Also, considering Stossel works for the Business section of Fox News and has been known for being a notorious liar, I think it's obvious that Stossel's word and motive are very much in question. Don't get me wrong, pretty sure Michael Moore twisted the truth, but one side is trying to paint Cuba in one extreme, while the other is doing the same thing in the opposite direction; pretty sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I also just went to "therealcuba" site and found it littered with pictures and videos that are pretty fucked up. But its hard to tell whether or not they are what the guy claims to be; mainly because the guy takes a picture of someone with a bruise on their face and gives commentary without any kind of actual testimony from the guy's picture being shown. So all we have to go on is HIS WORD.

I can't find any information on this doctor, hell he doesn't even register in any of the search I tried to find him in. But considering his comments about abortion, I find it interesting that these are the same exact regurgitating statements made by the religious right about abortion. Forced abortions? Why don't you hear that from actual reputable human rights organizations like Amnesty International? I would trust their word over anti-castro political rhetoric any day.

I live in New Zealand and we have government run health care. Its not perfect there are waiting lists but it means everybody gets it and opperations and the like are free. Being seriously sick is always going to be a difficult time but here in New Zealand we all believe in our hearts that we will be treated and money wont be a factor. If you are lucky enough to have money you can choose to get health insurence as well.

2. Even when you get an appointment there is a minimum 2 hour wait from the time you arrive.

Therefore doctors can charge ludricous sums, since companies don't mind to pay $100.000 for a simple surgery that can be done for $1000 abroad, because if they did not pay $100.000 for it, they would pay $100.000 more in taxes! Medical business makes big money out of this scam and so does the government, but the unemployed are screwed.

Stossel is reporting on a movie over TWO HOURS long, and somehow spends the entire segment arguing about Cubas health care system, which if you actually watch the movie is only one small part of Moores study. If you watched Sicko, youd know he also reports in America, France, Canada, and England.

Hey nelson747. I just read your bullshit statement about Canadian healthcare. Are you a Canadian? Have you ever recieved treatment in Canada? I didn't think so. I'm a Canadian, and my health or anyone else I know's health has ever been in danger because of our health care system. We are treated wonderfully here and we're all grateful that we can see a doctor for free when we get sick. We are provided with great treatment and we'd NEVER trade our system for America's system. @nelsonj747 you are joking right i would take free uk health care over the US system anyday of the week. All my family have been treated and had operations on the NHS and they have no complaints. Unlike the US system in which you pay massive premiums to then be denied treatment for you cancer, and once you become sick you will never get insurance again. Dont even bother to defend US healthcare, it is indefensable.

People all over the world go to USA to recieve the best medical treatment. @RiktigPolitik the best medical treatment if you can afford it and IF your insurance company wants to pay out. The uk has health care for all, from a simple doctors appointment to brain and heart surgery. That is the way it should be, people looking out for each other not dog eat dog and the weak die by the road. And us brits must make sure it stays this way and stop the government from trying to privatise the system. How many of you idiots even know how our governments are screwing us?

@digwillhachi When health care is privatized there is competition that drives down prices and increases quality (the only way to increase profit is to give better treatment for lower costs, because otherwise patients would go to another hospital!) , just look at what pace the price of aesthetic surgery has dropped(lasek eye surgery, breast enlargments etc) while regular socialized medicine costs increase. The government could subsidize the poorest, if they can not afford private medicine...

Let's get some facts straight. If you have cancer you will not be denied treatment from your insurance carrier. Further you cannot be dropped from your insurance if you get sick. If you try to get insurance (low cost) after you get sick and were irresponsible to get coverage before, then, yes, you will need to go the medicaid route - BUT you will still get treatment.
