If that's what you're worried about when you might possibly hurdle into the mountains at 500mph, then you have seriously misplaced priorities.
As for air safety, the last time an A330 crashed, it was blown up by the US navy. An Air Transat A330 glided 130 miles to an Air Force base in the middle of the Atlantic. An Air France A340 overran the runway at Toronto Pearson, completely broke up, all 309 passengers and crew alive.
i think that they shud invent some button or somethin to drop all the engines off the wing, so that planes that have engines on the wing could have safer water landings...some idea like that
Airbus hasn't been in the game anywhere near as long as boeing so the numbers quoted by burrichello are disproportionate. Wait though until the scarebus Gay380 takes to the skies and crashes due to the cracking glare in the tailplane, not to mention the FAILED wing stress test. Chunka shit scarebus subsidised by nationalistic government of surrender monkeys.
Gee, I wonder why the 737 has so many related fatalities. Oh, its probably the fact that there's been 737s produced than all Airbus A3xx series and has been in production 4 years longer than the A300 alone. And the A320 had 4.21 deaths per plane produced while the 707 had 2.05 deaths per plane.
Plus above it all, these death figures are ALL fatalities, not just ones involving mechanical failure. That's an analyzation that would take a bit of time.
Air Accidents Investigation Branch recommended Boeing in 2003 after the Helios 737 run out of oxigen and presurization...to change the wire backup of the air conditioning-presourization valve in all 737´s.
Boeing currently hasn´t responded yet...so:
Each Boeing 737 is just a potential Killing Machine by lazyness of Boeing to change their systems...saving cost???IOL.
And now the best: Total Lives Killed by Boeing. Boeing 707: 2733 killed. Boeing 717: OK. Boeing 720: 175 killed. Boeing 727: 3702 killed. Boeing 737: 4779 KILLED. updated Boeing 747: 2850 killed. Boeing 757: 467 killed. Boeing 767: 569 killed. Boeing 777: OK. Total Killed= 15.215 Updated. Americans like everything huge...WOW.
Well...somebody told me once...all that goes up...someday will fall down.
Good advice Yep...It should be aplied normally to Boeing planes...they always fall down quite fast...causing with just the KILLER BOEING 737 3.000 PEOPLE DEAD...
And then we find an exemplary Airbus Plane called A340...not a single person dead til the day. Mark My Words.
WTF is this??? Pilots did everything right...that Boeing airplanes are just crap...search Youtube Videos of Airplane crashes...in 90% of them you can see a Boeing crap envolved directly and many lives killed... Boeing Sucks...
man don't pay attention to people like that , they forgot that boeing company is way older then airbus , and because of that its normal they had more challanges or maybe accedints then airbus , they are the first and the best in the making of commercail jets
What it was was a volcano had erupted either that day or the day before and it was ash and soot. The day after the flight they were inspecting the damage and the engines were almost totally clogged with the stuff, when you see the pictures of the damage it really was AMAZING that they even fired again. The windshield was almost impossible to see out of because this stuff had sand blasted the windshield, also the paint looked like somebody had taken a sand blaster to a lot of that too.
Landing a commercial jet on water is just as deadly as trying to land on concrete. With the engines being positioned under the wings they rip the wings right off as soon as they hit the water which in turn breaks apart the fuselage.I.E Ethopian Airline crash on water after the shitheaded hijakers didn't believe the captain when he said they were low on fuel so they told him to keep going to Cuba but surprise OUTTA FUEL!! the pilot did an awesome job trying to land it on the water though.
The reason is because at speeds of 100+ mph water is just like concrete. If you've ever water skied and wiped out at anything above 40mph you'd know how hard water becomes at speed. The other thing about landing an aircraft of that size on water, with the engines hanging under the wing they dig in bigtime causin the wings and fuselage to rip apart.
I think the volcanic blowout 'sandblasted' the windshield making it difficult to see. Anyone else have a thought about this? Also, what has become of TWA800 - have they figured that out yet?
Yea jpg0572 it was completely pitted, even worse then Sand Bl.TWA800 officially solved:Gas fumes in center fuel tank ignited but theres still a shitload of people say they saw a missle streak towards that jet and US navy was in the area but they certainly would'nt admit to accidentley fireing the missile.
but if use explosive to destroying the bolts holding engines can only use once, once detach the engines, then the plane has only one choice, land on water, and will make sometimes stupid pilots activate the explosion accidentally.
If they land on the sea the engines on the 747 will gather water into the engine causing severe drag thus tearing the plane apart. And water landings are extremely hard to pull off and travelling at 500 km it would be hard to survive.
i think if possible the plane manufacturer should think of a way to let the pilots have a decision to either give up their engines or move the wings or engines up when they decide to land on water. I know this is stupid, but is just a thought, just to prevent the engine touch the water.
what i mean was they should let the pilots have a choice to lift up their engines or any possible way to make the engines not touching the water during a emergency landing on water.
Yes, got what you mean. I am thinking of small explosives destroying the bolts holding the engines, so they could fall off just before plane hits the sea. Anyway i am not shure if it really helps. Probably just a bit.
Well see for yourself.Heres video of Ethiopian airliner crashing on water after running out of fuel because the highjackers didnt believe the captain when he said he was running out and had to land. For some reason this won't let me post a link but its youtube/com/watch?v=-GAg5Y5WK24
This was not a plane crash.

The A330 numbers are incorrect so far as fatalities go. Several crew members were killed in an accident during early A330 testing.

YEP...then we consider that the 737 has created more deads thab the whole Airbus Fleet in their service history:
The Killer Boeing 737: 4.779 killed.
Airbus: 2.018 deads.
PD: 3.272 killed by the Boeing 737 since first A320 flight ...IOL...still ahead of Airbus totals...
American terrorism: Boeing.

well those numbers are inaccurate unless you start the date at a certain time and end it at a certain time 737 has had a longer time in service
i think you should start the counting of the deaths at the same time that the a32x came out then count that
otherwise it is completely inaccurate
and
when the 737 came out first it was made with the technology of that time time

No, dropping the engines schould not be a too big issue, if it helps touch down on sea.
