The old school Contras are the best by far. This game definitely looks like a winner. You don't need 3D graphics for a great game, just awesome game play.

This game is awesome but I'll nitpick and tell you all the bad points:

1) At least one boss is impossible to defeat without a powerup.

2) Gap between screens may deceive about the projectile path.

3) Some projectiles are hard to see because they blend with the background color.

4) Some memorable old bosses left out. Stage 8 final boss of Super C nowhere to be seen. A female face alien boss is a hallmark for most Contra games.

That boss you're thinking of isn't impossible. You can beat him with the peashooter; you just have to mash the button really fast.

You don't even have to mash it really fast. I can do it in a simple button pressing method. Oh, and if you feel you're tired, use the gun-swap trick. It is:

-have pea-shooter on both slots.

-While firing, press L moderately fast (not too fast or you won't fire fast).

The time between L presses is too small to notice. Just tap it a bit fast and shoot fast. It always works. This trick originated from Contra 3.
