  • We were using this is a RP and well we just got through a massive natural disaster and i just so happened to be stationed at the capital and i called out over the radio just like the I-95 person

  • NORAD Guy is the general from Transformers 1, 2, and 3... Oh and you will see him at BattleField 3 :)

  • @MrDomburger Glen Morshower, he was also the secret service guy in 24.

  • Really, how come everyone bashes MW2 for its story a few years back? It actually made people think, unlike MW3 where everything goes steamrolling.

  • @danialaffiq 100% Agree, this scene was pretty extreme back in the day, but it sure as hell beats "We're under attack by Russian ground forces!!" followed by the entire Russian military flawlessly invading the capital city of every European country in mw3.

Of course in reality the nukes would be out in seconds.

  • ''They're everywhere!''

  • (NORAD HQ guy) Glenn Morshower voices in almost every game a Military command guy.

    Singularity,Battlefield 3,Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare ,...

  • "i'm looking at fighter jets over I-95!!!!"

  • The actors/actresses who voiced in this game were amazing. Especially the ATC in this cut scene. (Well in my opinion.)

  • RAMIREZ DO EVERYTHING

  • They can localize everything except the bastard is making all of this...

  • It was Glenn Morshower who voiced NORAD HQ, an actor seen in transformers, black hawk down and more war movies. But now he is in Battlefield 3.

  • @WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA1 On here he sounds just like Aaron Pierce himself.

  • @WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA1

yeap. instantly recognize his voice and I lol at his line in Revenge of the Fallen, 'Well, I guess I didn't get the memo'.

  • "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE" gives me the chills every time.

  • I wish Ramirez was the one controllable in SSDD and Team Player...

  • SOSUS and PAVEPAWS arrays are inoperative at this time!

    THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!

  • damn this's so intense

  • Infinity Ward could've made such a badass cutscene but chose to do the simple thing instead.

  • Wow, I just found out that FNG means Fuckin' New Guy in military slang, and SSDD means same shit, different day, LOL!

  • I've got a question about PAVE PAWS...

Why is there Ewings Sarcoma and reported cancer increases wherever there is usually one?

  • Also the line when NORAD says about systems that are offline is badass

  • What most likely happened? After the Russians decided to attack us, they used those codes to conceal a 24 buildup, then flew the entire invasion force in long range Starlifter planes over the Arctic north of Iceland (our only real land based watchtower for Russia). Blacked out or edited transmissions from any and all AWACS and naval vessels in area (probably sunk a few with long range MIG's), then sent bogus data to make us scatter our forces before finally intentionally downing most sats.

  • What're SOSUS and Pave Paws?

  • SOSUS = Sound Surveillance System. Sonar Arrays found in North Atlantic (around Iceland, England, Norway, etc.) designed to track all naval contacts passively

Pave Paw = Satellite/ICBM/Unknown Aerial Object Radar System. A massive radar array that can track all data from friendly satellites, coordinate communication networks, and scan for all aerial threats. There are three active in the U.S.A. One in Alaska, one in California, and one in Massachusetts.

    Wiki them for more info.

  • Wow, thanks! I remember SOSUS from some of Tom Clancy's work. Pave Paws was new to me though.

So the ACS is kind of an organizational tool that links all these other systems together?

  • ACS stands for Attack Characterization System. It's basically the software that translates data from all our survelliance systems and then runs them against all known databases to identify them. The problem with ACS is that since it needs simultanious access to most of America's intelligence databases and command structures to work correctly, the system has almost universal access. So if you copy it, you could "piggy back" into any major database, rewrite or blank data, etc.

  • Since it looks like you know your stuff, do you know what SSDD stands for?

  • @ slaschur

SSDD is short for Same Shit, Different Day.

Very common phrase in the U.S. military used in referrence to boredom or constant military protocols.

In Modern Warfare 2, they're referring to the fact that your character (Allen) is engaged in the mundane activites of running an obstacle course he's run many times before and teaching the local militia how to shoot. Standard fare for the boys serving in Afghanistan.

    Hope that helps

  • @ EXRazeBurn

It does thanks. :) I'm glad I asked you about that.

  • god the air force was really slacking off aren't the suppose to be flying around the US 24/7

  • @ Thegamer5150

True enough, and how do they communicate what they see/find? You guessed it, long range SATELLITE comm systems. You don't appreciate just how bad it is that the Russians copied the ACS module. That system (a real one btw) has back doors into our entire communication system. With the key codes the Russians had, they could blind satellites, interrupt all non-land based communications (Naval vessels and airplanes) and send bogus data to satellites they leave opporational.

  • They can track targets and all air traffic. They don't just fly around in Americas airspace 24/7 waiting for something that might happen. Thats silly and wasteful.

  • Quick lesson:

Bogey: Callsign designating an unidentified aerial contact

Sierra: Callsign designating an unidentified surface/submerged aquatic target

Tango: Callsign designating an enemy target, regardless of sea, land or air classification.

    Hope that helps!

P.S. If anyone knows the callsign for an unidentified land target, please post.

  • Definitely the most epic briefing in the entire campaign, had Red Dawn written all over it :P

  • I think it's the coolest briefing in the whole game

  • Is Foley voiced by the guy from Halo?

  • Yup, he is voiced by the guy who voiced the arbiter in halo:)

  • Comment removed

  • The NORAD HQ 's Voice BY Glenn Morshower.

  • You're all wrong. A bogey is an unidentified radar contact.

  • Two words:

    "OH, SHIT!"

  • I would also say, "The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!" :P

  • Lol u replied to three of my comments!!! :P

  • Its because u keep saying things I agree on or because I was explaining something. :P

  • Oh how I loved the US fighting.

  • Gotta love Infinity Ward for taking a game where no one els has ever takin' a game... And seriously Russia REALLY fucked America over I mean they drove em underground for christ sakes! If that EMP hadn't gone off American soil would probably a new Russian territory.

  • This is the cutscene that tells you "The Shit is about to go down."

  • what is a bogey?

  • bogey is a enemy right? correct me if im wrong

  • Enemy plane to be exact.

  • yes

  • alright thx :)

  • bogey is an enemy fast mover, or fighter jets.

  • Bogey: A radar or visual air contact whose identity is unknown.

  • When I played this mission and the other one in the neighborhood, the only word that ran through my mind was "damn". Just imagine if that actually happened.

  • 2nd Amendment

If every man and woman that could bear arms did, and at least they "took one with them to hell". Then it could be very painful to attack the US.

But perhaps that is similar thinking everywhere. Which is why insurgency is such a problem in our modern era. No one is willing to just lay down for some invader.

  • "I'm looking at fighter jets over I-95! How the hell did they get through?" It gave me the goosebumps too!

Awesome cutscene! The best of MW2. The way the voice of the NORAD HQ guy changes is amazing!

  • is the song in this video on the soundtrack? its pretty good

  • me likey

  • All you need to do is replace the satellite with UAV Recon, and the setting in Nazi Zombies, with the same dialog as in this cutscene, then you got yourself a horror movie. :P

    SAS: THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!

Zombies: GRAGH! RAWRGH UHHHRRHHGH! X CLAWS AT SAS X

  • My favourite cutscene in MW2. I get goosebumps when he says "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!"

  • The first time I was watching this I was like, "Oh shit, this is bad." :P

  • is it just me or who thinks cod 4 and 6 are brilliant as u play as a british person which is unique almost (a question to the brits only)

also werent the missions as soap\roach better than the one with the rangers im not trying to be biased but if i replay the game i dont do the rangers i prefer being the taskforce same with cod 4 u see soaps m4 had silencer grenade launcher and red dot sight and the marines had fuck all the sas had a silenced sniper the marine had a m9 tht got binned for an ak

  • You play as british troops in the first few call of duties as well, the WWII based ones as well. I'm American, but you've been playing as them since the beginning of the series. XD

  • that is a serious run-on paragraph dude.

  • The voice of Sgt. Foley was Keith David.

  • Who does the voice of SGT. Foley?

  • @PCGAMEfreak

    IMDB is your friend!

The actors name is Keith David and he's done voice work in Mass Effect and Halo (Arbiter)

  • Ah, thanks, I knew I heard the voice somewhere before.

  • @GameScenes He also has been in movies, like Head of State and Agent Cody Banks.

  • well @ least they didn't hit my neighborhood (Near the Elko tract)

ok they eventually found even though its in the rural area

I think it be cool to make a amateur film based on this

  • sorry for my bad english in that comment

  • hell yeah

  • Epic fail :)

  • I just love the way he yells, "They're everywhere!"

  • AC130!!!!
