Thanks man, just made this, but you're correct in using two timers, I tired it with one and lava started pumping into the right side xD

Does anyone have an explanation for why there are two inlets and one outlet on the lava side, but only one inlet and two outlets on the water side? Why does it work this way?

@d00kiebird I'd suggest that you play with it, try taking away the top inlet pump, you can see how this changes the flow of the lava. Fully submerged inlet pumps (all 4 of its blocks have liquid on them) will suck up more liquid than is actually there. The reason for having one inlet at the top and one at the bottom is so that not too much lava is removed from the bottom, keeping it submerged and thus duplicating liquid. As for the water side, I believe it still works with only one outlet pump.

@cybereden I've tested it for well over 2000 obsidian straight, and concluded that it never needs refilling, but who knows, maybe it will stop making obsidian for a second or two after 9000!

lol, after watching this i decided to make my home out of stone brick its roughly 60x40 and has over 20 FULL chests and the obsidian generator works great might make my home obsidian brick ^_^

@0wastetime0 I don't think you can use just one timer, as that would require both the lava circuit and the water circuit to be connected with the same wire, and you certainly don't want lava pumping into your water reservoir or vice versa.

@Settian1 I'd suggest that you check over the video again carefully and make sure you have built it exactly the same. Also you may have to first fill up the lava chamber a bit before it will start to duplicate. If however you're playing on a server that would likely be the reason for it not working.

@saurondude9 As far as I know there are two glitches going on here. Firstly is the liquid duplication glitch where a fully submerged inlet pump will output more than it takes in. The second glitch is the single line of liquid takes far longer to deplete than it normally would. So you need very little additional liquid dropping below (enough to always make a single line every second or so) in order to keep the whole thing going! I hope that's understandable :D

Heyy guy, very very good job but i've just 1 problem.. the lava in my generator is getting less and less... after is start my 1-second timer my problem begins after around 200 obsidian blocks my lava is almost empty and i have to refill.. i'm playing on single player and i would be very happy if u could help me ^^ as far as i see there's no building mistake.. well hope u can help me :))

@AladdinCassim Did you use the correct pumps? On the Lava side at the top it's an outlet pump + inlet pump, and the bottom it's an inlet pump and all 3 are wired to the same 1 second timer. I know that problem happens if you use the wrong pumps, but if that's not the problem I can get you to email me your map file and I'll take a look at it.

@PIanetKrypton Sorry, that hasn't happened for me. If you're playing on a server that might be the reason, I've only tested this on single player and so far I haven't encountered that glitch. :(
