  • is it good for taking shower with it

I have problems in ear drum and my dr said that water shouldn't get inside my ear

but it's too difficult to do this while taking a shower

so it this ear plug good for me or not ?? :(

  • @alnagham The Yellow top left or Red on the right plugs are good for keeping water out of your ears, any silcon or rubber plugs should work, not the foam ones, they will work but not designed for repeated use.

  • Protect your hearing - you can't get it back.

  • pardon?

  • dude cut ur finger nails and clean then, you have nasty ass finger nails and ur shoving them in your ear......

  • I can never get the earplugs in all the way, creeps me out if I shove something too far in.

Are there any advantages to wear ear defenders on top of ear plugs?

  • He should clean is nails before shooting this video! Lol

  • Does it still sound loud with hearing protection in? If so, What would you compare it to? Since guns are around 140-160 DB, And hearing protection only reduces DB by a maximum of 33DB if properly inserted, Than That's still 107-127 DB that you are still potentially exposed to. That seems rather loud and a potential for hearing loss even with proper hearing protection.

  • Nice instructional, thanks :)

  • @coolstuffaddict And thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks for the rolling tip, I would always get a crease using the foam, muffs are best but the plugs are convinient.

  • That small crease would allow alot of noise to pass the plug. Not good !!!

  • This is a good video on hearing protection

everytime you are exposed to loud noise wear hearing protection and WEAR THEM PROPERLY!

  • At least the information is now there to find.

I'm lucky that I was shown the correct way to start with & had the sense to follow that advice through the years I've used ear plugs.

  • Damn, I was using those foam ear plugs only half way,and they were coming off because I didnt even roll them up before I put them in my ears! I just dont want to get them stuck in my ears.

  • Roll with a mushroom head, leave that sticking out & you should be allright.

  • in the first part of the reusable, the orange with the flat ends, are those good? Compared to the red bullet shaped ones, which is better.

  • I like & use E.A.R. Classics, Superfit 33 //36. those are flat end ones.

For the bullit shaped ones I use E.A.R Supersoft 36.

I've used earplugs for over 30yrs now. I wear earmufs at the same time at work.

One factory supplied earplug was useless & after 18 months useing them I got tinitus.

Depends entirly on your own application, Most will work fine in many noisy places.

Impulse noise I'm protecting myself from.

I'm not trying to say what's the best, just basic info about them.

  • @gunvidder

what do you do that requres you to wear both? other than shooting unless you work at a range

    thanks

  • Search drop forge.

Fireballs drop forging is a good one.

I'm not allowed to film so none are mine.

Useing earplugs & muffs means after 35 years I'm only suffering mild Tinitus.

Total deafness otherwise would of been very quick.

  • @gunvidder

wow thats loud. could see why you need both.

  • At night I can hear the local forge, it's a few miles away.

  • Both are roughly the same with those particular plugs.

  • which ones are better?

  • Im just scare Im gonna put it "too far in"

you know...it freaks me out not being able to take them out..

  • When I first started useing earplugs you had to make your own from a special wool from Bilsom.

When ready made plugs become available the odd hiccup happened, with roll down plugs as long as you roll the mushroom head & insert to that or with rubber lugs insert the flanges & leave the stalk out you will have no problems once it becomes normal for you.

  • @djEvilDude hey it freaks me out 2 but have u ever gotten it stuck?

  • @DJJASONPRODUCER locally I haven't, I mean I don't wear them often only when going to concerts

  • @djEvilDude Ohhh well i wear them whe i dj and that like every saturday, but i wish some one told me to where them when i was 12 it would of saved my ears alot of pain!

  • One of the better existing earplug review found on Youtube. Good attempt!

One question, I saw the no roll foam earplug (blue steam with yellow foam) on the video. Is it as effective as the roll down foam earplugs?

  • Excelent for a quick fix type for the odd shot or other loud noise but not so good for hearing protection in general in high risk situations for prolonged use.

    Just my opinion & preference.

  • those ear plugs in the video are all shit

    get hearos or etymotic.

  • After 36 years in impulse noise excess of 120db for upto 18 hours straight, often 12 but normally 8 plus wind noise from m/bikes for 40 years + gunfire I've learnt alot of ways to go deaf.

    Guess what, I'm not.

.Wear your "not shite" plugs for that long with the amount of abuse I've been in then come back.

Then & only then you can tell me what plugs are good or not.

Don't forget to learn how to lip read

  • I am simply saying that these ear plugs will all muffle the sound... as a musician I like for the sound to be attenuated with ear plugs but not muffled.

  • Now that is a good comment, thankyou. That plug use is more specific than this vid.

I know nothing of the requirement of musicians & your knowledge passed on will help those that are looking for that sort of info.

Could you please add a brief description.

  • They attenuate the sound 20 decibels without muffling the sound. Where as the foam ones or these ones in the video will take more than 20 decibels but will muffle everything... if you're in very loud situations and need protection I would use the ones you show in this video... if you wanna just make it a bit quieter and keep the original sound etymotic research is what you need.

  • That info might help others.

    Thankyou.

  • Hard to find in local shops etc but good advice.

Pity there expensive for the initial outlay.

  • i have very small ear holes and they don't like to stay in. which would be the best ones for me? The purple and green ones look like they would be the best for small ears.

  • The small blue blue reuseable ones are best for small ears that I've found.

For foam ones try E.A.R. Superfit 36.

    Cone shaped yellow ones.

  • Thank you, I have been trying to find information online with someone showing them in an ear for some time. The internet being so devoid of such information leads me to believe that people don't care about their hearing until it is too late. Thank you again, I am going to get a set for when I go clubbing in those few ultra loud clubs.

  • Real words of wisdom.

Would a video of how to fit hearing aid batteries be better ?
