  • Get a record player and play the start backwards. We did this in 83. "Are Never gonna slip away". At least that is what I remember, but that was about 1000 cases of beer ago.

  • what are the first words of the song? My mom has been trying to figure it out for almost 30 years!

  • It's funny seeing Jeff dressed up as a school teacher. Great blast from the past.

  • one of the first videos I remember seeing on MTV

  • ADULT ORIENTED ROCK!

  • It's a tragedy...this girl is too young for my love....certainly a precursor to Winger's "Seventeen!"

  • oh yeah ... life was simple back then, picking up chics in the arcade and never getting a haircut. good times!!

  • I've been hunting foe this song for years but could never find it. I didn't know the group name all i had was the chorus. Really well done arrangement. Thanks for posting.

  • so hilarious vid^^ at the point he was a teacher underlining the word tragedy

  • @bigguy418-It was 95.7fm in Louisville,Ky

  • I had this on cassette back in '83, when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell,Ky. Wore that tape out !!. Such a great album !!. I think that it needs to be re-released. Bring back all of the great songs from the "good 'ole days". Thank you very much for posting !!. Made my day !!.

  • @bigguy418 - I just thought of this song today, which I heard only once on the radio ,driving through Louisville,Ky on WQMF (they would say initials stood for quite,m____r,f____r),on the way to Florida that summer. I was listening to more rock stations(top 40 more my taste) the rest of the trip, even when I got down to Ft.Lauderdale, but never heard it down there or to and from. Once I got back to Indy, never heard it as well. YouTube is great, all you need is to jog memory.

  • @chamoisleather Actually, he looks more Weird Al than Bobby Kimball. But that's just me.

  • super tremendos .!! buen material

  • This is GREAT

  • My favorite song from the 80s! Thanks for putting it on youtube!!!!

    Love it

  • Most important who's the babe. The hair was one thing but the mono-brows have got to go. I ran lights and stage for a band that looked about like those dudes in the 80's but they sounded better.

  • AOR rules , one of the best AOR albums

  • Wow memories !! how can you find an mp3 version its no where to be found? I wonder how the hot young one turned out? Milfy I hope

  • love this song!

  • I had'nt heard this song since 83 when we all hung out at the roller rink. Thanks for taking me back. What a great song

  • holy crap on a craacker!!! CAN'T beliveve I found this!!!!!!! had 4 copies of this cassette in the 80's and have not been able to ever find it again! THANKS for posting it!!!

  • good song,4 one hit wonders.i remember seeing it all over mtv in the 80,s.the 80,s are the best decade of music by far.they had everything, rock, new wave,r&b,rap came out.im glad i got to be a teen all thru the 80,s.rock on!

  • I have this song on a 45 and I have the album. Back in 1983, here in the Dallas/FW area, it was a HUGE hit on our top 40 radio stations. I worked in the record stores in the 80s all the way into the mid 1990s. Every now and then I would get a customer come in looking for Arc Angels records. Also, if ur a fan, the 45 version was different than the album version.

  • @latinguy67 -Must have had some good top 40 stations back in the day in D. As I mentioned on another post heard this song just once on a rock station while traveling, and never heard it again. According to my Joel Whitburn book it never charted on the Hot 100 charts,so it was probably just played on some rock stations and very few top 40 stations nationally.

  • @Man18Colts It was mainly played on AOR stations.

  • what is an AOR station?

  • @zman1974 "Album Oriented Rock!"

  • They had some cool stuff

on that album. I always looked for more. There was a guitar player that was hot with the pick. How

    did a friging country band

    take youre name?

  • They look like dorks.

  • Bring Back those days ! To be young in 80s was the shit !

  • @thaigergolf You bet!

  • @thaigergolf Absooofuckinloutely!!!

  • @thaigergolf Indeed!

  • Doesn't look too young to me !!!!!!!

  • Brings back old memories for sure. This is one of those tunes that is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Now, I know where to go.................Classic. This band should have been Bon Jovi.

  • I am so glad that I'm not the only one who remembers this amazing band!

They were considered hometown heroes where I grew up. I bought this album with allowance money, and my big brother know one of the members. 14 months later, I was traveling with bands, and later became a touring soundman. This album, along with Rainbow's "Long live Rock-n-Roll" inspired me into a career in music! Every time I need inspiration lyrics from this album or LLRR pop into my head! LEGENDS!!

  • I have this album in my LP collection. I will try to post the entire album.

  • Awesome!!! The memories with this band and this song are incredible. Thanks for posting.

  • it DOES look like Leah Remini does any one know if it IS her?

  • @tsarpeteroftexas

Don't know if it is, but I'm STILL chasing gals that look like her around! Ah Natural New England Beauty! NOM NOM NOM! LOL!

  • Holy crap. Been trying to find this song for over 20 years.

  • Thanks for posting - I've never seen this video!!

  • Jeff - For over 25 years I've tried to figure out what you're saying at the very beginning before the song starts. Please please tell me!

  • @lorir77 Never gonna let you go... backwards.

  • Does anyone know where I can download this song?!

  • Jeff-

This is the track that introduced your music to me. I still love the tune, brings back great memories. Now, I like your diversity and quality that you bring. I agree it is a tragedy regarding the babe in the video! -Scott V.

  • Carrie Heffernan (Leah Remini) was borm June 15th 1970. Could this be her at thirteen? Face looks like her, butthe lips don't. Check out her 1988 pictue on Google where she did an episode on Head of the Class. Looks younger then this girl. Damn close. I also listened to this song all the time on the radio...loved it and still do. The eighties were a great time to be a teenager.

  • cool funny 80s videos check out the leather coats with scarfs and pressed permed hair doos

  • Hi, Is this girl in this video a young "Carrie Heffernan" from "King Of Queens TV show" ? If not, sure does look like her...maybe at 18 or so in '83...would make her about 44 now ??

  • This is awesome!!

  • Jeff, thanks for posting. Much better than mine taken from a VHS recording. And dont take anything personal from idiots like deedeernocn. Must be a fag, hate-music lover, or hip hopper. All three kinds should banished from the earth.

  • its a shame this kind of music didn't last longer.

Bands today don't know what the hell rock music is. I remember hearing this song played all the time on Tampa Bays 95 YNF station. 95 YNF radio always played lots of one hit wonder bands.

    That was the fun times.

  • @deedeernocn Not quite ASSBAG!!!

  • O shut the the hell up, as if you know what's music... go and listen to your korn, nirvana and shit like that, live us normal people alone

  • I stumbled across this band about 6 mo.s after this album had been releases...late '83 - early '84. It freakin' blew me away w/ how good it was and will always hold a place in my heart as one of the better bands of the '80s.

  • Jeff,

As I have said before, this is a great song and WAY before its time!

I only wish MORE of the songs in this time were like this!

    Charlie

  • WOW! Thank you for posting this! I was a fan in HS of this band (Yes I am getting older lol)! Love this song! Thanks Jeff!

  • I liked this group, the lead guitar player is JayJesseJohnson. Check out his CD's this guy is a player supreme. Also check out Rockin Train video by him.

  • ahha siiik Mike soldan the keyboardist, Is so cool.

I live right near him, and he's giving me vocal lessons. to get my solo band going. haha :P

  • Who is the young lady int the video? She looks familiar, movies, videos,?????

thanks for spotting up this gem, Jeff.

  • Flashback to the summer of 1983 when I was a young buck of 19 years old courting his first girlfriend who was three years younger than I was and doing plenty of cruising and boozing with the boys while trying to maintain a decent GPA at local community college. Crazy me back then thought this song was written just for me!! Thanks Arcangelcannata for the trip down memory lane!! Keep on Rocking in the Free World!!

  • Man, Im like you guys. I used to wait around for Eagle 97 in Dallas to play this. My all-time favorite.

Jeff you guys had lots of talent. I finally got the cd from a Japanese import. Rock on!

  • Wow,this is really Jeff. How cool is that!! Your awesome Bud!!! Am I starting to feel old or what. I used to wait for this song to come on the radio,-- Now it's at our fingertips. What a different time we live in. Kids just will never get that!! Ha ha

  • Great stuff. I've looked for this for a long time. Wish we could get it on disc. Jeff has sucha distinct voice. This band should have been as big as Bon Jovi. I do like Jeff's music, very thought provoking.

  • you can i had to look overseas about 4 years ago.

i still keep it in the hard case to protect

  • I remember Steve, Jeff Z. and I driving at 3:00 Am after a show in NH to get to New Haven for the V shoot with Jeff C. the next day. Those were great times. Steve's spirit lives on.

  • Thanks for posting this. I've still got this album in a crate in my coat closet; however, I haven't played it in over a decade - when my turntable died. I haven't seen this video since '83...things have changed. Man, I had some good times in Atlanta, GA back then.

  • Yes, Steve was a special person and a good friend....

    JC

  • Jeff - that closeup of Steve in this video - all I can say is wow. And that wasn't for show in the video. That was Steve every time he played. He was so excited about doing this, just like a kd. This video is very comforting to me right now. Thanks.

  • I just can't believe Steve is gone. I followed Cryer all over Connecticut for several years. The best thing about Steve (besides his talent) was that he always had a huge smile on his face, on stage and off. Even though the last time I saw him was 1984 or 85, it feels like it was just last weekend. I'll never forget him.

  • R.I.P. Steve Shore, the bass player in the video. He passed away on Wednesday.

  • This is so incredibly sad. He was such a great man.

  • WOW it's much much different than I remembered it! Weird...!!! Anyone else got rare video suggestions I should check out? When I leave here I'm gonna see if I can find a song called "Hello", by some band that won MTV's first garage band contest, can't remember their name.

  • Try- "All is Forgiven" -Red Siren, "Hanging on a Heartattack"- Device.

  • the name of the band was RAIL from seattle and the song was hello

  • funny video clip...5/5

  • Man, now I know who sings this song, I always wondered. Went through high school in the 80's and I remember that song on the radio.

  • This song reminds me of my older brother and all girlfriends luv it thanks for posting this song!!!!

  • The 80's rocked!!!!!! Thanks for posting!

  • this is the most ridiculous video i have EVER seen in my life. This makes Twisted Sister seem Mature and Intelligent....

  • Does anyone remember those TS shows in the early 80's? We would see them in New Haven and at every show fights broke out and people got kicked out right and left. By the time they came on everyone had just enough liquor and drugs in them to be out of control, and Dee managed to get us balistic. Given that this was over 25 years ago, and I still have vivid memories of being thrown into a wall and then tossed out, those shows will always be my favorites.

  • wow ,,i remember this from the early 80,s

we were all smoked up the rest is history

    rock on

  • i doubt she's in high school but whatever

  • yes, this is so damn awesome!!!

  • Wow! I can remember hearing this song on Michigan's X105 from across "the pond" in Milwaukee. Only place I ever heard it but was able to at least get that to cassette! What memories it brings back...

  • Wow, never had seen the video. I have this on vinyl, truly a great song. Brings back memories! Thanks for posting this!

  • Damn! Haven't heard this in over 25 years! Brings back memories of a certain girl (Hi Lindsey!) This should have been a multi-million seller that should still be played on those flashback weekends! Thank You!!!

  • Thanks Jeff,

25 years later and I still love this song.

  • Dude thank you so much! This song brings back some good old high school memories. Anybody know how to get this single for download. I've looked everwhere but I can't seem to find it. The only thing I've been able to find is the import CD but's it's pretty expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Was there ever a video for STARS. Its awesome that someone saves and posts this stuff.

  • I, too, wore the tape out playing this song over and over...actually, I listened to ALL of the songs on the album - they were all great! I found the CD on eBay a few years back. Awesome!

  • oh man,I won this album at a raffle back in the early 80's and wore it out ..I cant believe its up here...I know there were a few other songs I liked too off this albumbut they escape me at this point ,please post some of the other songs from them!!!

    jets

  • Who is the young lady in the video? She looks familiar, is she an actress?

I have this album on vinyl, I recall the summer I graduated from High School, this song was in the top 5 for Columbus, Ohio on the local rock/album station, Q-FM 96

  • I CANNOT believe this is here. You made my night. I first heard this on a radio special about backward masking. I found the VINYL record in the cut out bin at my local Peaches(now FYE). I have the whole album. Give me some time if you like, with someone from the bands permission, I'll post it. LMK

    Thanks for this. GREAT!!!!

  • thats my stepdad plying drums

    whats good

  • This was a short lived group....but I cannot find them now!! Anyone know where I can get they're music???

  • Huele bastante.

  • Finally Its back up

    Thanks Jeff

  • Great! Thanks for finding this. Your the best!!!!!

  • JEFF CANNATA = HEAVY METAL God

    A.O.R. = HEAVY METAL

  • Jeff Cannata made music that sounded like it was sung by the Angels in Heaven! What is even more unbelievable that Arcangel and later 'Cannata' were not HUGE!

    Just awesome!

  • Rare dude!!! I had to buy the CD in Japan. You rock!!!!!

  • Wow! Saw this one on MTV back when they used to play videos (I'm old). Thanks for posting this--bought the album back in '83. Got an import CD of it now. Still great stuff.
