All these films are real tests. But there are a couple of comments:

The ship pics and the flying dummy were of Operation Sailor Hat which was conventional explosives simulating nukes, in Hawaii.

There are some fillers, like the pic of the sun's surface, the horrifying nuclear plant pic, and so on.

You rather over-estimate things. Seeing as how Vanya itself didn't noticeably damage the atmosphere, why would blowing it in Japan have done that?

Atomic weapons are certainly powerful and dangerous but grace for her the countries where they have hit had the peace since 1945 until today. Nuclear tests must not be any more made, the atomic weapon has to be a tool of deterrence and the civil nuclear power can be safe if we do not make the bullshit of Tchernobyl and the nuclear waste in France is buried in Bure.

4:13 those ships were blown up on purpose so they could see how well a war ship could hold against a bomb like that. they still were floating, but were crucially damaged. 4:29 was the clip of a dummy on one of those ships.

Atomic weaponry seem small in comparison to what asteroids and the likes are capable of.

A small body with a 150 meter diameter could potentially cause major devastation when it strikes at vulnerable locations like cities and fault lines. Off shore strikes could create mega tsunamis.

A hydrogen bomb release anything from 5 to 70 megatons of energy, largest being the Tsar bomb. An asteroid could release anything from nill to 1 billion megatons depending largely on speed and size.

yes however one asteroid does not cause another to be launched in retaliation. how many major asteroids have hit the earth's crust? none, how many nuclear bombs have been blown up? lots, how many nuclear weapons are there THOUSANDS.

Back in 2006 a meteorite crashed down in Norway, the energy released was comparable to Hiroshima. Theres also the Tunguska event. If any of these happened to impact a population center wouldnt it be fair to call it a major impact? The largest (not confirmed) impact crater on earth is 483 km in diameter.
