure he's celebrating on the other side. He was a real giver. He's the reason I love Turlock so much. He was one of Turlock and the world's finest citizens...think I'll say some prayers now.
