Sure, you can play simple beats and look like you're having a blast and make it look tough, but damn, I've never seen such attempts at overcompensation. If he's gonna showboat like that, he may as well do some more cool fills along with it. He's an audience's drummer, not really a drummer's drummer.

I love this guy!! I went to the drum clinic and watched him, Ray Luzier and the polyrhythm guy that bored my face off. I'm stoked to see ppl giving their energy to the crowd. Seeing him live on this tour, it was funny. Because of the angle of his symbols, he chopped through sticks like mad. Played about 20 minutes and must have gone through 10 sticks. You could see the wood chips flying, pretty funny.

I took my son (5 yr old at the time) to see this as he just started lessons. Seven was AMAZING. As for OwrKeeeng's comment, Seven's about 6'2" so he's not a typical small drummer.

Great to see in person, plus Seven was very cool and came off stage to introduce himself to my son, give him some swag, & took a couple photos.

Not to be a dick because this guy in all reality in probably a lot better than me, but in comparison to someone on the same tour (such as Chris Pennie) this guy is ridiculously sloppy. Like REALLY sloppy. And its cool to watch, but I mean there's a difference between watching and listening. The tricks and showmanship doesn't magically make the drummer good. That being said, this is also a tour with cymbals designed for heavy hitters, and he sure is smacking the shit out of them with no dynamics
