  • ho!

  • I was so happy when she stuck the second one!!!

  • That vault just looks stupid!

  • @TheHighPandaBear

What does that mean?!?!? I see that comment on soooo many videos!

  • ...arrow to the knee

  • @TheHighPandaBear more like mat to the knee :)

  • my right ear is sad...it got no attention.

  • so?

  • @livelaughbeauty223 OMG I'm sooo sorry! I didn't even realize you were talking about someone else!! I thought you were talking about the video! I'm so sorry! :(

  • @livelaughbeauty223 seriously? no one cares. she had hurt her leg in the past and had to do the vault after hurting it again. did you still compete with that wrist? didn't think so...so fuck off.

  • It's funny because I've stress fractured one wrist .. And fractured the other ... And the stress fracture hurt 10x more ..

  • @livelaughbeauty223 good for you. I don't care.

  • I s that tim? He was annoying even back then...

  • @alliemart121 oh yes!:)))

  • I've always thought that if I would get an injury that would really threaten my career, I would cry more from the fact that I might not get back to the level I was at than from the pain.

  • @XC804 I couldn't agree more.

  • I think this video taught me not to give up easily.

  • @pha100 no it wSent

  • Well..... That was dumb

  • thats exactly what happened to rebecca bross

  • how kristen maloney made it to the olympic team beats me. her form is atrocious.

  • that vault looks REALLY short...

  • I don't know what the big fuss is. She was being a baby after her first vault, then she grew a set and did the second one.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s Yeah, a stress fracture, what a baby.

  • @LuinaeLove Please, I played hockey on a broken ankle and didn't even think twice about it. Don't know why people make a big deal about some things.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s Yes, and I'm sure you also were dealing with the pressure and emotion of competing for your country at the Olympics...

  • @secretstore And that makes it harder to compete in pain...... how? Pain is pain. Whether it's friends and family or a world audience. Fact of the matter is that she's a sissy. Doug Gilmore played in the NHL with a broken ankle and didn't complain one bit. Martin St. Louis took a stick to the face, had surgery and was on the ice the next day. Stress fracture? That pain is insignificant in competition. No pain, no gain.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s Pain tolerance is also exclusive to a person. Something that causes you great amounts of pain may be fine for another person and vice versa. So "no pain, no gain" really isn't a valid thing to say.

  • @StormValleyStables Yes, it is valid. That is what sports and competition is all about. And also, her clearly low pain tolerance (which is all in her head) is exactly why I called her a sissy.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s I'm sorry but are you an elite level gymnast? Do you know how hard their legs are beaten down while doing the vault? The concussion on the body is unreal. A fracture is a fracture, and even though her injury wasn't huge, it still hurt to be sprinting on it, and landing from a vault like that on it. Stop acting high and mighty on the internet.

  • @StormValleyStables "A fracture is a fracture". Good point, seeing as how I FRACTURED my ankle while playing hockey, and insisted on finishing the game. Except I didn't cry like a little bitch. Unlike you, I can put myself in her shoes, seeing as I have been in her situation before. Except instead of a small sissy stress fracture, it was a complete full fracture, so it was actually even worse.

When you get on that level of pain, then you can come talk to me.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s Your comment made you look like a dick instead of the hero you imagine.

  • @SuperCrazybumblebee I don't claim to be a hero. My only claim thus far has been that this girl is a sissy and a whiner. People are trying to make her out to be a hero, and she is nothing close.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s A stress fracture IS a "full fracture." This girl also had a titanium rod inserted in her shin, and was at this time performing the most difficult tumbling on floor exercise being done by a woman in the entire world. She landed short on a difficult vault, which is excruciating on HEALTHY legs. If she really was a "sissy," she absolutely would not have vaulted again. Your comments make you look like a real douchebag, and you're obviously misinformed about what you're commenting on.

  • @kalibeast I had to get surgery to insert TWO titanium rods to fix it. And yet I still didn't complain, I kept playing. Does that make me a hero? NO IT DOESN'T. And my point is this girl is not special either. She is a completely typical athlete, who is willing to do anything to win. Except that she is a sissy for crying for an injury as minute as that. If she was still able to run after that, and stick her second vault, she wasn't in any significant pain.

    No pain, no gain.

  • @kalibeast Not really. You are the misinformed one. Wikipedia stress fracture and the first words are, "A stress fracture is one type of incomplete fracture in bones." Key word: incomplete. As in a sissy injury in comparison to the hordes of athletes before and after her who have competed in worse situations.

I, on the other hand, suffered a closed, complete transverse fracture, which I can tell you is MUCH more painful than that sissy stress fracture.

  • @Th3ch0s3n0n3s okay dude you have some serious problems...a stress fracture can hurt more than a real fracture and if you land on it like that and run on it like that you can feel pain like a real fracture! and your broken ankle was in hockey not gymnastics where there is about three times the stress on your body than hockey! and "no pain no gain" isnt helping you because it makes no sense based on what you are saying!!! ok she is amazing for doing her second vault!!!

  • @Labdoger64 A stress fracture does NOT hurt more than a full fracture. I don't know what planet you live on, but in hockey I wear a ton of equipment, that mixed with skating (which puts enormous stress on the ankles) and having to take body checks... you have no idea the level of stress an ankle is under in hockey. No pain no gain makes perfect sense, and this video is an example. And the phrase "no pain, no gain" has place in every sport, at all times. It's how we athletes grow.

  • Nobody Likes A Smartass ;]

  • kerri strung moment ;)

  • @2004dale Kerri Strug not strung :)

  • @LoveWickedWitch awe dang, i usually catch my spelling errors lol thanks dude. your photo of leo- i have that same photo in my computer lol :)

  • U...C...L...A...UCLA...FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.

  • she is one tough gymnast you could see the pain in her eyes but she pushed through it way to go girl

  • epic

  • Now thats one tough girl

  • is it just me or are yurchenko DTY's injuring everyone?

  • This girl reminds me alot of Kerri Strung...

  • then came rebecca...

  • Que huevos para continuar.

  • why can't i be an olympian :(

  • this just goes to show you can do anything if u set your mind to it

  • guts!

  • What a persistent girl - crashed first but then nailed it :D

  • The Sydney games were just embarrassing - we get the chance to host the games and then we make the monumental screw-up of making the vault too low. I really felt for these ladies. It wasn't their fault.

  • @Luubelaar Still not worse than China.

  • @GardiniaBloom Are you saying this because you can't stand the fact that it was better than expected or you just don't like them? Honestly i thought it was one of the best games so far.

  • @hihihui1 I was referring to the Age Controversy in both the Sydney and Beijing Olympics actually. A lowered vault is nothing compared to ruing the hopes and dreams of both gymnasts from other nations as well their own Chinese gymnasts who took the brunt of the shame and that is unfair.

  • whaaaat compared to the new vaults that thing looks like a death trap o.O

  • Where? Is the "famous crash"? I don't see any crashes.

  • @seohyuni1 hmm maybe the first one? its famous because she is hurt but she makes a perfect second vault after a crash, thats soo good.

  • it's so weird watching this now that they've changed the vault and scoring system, I'm too used to the new one :/

  • I can't even image Parkette's girls in the new quad where difficulty is stressed... Maybe that's why we haven't seen any for a while...? Too many injuries..?

  • i dont see anything funny

  • bye retired xD

  • she´s brave

  • She's a lioness and nothing else. MOckers get a life, and be someone, Before criticize

  • girl is TUFF

  • is that women paralympics ?

  • Is it healthy to stick a landing. If it is damaging to the body the judging of the sport needs a complete over haul towards more natural mechanics.

  • @iMaDeMoN2012 if you land right stickign is nothing its all about how you do it

  • @goatsymotesy07 I know jumping and if you land knees lock you will do damage to your joints.

  • I really think the problem was that in the year leading up to these Olympics, Bela Karolyi had these gymnasts doing numerous training camps and constantly on them about their weight and conditioning. Coaches and gymnasts were getting very frustrated with his demands. I think by the time the Olympics rolled around, these girls were just exhausted and burned out. After these games, Bela was removed as national team coordinator and his wife took over.

  • wasnt the vault not at the correct measurements during this, or was it just in the AA?

  • I always felt like vanessa atler should have been on this team. they acted like everyone was so solid, but they all fell a million times at these olympics. if they just kept atler off bars, she was as good as any of them... and she belonged on vault and floor for sure.

  • Omg I hate falling off the vault, I lost all my confidence because of it, I wasn't a very advanced gymnast but doing handspring over the vault was my thing, now I can't do it at all because I fell off and really hurt my ankle. Also the pressure you feel when going wrong in a competition is unbelievable. When I did handspring in a competition once (before the injury) I got wrong footed and flew into a wall, completely in shock i had to do it again. Luckily it was a situation like hers, I dud it

  • When she did it I was like YAY! :)

  • î would ice her ankle^^^^^^^^^^^^^sexy feet

  • What actually happened?

  • those eyes are so beautiful

  • That girl's got more balls than some guys I know

  • at first i didnt really c wat happened because it was so fast but watched it in slow mo and ouch

  • Kerri strug much?!??? They are both amazing!!

  • @pervered You're going to Hell.

  • @ladycplum I was making a valid point- its time we have an honest conversation. fat gymnasts are a danger to themselves and others who may be in the area of thier performance. Wow your comment is not a very nice thing to say.

  • @pervered There's a difference between fat and muscle. That's the sort of comment that cost Christy Henrich her life.

  • jesus...that must have hurt like hell. OMG.

  • JUST like Kerri Strug in 96! yeahhh!

  • No pain, just a goal.

  • just like mary lou

  • i didn't see her she just failed you don't diserve 129,828 view this bull s#!t %) nerd

  • she is so beautiful, i cant see her crying :(

  • I'm so glad they changed the vaults!!! i never had to vault on that and i am so glad because that vault is so scary!

  • Just like Kerri Sturg(:

  • I can't even imagine the pressure she was in.

  • nevermind.

  • did she miss her hand?

  • I LOVE this! Soo inspiring (:

  • @16Deathwish what is the big deal about parkettes they only had 2 olympians come from their gym i feel like there would be more

  • next time that ladie says she can do this easily... knock on wood :P

  • i kept watching expecting her to slam face first into the vault...

  • so much respect for her carrying on like that...

  • I hate the international gymnastics federation... !!!

they could have killed one of these girls...

  • who else from parkette's made the olympics?

  • @16Deathwish Hope Spivey in 1988

  • @gymnfanus19972000 Kim Kelly in 1992. :) She just got screwed in the "selection process" at Brown's following trials.

  • @16Deathwish Kim Kelly was an alternate

  • this is not the biggest accident I've seen in my life . ..

  • this is not the biggest accident I've seen in my life ...

  • wtf is this?

    famous crash my ass!!

  • That's determination.

  • @ajberry1 i dont give a shit. im an injured gymnast and i went to nationals last year, and dont critisize my opinion, thats what the comment box is for .

  • YES GREATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i honestly dont believe she injured her knee. when she lands her 1st vault she doesnt start crying until she realizes she screwed up. I think she just used it as an excuse...

  • @gymnast857 Trust me, she definatly hurt her knee there :) I did gymnastics for 13 years, and you can just tell that hurt :/ I messed up on vault and i did the same as her, didnt cry till id presented and gotten off the vault run. It freaking hurt though. So i have no doubt she really did injure herself

  • @gymnast857 it's called shock ,bitch. also she went all the way to 2005 olympics with a sprained ankle and a stress fracture.

  • @ajberry1 there wasn't an olympic games in 2005

  • @gymnast857 You obviously don't know all the injuries she has had plus a rod implanted into her tibia.

  • @gymnast857 Landing like that hurts, plain and simple.

  • isn't this because the vault was set at the wrong height

  • @ilovelibertyTYC that was in the AA

  • How and why do you call it " famous crash"? lol.

  • i thought there was suposed to be an accident

  • i get hurt all the time.. she is now one of my inspirations!

  • Comment removed

  • thats not that bad she just fell but i would be sooooo disappointed like her i do feel for her

  • it is soooooo sad to see gymnast crying after messing up something they've done thousands of times, and i cant believe that people could set the vault lower than it has to be!

really people who have organised gymnastics in theese olympics should be ashamed!

sorry if i spelled something wrong i write fast...................

  • shes hot

  • SHE certainly still is much better than Elise Ray.

  • i love kristen maloney!!!!!!!!!! Im so happy the 2000 usa womens team actually won the bronze and not cheating china!!!

  • This makes me glad that the vaults are designed to be safer now.

  • Congrats on FINALLY getting the bronze, U.S. ladies!!!!!

  • Poor Kristin. I was not a fan of her gymnastics at all, but you've got give her MAJOR credit for overcoming so many serious injuries. Wow.

  • this reminds me of the japanese gold medalist who wone the competition with a broken ankle. Who was it again.... male gymnast anyways.

He said the pain was so greate that he wanted to cry and quit everything, but because of his team he continued... nobody noticed his broken ankle untill after the show when he said so.... now that's heart

  • wow nice vault!

  • i was never a fan of Kristen, however after her second valut (THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN HER DO) she gain mad respect from me... ROCK IT KRISTEN!

  • ouch!

  • Hands down to this gymnast. Talk about sucking that up! These girls are warriors!

  • i wouldn't call this a crash, far worse things have happened during vaults, usually during practice, but sometimes competitions... she was though like kerri strug and did her second vault... good job...

  • the vault was set to low and nearly everyone in the premlins had a fall on vault so its stil the question of whether it was to low or still yet to think ????

  • Inspirational. :)

  • Americans are not pussies. Haven't you ever landed hard on something and it really hurts for a minute or two? She is a great gymnast and worked really hard. Just because she doesn't live up to your high gymnastic standard doesn't mean she isn't great.

  • @kiefershizzle the fact that she was able to do it again after she got hurt shows that she is tough, so clearly americans aren't "fucking pussies"

  • Wow.

Let's see you do that shit TWICE>

And by the by, fuckface, the Committee for 2000 fucked up the bar and made it way too low.

Barely anyone landed AT ALL in the prelims.

  • Wohh Very Perrty Girl

  • ur gay and fake ooooooh

  • - she had surgery on her leg and fell on it!! it hurts when you fall like that and you had surgery!! you're the one trying to get attention!! i am a gymnast and i have fallen on my 1st vault and got hurt waited a minute or 2 and did my 2nd vault again landed it perfectly!!

-you need to grow up, shut the fuck up, and get a life!!

-oh yea.. and become a gymnast and then tell all of us GYMNAST that a double twist yurchenko is easy!!

-bcuzz you're CLEARLY NOT a GYMNAST!!

    -get a life bitch!!

  • it's still gay and fake

  • NO IT'S NOT!! YOU ARE!!

  • calm down. but it is fake and gay

  • @greyskies34 ur calling a dble twisting yurchenko easy?

  • is there even a springboard down? i cant see it.

  • was the vault set too low in the prelims and team final?

  • Nope. Only in AA.

  • There is a theory that it was too low in prelims as well because Maloney and some of the Aussies and Chinese had vault issues.

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod yep...that is one of the reasons they changed the vault design.

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod

omg.... fucking Sydney Olympics. what a hot mess... so sad

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod Nope, It was fine, She missed her hand on the vault and the Aussies were just off on their take offs

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod i'm glad they all got to revault if they wanted to, though :)

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod Yeah i didn't really go for that theory at first but you can totally see from her shoulder angle here that the vault is not the right height. She'd been doing this vault for years, even the second one she didn't get the correct shoulder angle. Interesting...

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod

No theory, the vault WAS actually several inches too low. They reset it to the correct height and offered all the gymnasts a chance to take another vault. But Khorkina had already missed her vaults then fell off bars so for some another vault was too late.

  • @sayshal Yes but no one else who fell didnt know that the vault has been to low

  • @maloneysnewtibiarod I was just going to ask when they figured out that the vault was four inches too low, because the vault she's competing on right there is DEFINITELY four inches too low, look at it! And look at the way her hand misses, it would have been in the perfect spot if the vault were a VHS tape or beamwidth higher.

  • I have to agree.

  • i think she's a perfect shape. Gymnast are known for flat stomaches and chest.

  • Maybe in the eyes of Ralph Lauren.

  • Woah back then their legs were so sloppy on the vault
