i got 4 red rigns like 10 minutes ago, scared the shit outta me didnt know what to do. so i immediately do the towel trick, unplug everything but the power cord. turn it on wrap it in a thick towel. and wait 10 minutes. turn it off. take the towel off. let it cool for 5 minutes. and turn it on and it worked.

E74 is an error code supposidly caused by a "cold solder joint" underneath the motherboards cpu, gpu, ram, etc. a cold solder joint means that an overheating problem has caused youe solder to come loose from the motherboard under the cpu or gpu or ram. i used a heat gun that get up to 500 degrees (hot enough to melt solder) and it works perfect. Youtube has a couple videos for this type of fix. This was the only way to get it to work without sending it back to microsoft. go get em' noobs. ;)

4 rings = something is unplugged

3 rings = Red Ring of Death

2 rings = Overheating

1 ring = E71 Error

for E71 error send to microsoft or wait 1 min and re start it.

for overheating turn it off wait 30 mins and turn back on. or its the game. download the game onto the hard drive.

Red ring of death means the power core was unplugged while in use or definitely send to microsoft.

simply plug back in the unplugged cable.
