Pure? No way. He tried to kill people, and did that to Cell and the jr's. Whenever he saw someone he cared for get hurt he'd go into a blood thristy craze. The truth of it was he loved the thrill of fighting. He loved it so much that he was scared of the idea that one day he might follow through on one of his episodes. He only said he hated fighting because he hated the idea that he liked it. Gohan is more complex of a character than people give him credit for. His human blood is violent.

@mtruthm I did read it, and I disagree. In Babiti's space ship, Gohan was right with Vegeta and Goku playing rock paper sissors to see who got to fight next. When fighting Cell, Gohan tried to talk Cell out of fighting so that he wouldn't have to kill Cell. Part of Gohan really likes the thrill of fighting. He chose to live peacefully not because he was pure hearted and didn't like fighting. He was scared of what he could, and would, do.

@mtruthm Well, he wanted to live peacefully, because of his battle lust. I never said he didn't like fighting, and he DID go into blood thirsty battle rages when he fought. If i recall, even Tien mentioned that. Remember? When he first turned SSJ2, Tien said "How can he be the same, and yet so different? Its like he became a man."

@Drumboy168 It's a side effect of the transformation. You see the same thing with Goku, he becomes all but completely merciless against Frieza when he first goes SSJ. The initial transformation is always violent, due to it being caused by anger and grief.

The fusion didn't make sense, Ultimate Gohan was the strongest non fused character yet he was absorbed, the entire saga was fucked up.

What... This isn't Gohan's sadness theme or the hyperbolic time chamber theme, and it isn't used when Vegeta dies. This is called "Time Chamber" from the Trunks Compendium album. Look up coycoy88 for an extended 5 minute version.

Piccolo taught him mentally and physically when he was young, Goku taught him in the Hyperbolic time chamber how to release his anger and use it, Android 16 taught him it's okay to fight and protect life.
