A Guide To BETRAYAL (Unreal Tournament 3)

Someone made this gametype for Unreal Tournament 2004. Absolutely my new favourite. I've betrayed teammates for 0 points already, just cause. :P

I mean I've already always been something of a horrible teamkilling dick when it comes to my offline bot play, but now I get rewarded for it. How can I not love this?

@deadhawk1212 actually in game tutorials they pronounce it jib, im pretty sure the quake 3 tutorial pronounced it this way, and in unreal tournament if they say somehting like "look at though's gibs fly" its pronounced jibs.

I have some questions... When i play Betrayal, generally the values of the bots is +1

The level of the bots is normal... I must increase their level ?

And in the titan pack they are 2 new weapons (Stinger turret and Eradicator Cannon) and a new vehicle (Axon Stealhbender) but i don't find them, do you know where are they ? (Game mode and map) Thanks, and good " Mastering UT3 tutorials"

There are more players on the PC version than on the Xbox version. I should know, because I have both versions (my friend gave me the 360 version)

lol ur wrong NSMetroid. GIB is a shothand version of the word giblets. The original gametype instagib featured a special rife which totally destroyed in opponent, making him into giblets.

Because giblets is pronounced JIBlets, I can conclude that the correct way to say instagib is the way the video makes does.

How does the Bots act in Betrayal? Do they try and kill you at some point when they believe it's the best time?

@101CBR600RR You probably already know this by now, but others might not. Generally, it seems be around 5 (which is ironically lower than the amount you get for Retribution). However, if you're in a fight with them before they become your teammate, they will still shoot at you, except they'll switch to the blue beam.

That's one thing that irks me about playing Betrayal with bots, but if you got PS3 UT3, you really don't have much of a choice. Betrayal is deader on PS3 UT3 than UT3 itself.

Its a mod called Action Cam, that you can download online.

Incorrect, I didn't use any mod. To get 3rd person you can just type "behindview", at least when you are in spectator mode or viewing a demo.. or offline.

Is there any project trying to port Betrayal to UT2004? UT3 is a great game but not as great as it's predecessor, this is the only gametype I lack in UT2004.

Your video has helped me a lot, but I still have an unresolved question, concerning the "Pot" system.

Let's say I were to kill 10 people, bringing my team's pot to 10. If I kill my teammate (who hasn't actually gotten any kills), will I get 10 points, or no points at all?

You should still get the 10, plus 1 point for the betrayed teammate. Doesn't matter who builds the pot.

If this one shot death gun is shot to titan and how will it happen??? Titan will blow up?

As I said in the Titan video, Titan mutator does not work in Betrayal.

If you can use the titan and Instagib mutator together, so you get the instagib rifle in another gametype, it should be one shot death, even on titans. If you play with instagib and there is someone in a vechile that can also be one shot.

i had this kinda thing in a mod but was a lil different it used sinners and stuff for ut99 XD u had sinners the rouges there was aways one who wear the halo the rest needed to hunt the haloer doen if u killed another u became sinner and if anyone kills him he scores a FRAG :p

I was playing with bots with a 100 points cap to win.

When i reached 87 points, i waited until my teams pot reached 13 so i could steal all their effort and win the day. But as soon i stabbed my buddys i win. I really think the betrayer should wait for the rogue timer to end before grabbing the points.

This gamemode is awesome! Its the best part of the Titans expansion and great fun if you play with a low latency ping.

In a match before I got multiple rogue alerts at the same time... how is this possible?

The last assasination was displayed as rogue, the previous ones change to display the betryeds names. Shouldn't one change to a new team only after the rogue count down is over?

if you're not one of the rogues, it's likely that you were the last remaining member of the team.. thus someone else gets added to your team.
