  • Great Video! My grandfather Will (George) Sillence (died 1988) worked on the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge at (what was) the Brittania Works (RDL) which was situated on what is now Riverside Park. They actually built it INSIDE the works then took it to bits and shipped it to Australia. He was offered the chance of going out there but refused as he has just got married with a kid on the way. He was a crane driver and told me many a tale about the 'Brittania' as he called it!
